Very impressed by the quality of food and service. Our first time there. Loved the chicken skins. Everyone was very satisfied with their order. We tried all the mains on the menu and was impressed by the balance of flavours. Definitely will be heading back.

This place is clearly wildly popular, so if you're looking for somewhere packed and energetic, go for it. But we found the food not to be on par with the price and reputation of Arlo (we've been several times before). We had the radicchio and pear salad, which was way too large, with too much cheese. We were stuffed. Suggestion: serve less of it and charge less. Also, the salad was completely unsurprising, I would even say bland. The pieces of pear were tiny and not tasty. The tuna tartare was ordinary and the chips that came with it were pretty dull and greasy. The crostini were either too salty or saltless. The lion's mane mushroom "steak" frites was innovative and tasty, and a highlight of the meal. But $42 for a plate of mushrooms and chips? Come on. The service was okay, a little dismissive maybe (again, considering how much we paid). I could see there were other, much better servers working that night, so we I guess that was the luck of the draw. I will put in a good word for some of the staff, especially front of house and bussing: they were super friendly and professional. So that was nice. Meanwhile, the noise level in the back room—which is a much less visually and aesthetically interesting experience than eating in the front room, again the luck of the draw—was so high that we felt we were in a club. I like an energetic restaurant, but the noise level really surprised me. We had to shout at each other, no exaggeration. In summary, there were a couple high points but we paid a bundle and had a meh (and at times annoying) experience.

Delicious food - especially the swordfish! Wish there were a few more entrées to choose from, and that the wine list included more bottles under $100. Also, a complimentary birthday treat would be a nice touch :) Thanks!

Great food, great service. Tables by the back patio window were a bit cold ( my partner thought it wasn’t) and the wine by the glass options did not raise to the quality of the food.

One of the best restaurants in Ottawa. The food is delicious. Can’t go wrong with any of the starters, mains or desserts. They also have a good selection of wines and cocktails. The staff is amazing too. Very friendly.

Drinks were good, wine selection was great as were the digestifs. Dinner was average, enjoyable but not overly inspired. Service was good; however, inattentive at times. Vibe was great, music and ambiance were very eclectic. Wasn't overly pricey, decent value for what we got.

I loved everything about my experience here! From start to finish it was absolutely incredible. The service, the food, the lighting, all of it! Thank you for having such an amazing veg option. The “steak” and frites was the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long time. Please keep it! I’ll be back often.

My appetizer salad summer squash was a bit disappointing - tasted and looked like cucumber. The “steak” frites was just a grilled mushroom for $42 and the sauce was too rich. My friends really enjoyed the lamb and their appetizers though so I guess I just didn’t pick the right dishes! Service and ambience were great.

Food was inventive and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Area by the street side window was drafty. Appetizer, main dishes and wines by the glass were on the high side though it appears most restaurants in the same category as Arlo have also jacked up their prices beyond even grocery store food inflation.

Lovely place with cute decors and plants. We were seated by the window (best table ever) and the service was wonderful. Food was pricy but the portion was decent and it was delicious (I had the Cornish hen). Would be back again next time I’m in town.

We had a great experience, from cocktails to digestive. The Arctic Char tartare is remarkable. The new addition of the Cornish hen on the menu is a keeper, it was delicious! Excellent orange wine recommendation and pairing for our choices. We loved it!!

Nice vibe and friendly staff. Apps and mains were generally overpriced but the mains were delicious. Arctic char app had literally 2 tbsp or so of fish....and mushroom app...was literally a few sliced raw mushrooms with a vinegar drizzle. Each around $21-25! Wine list is interesting...but know what you want as server(s) made disappointing wine recommendations with the food. About $400 for three of us. Much better value found elsewhere.

Dishes were not well executed - under seasoned, overcooked, poorly presented and overpriced. Wines were pretty good but overpriced. Overall, poor value. I know that it's not cheap or easy to own/operate a small restaurant but please step it up.

We ordered an entree without mentioning a dairy intolerance. Once the entree came my wife realized that there was a sauce with dairy but tried to eat around it. Once the waiter found out he immediately checked with the kitchen and brought us a replacement without dairy, leaving the other behind. at no extra charge. This allowed me to have two delicious entrees for the price of one. Much appreciated.

We recently dined at Arlo for a small team meeting, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure our needs were met throughout the meal. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Eggplant Toast appetizer and my Flank Steak was done just right. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was exquisite. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, and I couldn't get enough. Overall, my dining experience at Arlo was fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with wine pairings, in a lovely atmosphere, and I can't wait to return to try more dishes from their menu.
