Very loud group next to us at some points couldn’t hear each other kinna frustrating
I feel like when you make a reservation you shouldn’t have to wait for over 15 min to get seated
I knew Valentine's day would be a busy night which is why I made the reservation well in advance. Once we got there, we waited 25 minutes before we were shown to our table. The kitchen was really fast but they clearly overbooked the night.
The dinner was fabulous, the service was awesome. The place was packed, so it was a bit noisey, but understandable.
Service started slow with a longer than usual wait for someone to come to our table - wanted to start evening with a champagne for the birthday girl and had to wait. Food was OK - my rockfish was very thin; thinner than usual. Had a fishy taste so must have left on the 'graying' underneath. All in all OK but not great.
Great place, but very loud. Hard to hear the person across from you.
Had a great dinner out with my boyfriend. Our server was so lively and kind. Super upfront about timing for different dishes and what to expected. He really was ahead of what we wanted and needed which was outstanding. The food was EXCELLENT! Crab fettuccine and the sword fish dinners are what we ordered. Then dessert was amazing also. Just prompt, happy, helpful service. We waited a little after the reservation time to be seated but honestly if you don’t expect that on a busy night that’s on you not them. Would recommend using Open Table and would recommend Anthony’s to everyone! Really outstanding service.
I have been going here for years and usually I give it a better rating but the last few times I have found it to very average meal for the price. And I have to say the waiter was not that friendly and rushed us through our meals. I specially asked them not to rush us. The calamari was so salty and over cooked.
On the bright side it is a lovely view
David is our ALL TIME favorite waiter!! He even makes the food and wine taste better!
The salmon was cooked to perfection.
Anthony's is a restaurant we can count on. Superb quality, gracious service, stunning location, and great value all add up to a wonderful experience for customers.
I made my reservations online and put a note on there that it was my birthday and would like a seat by the window. We did have to wait 15 or so mins for a table when we got there, then an extra couple minutes for one by the window. The hosts were nice and acknowledged the birthday note. It would have been nice if the server had got the memo that it was one of our birthdays, though. I got skipped over when we were ordering and went last.
I'm gluten free and I couldn't eat the bread that was served, but I ordered the NW seasonal salad which didn't have any berries on it and was not particularly good and not worth $10. However I was glad to be able to eat something before my food came.
I got the scallops and they were delicious! I was very pleased. I also got a basil pomegranate mocktail that was very good.
But after our food came and a quick once over, we didn't see our server again, so it was hard to order another drink. And when I did, it felt hurried and like I couldn't ask any questions about it. I wound up getting a drink that was way too strong.
The desert menu only had two gluten free things on it - ice cream and burnt cream. Even the mousse wasn't gluten-free. I was going to ask if there was a free desert for birthdays, but I didn't want the GF options they had, so I didn't bother. And our server didn't seem to have time for me to ask either. So we just went elsewhere for desert.
I initially have this review 4 stars across the board because I overall had a pleasant evening with my SO and family, however, after breaking down the evening, there were a lot of things that didn't go so well.
Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent view of the water. Accommodating of the wheelchair we had including a nice ramp. The ramp does have some landscaping byshes that needs to be clipped back. Professional, kind, smiling and courteous employees. We will be back!
It seems they don't have enough employees to handle the crowd. We had a reservation through OpenTable, arrived 5 minutes early. We were 'checked in', and noticed that there were several other couples 'checked in' and complaining of their wait. A few minutes survey of the dining room indicated very few people being served, and after 20 minutes of waiting to be seated, with several people still ahead of us, and the hostess not addressing the problem, it was obvious they were not keeping up with reservations or able to handle the crowd efficiently, or even offer to explain the hold-up. We left without being seated and ended up another great establishment where we were seated immediately.
It's the place we go to when we are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion because we know we will have a great meal.
Lovely place to celebrate a birthday, fabulous place for a 2nd date. We spent lots of time chatting before even looking at the menu and the waiter handled it well - he checked in but didn't push. Food was yummy!
The server and busboy were attentive but not overly present and both were extremely polite and professional. The food was to everyone's liking and was really something folks were raving about. I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor Bellingham to a friend and was very happy with our dining experience.
The kitchen kept things timed properly so at no time were there multiple courses served at the same time, which paced the meal well.
What I will remember was my own experience, not that of the other three dinners.
I read over the menu carefully, trying to find dishes that were not shell fish, as I have an allergy to
it. I believed I ordered sliced raw tuna, but received a poke bowl of cooked through tuna pieces! Sad I didn't complain at that point. My entree, the cod special, was undercooked! By then it was too.late to complain. My husband's meal was good, as apparently was everyone elses! I will not go back anytime soon.
We were looking for a good seafood restaurant in Bellingham while we were visiting there and we found it. The restaurant sits right by the ocean so am sure on a clear night it would be stunning unfortunately it was raining and foggy during our visit. The food was excellent, the service was prompt and friendly. We were there on a Monday night and it was full - highly recommend reservations.
Our waiter initially was great, but must have had too many tables. We had to wait a long time before he returned so that we could ask a question. Also we would have appreciated coffee or tea with our dessert but we got tired of waiting!
The view of the harbor from our window seats was nice. The lighting at nice was comfortable. Our cups never went low. The 3 course meal was a good deal. We enjoyed our visit.
Took friends for an anniversary dinner on a Friday evening. We had the 3-course dinner, before dinner cocktails and wine with dinner. Dinner was so filling that we took our desserts home. We all had a great time. Oh, we ran into 5 other couples that we know in 3 other groups. They seemed to be enjoying themselves too.
The $25 dinner special was a very good value. The three courses were well prepared and served well. The selection was broad. The size of the entrees were a bit smaller than full cost platters; however, the preparation and flavors were excellent. After the three courses, we were well satisfied.
We had dinner reservations to celebrate our wedding anniversary & my husband's birthday & the evening went excellent! We were seated right away. Our server, Mark H., was awesome! He offered great customer service, he greeted us with a smile, he was kind, & one of the best servers we have had at this establishment. He even offered us a salad to split while we waited for our meals which was a first. We ordered our usual dinner favorites which were top notch. We will continue to return here and we always send our friends & family here for the best seafood in town. Thank you for making our evening extra special!
Food was good, and consistent as usual. Service was mostly good, but we felt as though the server was in a hurry to close out our bill, and it turns out it was likely as she was at the end of her shift. Anyway, it felt a little rushed, even a little pressured, but still, a very positive dining experience.
Third time dining at this location. We have not been disappointed! Thank you. Will definitely be back.
New Year's Eve at Squalicum Anthony's was great. Always a bit noisy when busy, but the food and service was very good.
Great service amazing seafood options
Being a Bellingham resident I have eaten at this location many times. The only thing I dread is the initial meeting with the hostess; they are usually gruff, rude and not very friendly. The rest of the staff however, is awesome. I have always had friendly, courteous and accommodating servers. The food is good I’ll be at a little overpriced. Lastly, the sign of a restaurant that appreciates you is when you are thanked by the hostess for eating at the restaurant before you exit; in the last six visits I have yet for this to happen. There are many new fresh restaurants in town where all staff are very happy to see me and look after my needs; I will be expanding my food circle to enjoy these
Upon arrival there were two hostesses chatting, one was calling to a guest waiting in the lobby. The hostess call to the guest several times from the hostess desk about 14 feet away? You could see the frustration on her face when she had to walk over to talk to the guest.
We were seated right away across from the kitchen and the light it was out at our table.
The service could’ve been better, it was probably still too early and not enough for the server to do which sometimes leads to lack of attention.
The food was just so-so and for the price point my sense is Anthony’s needs to reevaluate and assess value for lack of quality.
Everything was good and the service was good. Only problem was I made a reservation for a table for 2 at 6:15. We arrived at 6:10 and weren't seated until about 6:50.
Always enjoy it here. They do a great happy hour and dinner was also really good. Love the fried oysters. Staff is very friendly and accommodated us with our seating request.
Our favourite restaurant when we are in this area. We always feel so welcome. Service is awesome and the food is delicious as is the presentation. Definitely a great dining experience.
Anthony's is my family's go-to place for fancy occasions, and going when the Xmas decorations are out is an added bonus.
Anthony's in western Washington Never disappoint! The food, the views, the ambiance, the servers. Always the best!
Really nice and relaxed atmosphere and great service.
Wonderful clam chowder and great sourdough bread.
Too noisy for easy conversation - otherwise outstanding service and food.
Loved the lobster special...a nice place to spend time with a friend who is going south for the winter!!!
The November special, Steak and Lobster, was fabulous!!! Everything was cooked perfectly, will definitely try to go back again before it's gone!! And the best Caramel Appletini ever! Service was top notch, don't change a thing! (I've also had their Sunday Brunch....amazing!)
