   Our first time at Aroma Meze. We had given ourselves 2 hour for our dinner (6:30-8:30). The waiter recommended 6 small plates for the both of us. Unfortunately, it was extremely slow even if only half the restaurant was full. At 7:45 we had two plates, the Ouzo shrimp (only two shrimps, one each) and the falafal. We had to request that the next 4 plates be served within 45 minutes in order to get to our candlelight concert. Of the 6 plates, two were very good the lamb tacos and the Shakshuka (merguez plate). Unfortunately, the ginger beef plate was cooked well done and chewy. If I could recommend they ask their clients what is their cooking preference for the beef. We will not be returning but happy we tried it.

   Loved it! We were dining with a vegetarian and someone with gluten issues and the server had each item tailored to meet their needs. Couldn’t have asked for better! Already told our friends we are going back.

   I was looking for Ottawa restaurants with gluten free options and Aroma Meze is one that showed up. There are so many dishes that I can eat and they were all incredibly delicious! So many incredible combinations of flavours. Our server was excellent and very polite. We are adding Aroma Meze to our date night restaurants for sure.

   Poor value for money - six small portions. Poor service - after an hour had only had two slices of beetroot. Server forgot drinks left us alone at the back of the restaurant. Seems they prioritize take aways. Will not be going back.

   The food was OK but not more than that. Basically the same as food that I prepare at home like olives, feta and pita, chicken kebabs, etc. The zucchini fritters were bland and needed garlic.

    Heard about Aroma Meze through a business associate and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located in an old house that has been transformed into a Greek style Tapas eatery. The ambiance was very nice, the food was absolutely amazing. We ordered a total of seven two person share dishes, from all three categories of garden, sea, and earth, and the flavours were incredible in every dish. Kudos to the chef!! Seating is a bit tight, and every conversation in the room was heard. Overall fantastic experience and will definitely recommend and return.

    I went to Aroma Meze with my husband and friends. I have celiac disease and the others do not, but we all had a fantastic meal of shareable tapas. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about celiac disease. Our server asked if anyone had any allergies or restrictions, and alerted the kitchen of my celiac and had them take all the necessary extra steps (thank you!). The food itself was very good. We shared six different tapas between us; each was delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The fish tacos and octopus were the big standouts, but everything was fresh and tasty. I totally recommend this restaurant for great food, great service, and a wonderful time. Fellow celiacs we have a winner! :)

    Another wonderful evening at Aroma Meze. The food was beautifully presented, fresh, hot and brought out at a pace that never made us feel rushed. We choose six dishes and it would be hard to choose our favourite (lamb tacos stand out as does the ginger beef tenderloin). We will be back again and again! Thank you for a memorable evening.

    The food is very very good. We loved the octopus, tuna , shrimp and beet tower And the filet was tasty. The fish taco was too thick and a disappointment. The servers get a five star. The restaurant offers god value for money. The Music is muted which is deeply appreciated. We will return.

    Good food and amazing service! The server explained the menu, gave us advice on the items that were good and he was very attentive. The menu has a lot of different options, a mocktail menu was available since they couldn’t serve alcohol (permit issue that was disclosed in an email before we got there, which was nice).

    We had such an amazing time at dinner. The staff were incredible and made us feel right at home, they were very helpful and friendly. The food was also incredible and very well priced for what you get, there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try that it was hard to narrow it down to just 8 (which honestly was still a bit too much for 2 people). The food is also very accommodating to dietary restrictions, almost everything was gluten free or able to substitute. Would definitely go back and cannot recommend enough.

    We booked Aroma Meze for my husbands birthday dinner. We attended with two kids (13/10) and 6 adults. This was not the restaurant for this dynamic. The concept of small plates served individually over the course of three hours was not what we expected. We wanted to order our dishes and have them come all at once. Some wanted one dish and while some wanted another. Each dish was brought out one at a time. So we took turns eating. A great concept for a couple with similar palettes but this did not work for our group.

    One of the pillars of a good restaurant is attention to detail. Having forgotten to renew your liquor licence is obviously one very major detail. So knowing you have no licence it would be prudent to inform everyone that had made a reservation. You didn’t do that. This was date night for me and my girl. She’s on her last year of a sommelier course. So sampling your wine list was on our bucket list. And yes, we were surprised. The alternative of paying $7 for a cocktail wasn’t really a great choice. Another couple that arrived after us, left because of the licence issue. The waitress claimed an email had been sent. I sure didn’t see that email although I note that I did get the email for “how did we do?” You could have given everyone a free couple of tapas items on your next visit to make up for your shortcoming. That would have made it a little bit more likely that we would return. So back to: attention to detail. A napkin sat on the floor at the table beside us for almost 10 minutes. We were sitting at the table in front of the empty fireplace. The draft from the fireplace made it a freezing zone. You had heaters on either side that did nothing to change that. Why didn’t you put the heaters in the fireplace? Over the last few months I’ve tried to get a table at your restaurant several times. I finally made a reservation 2 weeks ahead. My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to it. She claimed she enjoyed the night. I’m thinking she said that to be positive. I doubt she would give you anything close to 5 stars. Nor do I.

    Disappointing that there was no liquor license when we went. The octopus pas terrible. The pictures are not the reality. The beet tower was the best. Everything else was just good.

    I’d been meaning to hit up Aroma Meze for years and was not disappointed!! I don’t have a single negative thing to say about the experience. And surprisingly I found it to be great value for money! With the rising costs of eating out, I was shocked that our table of three could eat WELL for under $150. We each got a drink (virgin) and then ordered two plates from each section of the menu and a dip. Highly recommend this place - just keep in mind it’s small so best to make a reservation!

    Food is varied and very tasty. There was not much direction given on what is good or bad as well as specialties of the restaurant. Most of the food was great but the Greek Poutine was not as good and did not fit the style of restaurant. Overall was great. Just wish the portions of some of the great food such as shrimp Gnocchi were larger.

    Lovely restaurant and we were seated in a quiet room with only 3 tables. The bigger room was very busy. I love the concept of small plates to share. Great variety. Beautifully presented and delicious. Our server was so friendly. It is pricey, so maybe not an everyday restaurant but totally worth the experience. My favorite Ottawa restaurant!!

    We went for a Valentine's Day dinner with a special set menu. I don't remember the last time I've had such a poor experience at a restaurant - especially for the price. The menu was 6 "courses", we had the asparagus soup, the oysters, the mushrooms, the sweet potato pave, the beef tenderloin, and the sorbet. Service was extremely slow, and yet all the food came out barely warm. Aside from being lukewarm, the dishes ranged from not good to just passable. Very little flavour, and poor plating. Waitstaff were friendly enough, but the ambiance was bleak, nothing redeeming about this place, will not be coming back.

    The menu had an eclectic mix of items to choose from. We ordered four dishes between two people and a dessert and everything was wonderful. Our only suggestion would be to add a lime wedge to the pulled lamb tacos.
