Great alternative to pricey Montclair lol. Really nice menu, get the truffle fries! Service wonderful.
Great service, Delicious food and 1/2 price bottles of wine! What could be better?!
Great food! Good vibe. But very loud. Would go again.
Booked a table with another couple for an adult dinner. When we arrived, we found the entire restaurant (but for our table) had been given over to some school’s fundraiser with tickets being sold at the door. That’s fine but you should have warned us in advance or closed to public … and don’t put 4 people in the middle of a noisy room in the midst of someone’s loud private party. Kinda violated Restaurant Management 101. We left and went to an excellent restaurant nearby that is better managed. Bye bye.
Food menu was varied and the portions were appropriate. noise level at times due to loud music needed to be turned down somewhat
SO LOUD. Food was good. Typical pub fare. Our server was really nice and on top of things. Maybe I'm old but dance club music is just not what I want to hear while I'm eating. Likely won't be back.
Made a reservation for two earlier in the day. Upon arrival, we were seated by the hostess at a high top with bar stools. Not exactly what I expecting. Asked the hostess if we could switch out the bar stools for the empty bar chairs. Very reluctantly and accompanied with serious attitude she accommodated my request. The food was good, but the hostess ruined it for me. Maybe they should learn how to “read” their customer base. Wasn’t going in for drinks after the a game. I know restaurants are stretched thin these days and we try to eat locally, but if I go back, it may just be for a couple of drinks after a game.
Just ok - nothing to write home about. Orders took really long to get to the table and came out wrong multiple times.
Really nice expansive menu. Music and noise level is high. Service was very responsive. Food was terrific.
Stopped here early at 4:30 with 2 friends before a concert. One is a vegetarian so she had a salad. The other had the margherita flatbread. Both looked good and they were satisfied. I had the hot chicken sandwich-very tasty. Prices were fair for what we ordered. They have a small bar and lots of space. We were seated in a room by oursleves until we were almost ready to leave which we appreciated. Good place for a quick bite in the area.
We waited 50 mins for our food and had a hard time tracking our waiter down. There were only 4 other tables outside and everyone was also waiting a long time for their food. Asked for salt multiple times and the waiter never brought it out.
Great food, great atmosphere! We loved the outdoor seating! Our server was very attentive. Would definitely visit again.
A disappointing experience. We were excited to meet our friends here for Happy hour and dinner. We got one round of drinks and appetizers, which were all great (mac and cheese bites, potatoes, flatbread etc.) Then the server just seemed to ignore us. There were other patrons, but the place was not packed. After several minutes of waiting to put in the rest of our order, we just asked for the check and left. Too many other choices to meet friends for drinks versus going back here.
Great food! Great atmosphere! I loved the outdoor patio. My friends and I had a fabulous time! Service was great! Would definitely visit again!
I met a friend at Avenue Bistro, the reincarnation of it at least and found that we could sit in the open air area in the back to avoid a crowded dining room and the loud music playing (at least loud for a hearing-impaired person - me!). The hostess was helpful and gracious. The wait staff person came right over with menus and took a drink order. The outdoor eating area has a roof and open walls so one is not subject to most weather issues.
My friend and I each had the onion soup and a different salad with grilled chicken. The soup was extraordinarily delicious as was our salads. The grilled chicken was served as larger pieces than slices and was done perfectly. Of course, we had to have a side of perfect onion rings with the salads. The waitperson was attentive but not overbearing or rushed, and we thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. So glad Avenue Bistro is back!
The renovation was a great improvement. Good food and service. Very energetic crowd.
Upscale bar food, different menu, it' also nice that when possible they open up the front windows making indoor dining almost outdoor dining. Outdoor bar looks great, hard to get seating though.
The food and service are always good. Great drinks coming from the bar! Great local spot as well as a nice place for a first date.
Great place, service and food.
If you are looking for a terrific martini; friendly, efficient service; and good food, this place is for you. I'd stick to their appetizers and burgers, that's the sweet spot.
Food was good, service was so so, cocktails were great.
Food was great and service was excellent, only complaint was that it was noisy inside due to the acoustics….highly recommend the salmon!
The service was excellent. The prices were extremely high, and the drinks were pretty watered down. The food was good.
Found this place while I was driving stopped in and was super pleased food staff Excellent would recommend it
Great outdoor setting. Wait staff was excellent. Food is good but not exceptional.
First time trying since new owners. Very different. So loud inside hard to have a conversation. Drinks had to be sent back as Martinis not their specialty. Food was good, limited bar food. Service was slow and had to ask for water several times. Too bad this is another loud bar. We could use some fine dining in the area.
Sat at the bar to watch the game and have some dinner. Service was a little slow but food was spot on as always.
My friend and I went for brunch. Excellent brunch menu and wonderful bar drinks!
Used to love this place. Haven’t been in a couple years so I don’t know if it changed owners or something, but the menu has shrunk, the quality of the food as well as the service have gone way down, and the vibe went from “upscale bar & grille” to “it probably turns into a club after 11pm.” So disappointing- all four entrees at our table were mediocre to poor. Won’t be back. The “Keepin’ My Sunny Side Up” cocktail should be taken off the menu - borderline undrinkable.
Our reservation which was made for a standard indoor seating was not honored right away. The hostess wanted to sit us in the patio when we said no she then wanted to sit at a hightop. Had to remind her that the reservation was made for standard seating. She was a little annoyed that we wouldn’t take the first two options that she offered. The service was very slow waited extremely long for a burger and a salad. When asked for extra dressing it never came. Very disappointed in the whole experience.
Great outdoor area, food was delicious. Would be fun place on Sunday for football!!!
We have come several times Joe is great. It is way too loud inside - we sat outside this time which was better but it took for ever to get our food and it was not up to par. The speed of food is a constant issue every time even brunch! And the kids food was cold. You need to work on your kitchen expediting or take less tables as you are unable to get food out in a timely manner. We want to support you and we have had good food at past visits.
Crowded and noisy. Service was fine. Food was over cooked and greasy.
Great food and drink options available. Server was good. Since restaurant is open to outdoor eating area we had a problem with flies which was a little turnoff
Really good food. Service was slow for drinks. Took a bit for dessert and cappuccino. Would go back.
Food is solid bar/bistro fare and the bar is well stocked. Only complaint is the floors are all marble tile which makes it extremely loud inside. Having a normal conversation or hearing the waiter is very difficult, especially if anyone in your party is older or a bit hard of hearing. They have a spacious outdoor dining area and if the weather is conducive I would recommend sitting out there.
They do not honor open table reservations! I have been coming here weekly this summer, and my open table reservations are never honored. I usually end up waiting with all the walk-ins, or get a table indoors when I request outdoors, or they are unable to seat me. Also the food is not great. Bartender in the back (outside) is super friendly.
Great service, great food! We'll definitely go back.
I really wanted to like this place but they missed the mark. Maybe because it was busy and servers did their best to keep up. I must say as dinner progressed service greatly improved. Average bar food at best. “1/2 price” sangria $17? Got 2 1/2 wine glasses from the pitch because it was filled to the brim with ice. I would recommend for drinks and appetizers at the bar while watching sports.
