ARDO Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Quality of food and service was good. Table was close to entrance door and the overall layout is somewhat cramped. When you spend some $150.00 plus on a meal, the charge of $2.00 for a bread plate is not what one would expect.
The food and wine were excellent and the service impeccable!
This was my wife and my first visit to Ardo and we can't wait to go back. An excellent experience from start to finish; beautiful space, great service and fantastic food. Can't wait to go back!
How's this for an endorsement? It was so good we went back 2 days later! Felt like I was back in Sicily - so many authentic ingredients and dishes. A lot of love in the food at Ardo. Added to my list of favourites for sure! @camicooks
The ambiance was good but didn't match my expectations after viewing the pictures on the website. Food was very good and I would recommend, but portions small for the cost, especially if ordering a pasta as part of the daily specials menu.
Always good, always consistent. The owner and staff are very hospitable.
Treated a friend for her belated birthday. Service was excellent, the food, atmosphere, lighting, very good. Great vibe.
Best Italian restaurant in the city. Roberto, the owner/chef is a genius. A truly authentic experience.
Great food. Great atomosphere. Great service. Highly recommend it.
We really enjoyed our meal at ARDO. I would have rated it a 4.5 (I reserve 5 for truly exceptional experiences), but there are no half stars on opentable. We started with cocktails - both of us were impressed, it's not positioned as a cocktail bar but they were as good as any we've had in the swank upscale cocktail bars in the financial district; very nice. We then asked for help with the wine choice and were offered a Sicilian wine that wasn't on the menu - based on both of us ordering seafood it was an excellent choice, reasonably priced. Again, very nice touch. Started with the burrata - excellent, superfresh. Both our mains were specials of the day, and they were very good, not exceptional, but very well executed. We finished with the canolli, and they were beautifully done. Service throughout was very professional. Definitely recommended.
Great first experience. The food is simply delicious and the room fits the direction of the cuisine.
great service and delicious food! we will definitely be back!
Outstanding in every way - outstanding service, food, simple ambience, great menu with options for everyone. Can’t wait to go back.
A wonderful experience. Food was great - especially the gnocchi. Helpful service.
This is an amazing restaurant. I highly recommend for both the food and service. It is high on my 'go to' list
We were coming to Toronto for the night from Halifax on our way to the Caribbean. I️ found a reference to Ardo online so booked a table. It far exceeded expectations. The food was incredible and the service was fantastic. The wine we choose was exceptional. Will definitely be back!
The food was excellent, but it was our server Nikita who made our anniversary exceptional by being amazingly personable and attentive.
We highly recommend going to check out this cosy spot on the East end.
A wonderful meal - every course excellent. Sicilian wines a great treat. I keep coming back here. A Toronto favourite of mine.
Positively lovely!! The gnocchi was delicious and the rapini was not over cooked, as tends to happen in other restaurants. Cannoli was the perfect sweet treat to cap off the night. Will definitely be back!
This food reminded me of when I was in Italy. The ambience and final product was the closest thing to the real deal that I've had in all of Toronto. The restaurant is tiny with an adorable interior design. However, due to the space, your seating is not private nor very comfortable. I asked the server a couple questions before selecting a bottle of wine but her knowledge was lacking. I will definitely return and have to try the extra long pizza!
Execellent food! True southern Italian cooking ! Servers very attentive!
Had a business meal here and was not disappointed. Professional service, delicious food, good wine list for Sicilian choices (appropriate for the restaurant) and not too loud that you can't hear each other. The portions could be bigger but then again we were going family style and the dishes are not really intended to be eaten that way - vs say a Lee's. The spirits were poured quite small in our estimation but that's the only niggling I would note. I would visit again.
The food is always excellent. The specials were good. I look forward to their winter menu and maybe some new items.
Food was ok. Not great. Waitress was nice but the hostess was a little indifferent.
Lively downtown spot, very good food, tasty and unique menu, superb, friendly service, a good spot for friends to meet up.
Had the seafood salad to start, very good. I had the pizza with artichoke, semi dried tomatoes and arugula, highly recommended. My companion had the sausage pasta, it was good. We had the cannoli for dessert, go for it!
Absolutely delicious! The service was great and the food was amazing. Sat at the chef's table and everyone was very attentive to us. The owner of the restaurant gave us an appetizer on the house, which was nice. Definitely coming back to this restaurant.
The food was incredible. However, our waitress ignored us most of the night and we were seated right by the entrance and had customers on top of us and we're freezing anytime someone opened the door but there was nowhere for us to move. (They should probably get rid of that seat). We would still go back for the food despite the lousy service.
What a gem -- food was great, decent wine selection and reasonably priced wines by the glass. I've gone back here because of the consistency and the care the owner takes to visit with guests. The menu is simple yet creative - something for everyone.
The service was very good with a smiling engaging server. We mis-ordered one dish and the server happily changed it without complaint. The food was quite different from the usual fare so we experimented with food tastes. We were off to the Berkeley Theatre so the service was timely.
Probably one of my best experiences in the city. Fantastic food. Great service. Very intimate feel. Love the lack of tvs.
Definitely a hidden gem of King East.
Ardo is a true Italian dining experience.
From the moment that you walk in the door and are warmly greeted; to the excellent friendly professional service, to the outstanding food quality; to the warm thank you at the end of your evening, truly Italian.
Menu items are creative and expertly crafted for your table; cocktails are wonderful and the wine list has options for every palette that compliment the menu perfectly.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Dined at Ardo to celebrate a friend's birthday. The servers were great and attentive. The food was average, I was expecting to be more wowed.
The chef, however, was rude. He visited each table in the restaurant except ours and it's not like we were tucked into a corner. He even made eye contact with us, but continued to ignore our table. It could have been because we didn't order alcohol or another mysterious reason. Regardless, I was insulted and have no intention to patronize this restaurant or recommend it to my friends.
Always a very enjoyable experience!!
Ardo is a restaurant in my neighbourhood that I kept walking by but hadn't been in until the other night. I ordered the pizza which I would strongly recommend. My friend had the pasta which was delicious but she was still hungry afterwards. My biggest issue was that I felt VERY rushed. We weren't taking extremely long by any means, there were a few empty tables still, and no line etc. and yet the waitress was constantly over to take our order, even though we we just got there and were trying to say hi and chat for a couple of minutes and hadn't even looked at the menu. The food came SO quickly and then literally as I put the last bite of pizza in my mouth and she was grabbing the plates away and wondering if we wanted dessert. We didn't love the dessert selections and I was feeling stressed from rushing so we went elsewhere to enjoy a relaxed dessert where we could actually talk.
Great food and service, 2 hours flew by. Ben our waiter and the staff were great. I moved tables a few times, because I'm that way and they were great about it.
Awesome. As always.
Good atmosphere, good food. Service was excellent.
We went here before going to watch a comedy show at Sony Centre. The food was excellent and authentic Italian. I would highly recommend this place.
Wonderful food and service, but way too noisy. Don't know how the noise level could be improved because it is a tiny space. We would go again but try to find an off-peak time.
