   Fun wine bar on South Lamar! Good happy hour deal (50% off bottles under $100), helpful server, and chill atmosphere. Food selection is a little random but the burger was good! Parking is fine, the lot fills up quick but there is more parking nearby.

   What a gem. Place was not crowded and servers were very attentive. Wines were so good. Every recommendation was fabulous. The food was shareable and each item better than the last. The tostada was delectable. Not rushed at all, we were able to linger over our final glass.

   Overall, they did a really nice job. The wine list is interesting and global, and corkage is allowed. The small courses were beautiful, creative, and delicious. One of the larger dishes we wanted was 86ed, so we ordered an alternative which was only OK - not visually appealing and needed some brightness. Finally we ordered cheese for dessert which took a very long time to come out and was simply a few cut wedges and a scoop of apple butter - very underwhelming. For such an amazing start to the meal, it was unfortunately to have it end on a lesser note. But overall, I think they are doing good things and will come back.

   Our second visit and we definitely need to make this place a regular hangout. The food is exceptional as is the extensive selection of wines. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable….what more can you ask for!!

   I love Aviary! The menu is small and changes often, but I can always trust the chef to delight with a unique collection of meat, fish, cheese and veggie dishes based on whatever is fresh at the time. And they are very cautious of allergies if your dining mate has any. On this last visit, I had oysters. They were dressed beautifully, in a way I’ve never had oysters. The amberjack tostadas and Asian inspired beef dish were also excellent. The wine selection and recommendations are top-both, too.

   We reserved a table outside without realizing how loud it was along Lamar Blvd. We decided to sit indoors at the bar, which was fine. Not a huge menu selection but everything we got was delicious! There is a faint smell of chemicals due to the nail salon in the same shopping center and the place is small so when it’s full, it can be loud.

   My partner and I had dinner here last night and, we had such a good time. They’re HH is 1/2 OFF wines under $100. We did a fun side by side tasting. And the food was incredible! The patio is super cute too. Grace was awesome. Super attentive and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great time!

    Such a unique food and wine menu. It's hard to find unique menus in Austin these days, and this is that "neighborhood" restaurant that isn't part of a larger umbrella of restaurants that rarely exists in Austin these days. I need to come here more often.

    A group of us were visiting from out of town and I discovered Aviary via Eater Austin. The server explained that the dishes are small plates meant to be shared. They were very accommodating for two of us in the group with dietary restrictions (GF and Pescatarian). We ordered several (5-6) dishes and most were very delicious. The one problem I had with the service is they would bring out a dish without any serving utensils. There were five of us and we didn't all of us to be dipping our forks which we're eating with into a communal dish. We repeatedly had to ask for serving spoons for each of the dishes.

    We had the same waitress as last time, Soleil, which was fun. The treat of complementary bubbly for our anniversary was a nice touch, thank you. Food is excellent as always, very creative, and the small plates are perfect size. You added more Italian wine options which we greatly appreciated. But we couldn't afford a bottle like last time. There was nothing under $80. However, we enjoyed trying a couple glasses of different ones Soleil recommended and that tiny caramel dessert was the perfect finish. Everything was so good I forgot to take photos of our food!! Your outdoor patio is beautiful!

    One of our favorite places! Always see some unique wines our their menu. The one from Croatia this time was a nice light one and we enjoyed the egg and carrot salad quite a bit as well.

    Not too bad but nothing too spectacular. A bit overpriced for what you get. I’d probably go back for happy hour but that’s about it. Enjoyed the playlist and the service was solid but nothing that I’d go out of my way to recommend. I’d give it a 3.7.

    Overall this place is exceptional, with some minor misses. They have a great selection of wine, though they don't carry a wide variety of liquor or beer. Food: Braised beef and aviary egg were excellent (I don't remember having anything this good in several years), beef tartare decent but slightly oversalted. Pasta was mediocre: pasta itself seemed to be house made, but the sauce was not a good match (too acidic and garlicky).

    I've lived in South Austin forever and just was sleeping on this place... maybe I judged it b/c of it's location... I don't know. But I read a review in Infatuation recently and decided to try it out. ...and now I can't wait to go back. We absolutely loved it. Great, simple food that feels elegant in a cute, cozy restaurant kind of way.

    We always enjoy Aviary. A lot of thought and care goes into the delicious meals. Creative and healthy ingredients. Cabbage fans must try their appetizer. We also enjoy the pork loin, roasted carrots, and beet cake.

    We went on NYE and had the Chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Each course was wonderful...creative, delicious and beautifully presented. Our server Soleil seemed to thoroughly enjoy explaining each to us, which added to the evening's overall experience. She was great! The short rib entree is also on their regular menu, and we would go back just for that. The restaurant is small and rather casual. It's amazing what comes out of their kitchen.

    Service was excellent. Attentive and recommendations for food/wine pairings were spot on. The food was unexpected, in the best possible way, particularly the carrot cake and sunchoke ice cream. It's always fun to discover a new food (in this case sunchoke) when eating out!

    Remarkable dining experience! It was a drizzly night, and we needed a restaurant with outdoor dining for us and our pooch. The staff was incredibly accommodating. What followed were some of the most amazing dishes. The short rib was beyond amazing. Don't pass up the Aviary Egg as a starter. Everything we ordered was incredible...am I raving too much?! And a varied wine list. We were raving the next day regarding the food and our dining experience. This chef knows what he's doing by creating innovative dishes that will linger in your memories for years. Aviary is now on our list for dinner every time we are in Austin.

    We had to move inside due to the traffic noise, but that's not Aviary's fault - Austin traffic is heavy!! Our server, Brittney, was excellent. Friendly, helpful, accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious!! From the home fries and smash burger, to the burrata, red fish and roasted beets, we loved every bite!! The only suggestion I have is for better, reasonably priced wines. We loved the wine menu descriptions - very clever and fun - we just couldn't get what we really wanted. We wanted a nice Cab but the only one that I found to fit our desire was $300!! There was nothing else that fit the flavor profile we wanted. We settled on a couple of bottles of ok Malbec that was way overpriced. The other two sample tastes we got were not good at all. Better wine would make this a top notch place!!
