Corn, the basis of the Mexican cuisine for thousands of years, is also the foundation of our kitchen. I rarely post about my restaurant and food experiences but our dinner night out at ATX Covina was absolutely amazing! The food was so well prepared and delicious. We had several apps and two main courses. The food was so rich in flavor and couldn’t have been any better. Also, the Som (can’t recall his name), he was very nice with my wife who was looking for an organic, sulfite-free wine and he delivered. We’ll definitely be going back as we previously loved Comedor as our go to modern Mexican place but this will be our new spot moving forward. We did a show at ACL after dinner so just walked the 3 mins to get there.

This is an excellent restaurant, the serves incredible, high-end, Mexican-inspired cuisine. Service is always great. It is loud, so not the place if you want to have a particularly intimate dining experience.

I went here as a treat for my friend’s birthday. The server was great and the food is always great. I hadn’t been to atx cocina for a few years but it didn’t disappoint. I’ll definitely be back!

Phenomenal experience at ATX Cocina. It had been a long time but it was even better than we recalled! The octopus/chorizo, carne asada and Brussels sprouts were so well prepared with an incredible flavor profile. We will be back sooner! Our waiter Antik (so?) was very helpful. Even the valet was spot on bringing our car around without the ticket, remembering us from the drop off.

Put simply, our time was UH MAZ ING! From start to finish. Ease of making the reservation. Warm welcome by hosts. Attentive waiter. Passionate about the menu and detailed explanations EXCELLENT food! Every. Single. Bite. Everyone in the dinner party raved about their meals and were already planning for their next visit when they return to ATX. Each of them were first timers and I love they felt the same way I did when I visited for the first time last summer. It also continues to impresses me that staff return to the restaurant when they aren’t working! This speaks volumes to the kind of culture you all are creating and I celebrate it. I’ll continue coming back and telling others about the incredible work you’re doing!

We were celebrating our 29th anniversary and were made to feel special upon checking in. Our server Marissa was knowledgeable, efficient and kind. We didn’t feel rushed, the food was excellent as always, and a comped dessert and card from the staff was a lovely touch!! We have been here several times and will continue to support this wonderful restaurant in ATX!! Thank you ATX Cocina for a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary!!

Our food was absolutely amazing… once we got it. Cocktails were amazing… once we got them. The restaurant was super busy so waiting is understandable, but we were virtually ignored. Sat with empty drinks constantly, which then took 25+ min to get a new drink. The whole dinner took almost 2 hours for TWO of us to eat. Lastly, which was the most bizarre, we asked for the check and the server immediately started clearing the plates. No “are you still enjoying your food” or “can I take these out of the way for you”- just grabs our silverware with food still on the plate and we had to ask her to leave them. But she still cleared mine but left my partners?? I guess she thought we only meant his? But took the main plate we were sharing from. Idk, just bizarre. Hard to recommend when the service overall was such a disaster but the food really was incredible.

Although our server was very friendly, we had to wait almost 30 minutes before he arrived to greet us. The restaurant was so loud we can barely hear our dinner guests sitting across the table. Food was only fair. Steak dishes were cooked well but lack any excitement. The whole fish dish was unique and tasty. Drinks were only OK. Did not understand the hype. Most likely would not come back.

Their communication and the accommodation offered by the restaurant were not sufficient, as to why we needed to move or cancel our reservation. We were moved to a small counter by the restroom, it was barely enough room to fit our entrees. Very disappointed

AMAZING! My 2nd time here, and I had to bring my family. The beef queso Is a MUST plus the whole cod, salmon, and short rib meals were absolutely phenomenal. We had an amazing waiter as well! He was fantastic.
