Our reservation was for 6:30 pm. We were not seated until 7 pm. I find that unacceptable. Food was fine but not exceptional, wine and desserts were over priced. Once we sat down the service was good.

Second visit here in the past month. Wonderful overall experience. A Saturday night in December is always busy and we were quite surprised at how full it was and how energetic the noise level was. (First experience was mid week and a bit calmer). Very attentive service add delicious meal.

This was our first time at the restaurant, and we are happy to have found it. The waiter should have checked in with us at least once during our meal instead of after the meal offering dessert. Our entrees arrived surprisingly fast while we were still drinking our pre dinner drinks. There should have been more spacing because we would have had a glass of wine with dinner, but we were never asked. The young lady, serving bread and water was outstanding and very attentive. We will go back.

The food was delicious. We were able to order with no-salt and low carb. We had crab cakes and grilled calamari for appetizers. We had Tortellini Ricotta Spinach and the salmon. We also had a mint cucumber vodka martini (forgot the name). It too was very good. Very reasonably priced, great service. It’s a regular spot for us.

We had a Saturday dinner reservation for 7:45pm and checked in or 15 minutes early. Upon check-in, we discussed that were requested a specific table area, and when that area became available, the table was given away to other people who were walk-ins. We waited an hour…!

We were seated 25 minutes after the reservation time. Despite our complaints nothing was done beyond pretending (only five more minutes). Upon being seated we were not promptly given menus nor was order taken quickly. We got waiter to take our order. During the meal, bus people continued to come by and try to clear our table. I said “we’re not finished” but they continue to come. I complained to the manager who blamed the wait staff. Dessert order was initially forgotten. Waiter said “I told him (Bus boy) and he forgot” Then I asked the waiter were the dessert was I asked twice. Finally I said you must go note and get the cake. It’s not being backed. He returned bringing food for another table. We then just walked to the desk and said get me the bill. The waiter came and said he wasn’t charging us for the dessert (which were never received) I explained to the waiter that for the first time in my life I was not going to tip. That it was not his fault. I explained to the manager that I was appalled that nothing had been done to address our complaints. He just looked blank. In short. They didn’t honor our reservation in time and the service went down from there.

overwhelmed - service slow - food quick not a good sign - had been precooked and served cold for my friend - dried and tasteless in the case of my eggplant parmigiana which i thought the best i had had the last time - spiritless tomato sauce -the complimentary cheese and salami arrived at the same time as the food - and this was at 5:15 or 5:30 - they said the holiday season had started - ate outside in July and was delightful - would go back but not sure when ....

The meal went well except for the giant water bug that alighted on our table running all over the tablecloth before the waiter could finally get it away and dispose of it. Needless to say this was a shock and would have been nice if he had offered us something to lessen this incident. I also have noticed that there isn't a manager on duty during the week at lunch which would be a good thing when something like this happens. And I noticed that the tablecloths are not changed between diners. Is this correct form?

Great weekday lunch. Started with a small dish of salami, parmesan and olives. Warm bread served in a small cast iron pan. Moved on to beet and goat cheese salad, chicken piccata and then tiramisu. All accompanied by a bottle of bubbly water. Very good food at a a terrific price.

Food was absolutely fantastic. Loved the gnocchi and eggplant Parmesan! This place is a very underrated gem of Italian restaurant in the city. Desserts also amazing. Loved the affogato and lava cake!!

Arrived for my reservation and was told we had to sit outside . I told them we made reservation but it was for outside . I never requested outside as it is summer in NYC. After some discussion we were put in a private room which was nice but not in the restaurant. Food and service were good but extremely disappointed with open table !

Crab cake appetizer was very good as was the chicken piccata (spinach & mashed potatoes too!) The decaf cappuccino was delicious! Our waiter was attentive and friendly! I am handicapped and use an electric scooter. The restaurant provided a portable aluminum ramp for the scooter to navigate the 2 steps into the restaurant. Not ideal but manageable with help from the restaurant personnel. I would recommend this restaurant especially to those who do not have mobility issues!

Arte cafe is always a good choice for a reasonably priced local Italian food … we all enjoyed our meal and the ambience is pleasant . I wish they had a risotto on the menu … but the pasta and pizzas are always good and very tasty

We booked a table during NYC restaurant week. My husband chose the pork entree and found it dry, our server warned him that might be. I chose pappardelle pasta with lamb shank it was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable about the wines and dinner offerings.
