The food was substantially worse than the last time we ate at an Atlas restaurant. It was disappointing. Our waitress was amazing though, she apologized throughout the night and tried her best to take care of us. She was an older blonde haired lady. She saved the night. - RB

The food at Atlas was delicious. We both had a filet of beef which was fabulous, along with Caesar salad, an appetizer and cheesecake that was offered in their Dine Out Vancouver menu this year. - OT

It was my girlfriend and I 3rd year anniversary and I have got to say that the man who served us was spectacular! We both loved every minute at the restaurant where everything was made really well. I am also very grateful for the staff members to give us a dessert for free since it was a special occasion. 11/10 would come back again - EH

Dining out Vancouver menu - food was excellent, as we have become accustomed to at Atlas. Nice touch with the amuse bouche and I really enjoyed the wine pairing as well. Great way to try new wines. Service was wonderful and we sat near the kitchen, so it was fun watching the pace & activity. Great value for three courses, something for everyone and we will be back. Thanks! - KH

I rarely leave reviews for anything. However, my experience at Atlas Steak and Fish deserves all the positive superlatives. I treated my mom as it was her birthday and as soon as we were seated, we were greeted with such friendliness and warmth by Brigitte, our server for the evening. We ordered some items from the Happy Hour, which was phenomenal (in both the taste and quality). Then we proceeded to order our meals from the Dine Out Vancouver menu, which was amazing (again, in taste and in quality). As much as the food was exceptionally good, both my mom and I were extremely impressed by Brigitte's customer service and her genuine love of her job, making sure her customers have great food and great service, all the while making us feel not pushed or pressured in any way. Atlas usually has a seating rule of maximum 2 hours per table per reservation. Since my mom and I ordered a lot of food (and still needed time to eat such food), we surpassed our seating hours, but Brigitte did not push us or hurry us to finish our courses. For me personally, I have some food allergies and Brigitte made sure to tell the chefs and she notified me for each item what was modified or what wasn't modified to accommodate my allergies. What topped it off for the evening was a sweet surprise for my mom, which I did not request in advance, plus a short heartfelt note to my mom wishing her not only a happy birthday but a year full of blessings. I don't mind paying a tad extra for great quality of food and great service, so all in all Atlas deserved every penny I paid for the meal. Thank you so much for an awesome evening of food and celebrations! I'd give 10+ stars if I could :) - CF

Went there for a birthday celebration, and was told that the Tomahawk steak would take 45 minutes to cook and we didn't budget the time, so we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't try it this time. Now we know when we come again to call ahead of time. We ended up ordering their spicy lobster spaghettini and the grilled New Zealand lamb sirloin. I do like the spagettini as the tomato sauce was super flavourful. The lamb was okay, nothing outstanding in terms of flavours, and the portion was a bit too small. We really like our server (sorry - I didn't catch her name!). She checked on us often, and made sure things were done the way we liked. She also gave us free desserts to celebrate our birthdays! I would come back to try their steaks as "steak" is in the restaurant name. - JS

We dine here quite often since the service is usually excellent and we like the upscale atmosphere but this time the red meat entrees were inedible due to over smoking (right through) the prime rib and tomahawk pork chop as well as the potatoes. We should have known witnessing a large burst of fire from the smoker as some of our party were facing the open kitchen. Our prime rib, pork chop and potatoes should not taste exactly like the Jasper Smoked Chicken (yes we have ordered almost all the meat entrees at Atlas so we know). We were disappointed yet again when our gracious waiter liased with the manager and came back with the offer of 1 complimentary dessert when 2 entrees went back barely touched. The other 2 entrees were doggie bagged literally fed to our dogs. Although it may have been an isolated incident we are disappointed with the kitchen staff and management. We will skip Atlas for a while but it’s too bad as we did dine there quite often due to business and leisure. C’est la vie! - BD

The place itself is wonderful and the piano player makes the ambiance even more enjoyable!!! the steak was awesome - pricey but extremely tasty!!! Roasted vegies - not again. Truffle fries - amazing and sooooo many - loved them!! brought home the extra. Fresh buns were a very nice surprize with blue cheese flavored butter - loved it! Oysters were presented in a most impressive manner - and were very very good. I do wonder why Atlas asks if it is a special occasion because, altho l indicated when I reserved - we were there for a birthday, nothing special was offered???? The server also asked if we were there for a special occasion - I would have thought she would have noticed that when she checked our reservation??? Anyway, that was the extent of our 'special occasion' - nothing! I do love the place though and we will definitely be back - I'll just suck up the negative thoughts I have today. - VL

Our family experience yesterday evening turned frightening! We took our sons there for dinner to celebrate their birthdays. They were nice enough to give us desserts. I had asked our server if there are peanuts in the dessert as both boys have peanut allergies. Right away he answered "NO PEANUTS" put down the plates and walked away. While eating one son's tongue began to swell, his throat felt funny and his stomach began to hurt and my other son was running to the bathroom to toss his cookies. They were served the Chocolate PEANUT BUTTER marquis bar!!! My sons have never tried peanut butter so would not know what it tastes like and thought it was just chocolate mousse cake. One son, ended up in hospital. Meds, IV, and another epi pen and several hours later he was a bit better and was discharged but he looks pretty bad today still. How can a server NOT know the dessert he was serving! Needless to say , this is truly unacceptable! - F

The atmosphere made it. We were sat at a giant round table for just the 2 of us, which was perfect. The service was exceptional — server Fitz really cared. Food was above average but not the selling point for us. Beef carpaccio was great and the desert trio was good. The ambiance was seriously so nice. Loved it! Would go back. - KJ

My family and my friends went there to celebrate my birthday. We made reservations at 4pm so we could enjoy happy hour to 5pm and start dinner. Even though we were told there are 2hours seating limit, we left at 7pm and no one rushed us. The server I have been met for twice. He is very helpful and always quickly responding. The food is still keeping good. So I have been there three times but I will still go. I think it’s a great place for family gatherings and also dating. - L

Atlas' foods were good as usual, the server was good enough to arrange for a quiet table as we have requested. This was our third time to Atlas in Burnaby. If it wasn't for our prior experiences, it would have been our last. The restaurant wasn't that busy (about 20% full when we arrived), got fuller as we dined. Our server was rude, inattentive. Basic courtesies were just missed. I don't see us returning anytime soon...and if we're assigned to one of her tables, we'll be moving. - JB
