Fantastic find in Ottawa. My friend and I just visiting for the weekend and so happy we found Arlo. Approachable and informative wait staff guided us to a perfect bottle of wine to pair with fresh and delicious oysters. The recommended entre of ocean perch in beurre blanc was well executed with all sorts of surprise veggies such as roasted radish and fresh corn kernels. Would love to have an Arlo in my home town.

The lardo sardine toast was the best thing that I have had this year. Fantastic and set the precedent for the rest of the meal.

What a perfect spot for a cozy date night! When we first walked in, the noise level surprised me a bit, but once seated in our corner booth, the ambiance was spot on. Whether it was luck or because I marked "date" on the reservation, the booth was ideal—quiet enough for conversation, and we loved not having a table between us. We decided to focus on wine and appetizers, which was a good choice since the portions are on the smaller side. The flavors and presentation more than made up for it, though! We tried the shrimp cocktail, the summer salad with stracciatella, and the crispy pork with fries. As someone with celiac, I was impressed by the variety of gluten-free options, and they even had a dedicated fryer for the fries, which was a huge plus. To top it off, we shared the flourless chocolate cake—one of the best gluten-free desserts I’ve ever had! The wine-by-the-glass options were limited, but as expected for a place focused on full bottles. I’m excited to return with a wine-loving group to explore a few of the bottles. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique and intimate night out!

I had the maitake dish. The mushroom steak was very juicy. However, the whole meal had one note, with not much variety in flavour or texture. We sat on the back patio which is a beautiful area with cute mood lighting. However, there was a concert happening on the street right next to us because of Pride so it was a bit loud. Nothing the restaurant could do about that though. The food and drink is costly. While I enjoyed trying Arlo, I don't think I'll be coming back too soon.

Amazing atmosphere, and excellent service. Our food was amazing. The only improvement we could note would be the dessert selection.
