ARDO Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Had the seafood salad to start, very good. I had the pizza with artichoke, semi dried tomatoes and arugula, highly recommended. My companion had the sausage pasta, it was good. We had the cannoli for dessert, go for it!
Absolutely delicious! The service was great and the food was amazing. Sat at the chef's table and everyone was very attentive to us. The owner of the restaurant gave us an appetizer on the house, which was nice. Definitely coming back to this restaurant.
The food was incredible. However, our waitress ignored us most of the night and we were seated right by the entrance and had customers on top of us and we're freezing anytime someone opened the door but there was nowhere for us to move. (They should probably get rid of that seat). We would still go back for the food despite the lousy service.
What a gem -- food was great, decent wine selection and reasonably priced wines by the glass. I've gone back here because of the consistency and the care the owner takes to visit with guests. The menu is simple yet creative - something for everyone.
The service was very good with a smiling engaging server. We mis-ordered one dish and the server happily changed it without complaint. The food was quite different from the usual fare so we experimented with food tastes. We were off to the Berkeley Theatre so the service was timely.
Probably one of my best experiences in the city. Fantastic food. Great service. Very intimate feel. Love the lack of tvs.
Definitely a hidden gem of King East.
Ardo is a true Italian dining experience.
From the moment that you walk in the door and are warmly greeted; to the excellent friendly professional service, to the outstanding food quality; to the warm thank you at the end of your evening, truly Italian.
Menu items are creative and expertly crafted for your table; cocktails are wonderful and the wine list has options for every palette that compliment the menu perfectly.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Dined at Ardo to celebrate a friend's birthday. The servers were great and attentive. The food was average, I was expecting to be more wowed.
The chef, however, was rude. He visited each table in the restaurant except ours and it's not like we were tucked into a corner. He even made eye contact with us, but continued to ignore our table. It could have been because we didn't order alcohol or another mysterious reason. Regardless, I was insulted and have no intention to patronize this restaurant or recommend it to my friends.
Always a very enjoyable experience!!
Ardo is a restaurant in my neighbourhood that I kept walking by but hadn't been in until the other night. I ordered the pizza which I would strongly recommend. My friend had the pasta which was delicious but she was still hungry afterwards. My biggest issue was that I felt VERY rushed. We weren't taking extremely long by any means, there were a few empty tables still, and no line etc. and yet the waitress was constantly over to take our order, even though we we just got there and were trying to say hi and chat for a couple of minutes and hadn't even looked at the menu. The food came SO quickly and then literally as I put the last bite of pizza in my mouth and she was grabbing the plates away and wondering if we wanted dessert. We didn't love the dessert selections and I was feeling stressed from rushing so we went elsewhere to enjoy a relaxed dessert where we could actually talk.
Great food and service, 2 hours flew by. Ben our waiter and the staff were great. I moved tables a few times, because I'm that way and they were great about it.
Awesome. As always.
Good atmosphere, good food. Service was excellent.
We went here before going to watch a comedy show at Sony Centre. The food was excellent and authentic Italian. I would highly recommend this place.
Wonderful food and service, but way too noisy. Don't know how the noise level could be improved because it is a tiny space. We would go again but try to find an off-peak time.
Service was excellent! Cocktails and food were delicious. The pizza is so delicate and cheesy. Husband and I left feeling full. I only wish the appetizers had larger portions; we had the acchiughe and grilled octopus.
ARDO is one of my fav Toronto restaurants! I love the atmosphere and the food. The Ragu is to die for :) If you have never tried it and you call yourself a foodie sham on you!
Toronto food scene is getting over crowded with restaurants trying to do too much, and Italian restaurants for the most part are predictable and dare I say boring. Along comes Ardo as a breath of fresh air. Genius in the simplicity of their menu which is not over bearing yet highly focussed on artisanal Sicilian dishes. Notables include Insalata di mare, grilled octopus and pizzzas to die for. We have found our new favourite go to spot.
Very good food and great service. Going back this week!
Planning a trip to Sicily so we went with friends to Ardo. Great bread and pasta. Don't miss the canolli.
Always great food and service
Great service, food, and ambiance. But when the bill came I was shocked by how overpriced the meal was. My friend and I shared a pizza starter, I had couscous and my friend had the fish of the day. Neither of us had anything to drink and the bill was for $108 without tip!
Had a lovely meal with a dear friend. The polpo, insalata cavolo, olives, and pizza margherita were excellent! The gnocchi were very good and the ragù was good. Desserts were excellent! Cassata, granita and cannoli. Excellent service from Jill. Really enjoyed the ambience of the casual open kitchen, youthful vibe and fresh, delicious food. Highly recommended.
Ardo is a delight. Food and service never disappoints.
Great little spot with interesting and tasty food. The eggplant and sardine toast appetizers and the spaghetti with sardines ( a Sicilian classic) main course were delicious as was the seafood couscous special.
Food was amazing, the owner came by and said hello. We loved it there. Great food
I love the concept of a Sicilian restaurant. We had an anchovy crostini, the pasta feature, and the carne feature. All were outstanding. Very simple flavours that were superbly executed. The cocktails were a bit underwhelming for the price, but that's a minor quibble.
Gnocchi with mushroom sauce is consistently amazing and is the main reason why I keep coming back. The arancino is consistently greasy but tasty. Apparently kale=romaine at Ardo as nary a leaf of it could be found in our (still flavourful) cavolo salad. Unlike previous visits, this time our server did not address me as "buddy" throughout the evening so, y'know, that's a plus.
The food was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Was introduced to this by a friend a few months back and glad we went back and took some more friends. Two of us has the Chefs special fish dish. Amazing. We'll be back again soon...
Our fish came cold they replaced it which was nice but that meant I was eating by myself...my pasta special was not how the waitress described it...the owner/ manager explained to us that fish wasn't cold but cooked almost rare...he was quite rude...won't go back it was expensive and service wasn't great. Too many restaurants in toronto for mediocre food and service
As usual, no disappointment at all for this gem. The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable regarding all the dishes and their recommendations useful. The ambiance was very intimate and warm.
Great restaurant great food and great service.
Do not miss the cannoli.
Food was great but the service was slow and the server wasn't very attentive.
Awesome atmosphere, beautiful and trendy decor, delicious food! Will absolutely come back!
Amazing restaurant! Great burrata-everything really was fantastic. Very reasonably priced menu. Will definitely return here. A great recommendation from a friend that proved to be correct!
After reading great reviews we decided to try Ardo. We were seated next to the kitchen which did little to enhance our evening.
The basket of stale bread created a poor impression from the outset. The table d'hote menu sounded interesting so we all ordered that at $49 p.p. We started with a chick pea flour tart which was described as being served with black kale and onion. Those items were a garnish which consisted of a sliver of onion and a square inch of fried kale--hardly worth mentioning.
The pasta course was a huge serving of timballo which was lasagna with cod and tomato sauce. It was served hot on the outside and not so hot in the middle. It was tasty but far more than any of us wanted to eat in anticipation of the "veal chop" main course that we had ordered. The chop consisted of a very small portion of veal sitting in a watery broth accompanied by half of a canned artichoke and a few slivers of onion. When I order veal chop, I envision a decent sized piece of meat on a bone, and in pricier restaurants I expect white veal. This was not anything resembling that.
Desert was a small scoop of ice cream with a soft biscotto.
Should have ordered a pasta dish since that is what constituted the bulk of our meal.
I loved ARDO. Not only was the food unique and creative it was also delicious and accompanied by some of the best service I've had in Toronto in the two years I've been here. I highly recommend.
Food was delicious. Will definitely be back. Sales were amazing , pizza was unbelievable. Waitress was a little slow with the food.
