Celebrated mother's day at Axels. Buffet was expensive, but delicious and full of choices. We really liked the sauces that the carver had. Server was very nice and helpful.

My wife and I went for dinner on a Friday evening with a reservation. Took over 10 minutes for us to be greeted after we were seated. Then another 10 minutes for drinks after we ordered them. Once entrees and app order were placed waitress went AWOL. Had to flag down other waitress for drink refills. Food was hot and fresh, but was not accurate per the order. Entirely missed the crab cakes I ordered and paid for.. Waitress was nowhere to be found in this small establishment. Sad.

The quality of food is really starting to slip. I can say this as I noticed it last time, but gave it another try in hopes it was not the new norm. The popovers were barely warm, the fish tacos were not tasty and the double shell was way too chewy to get through. Wait staff was not familiar with current wine offerings, it was just not a stellar experience.

For the price we were very disappointed in the food!! Only had French toast that was tough, no pancakes or waffles. Too many desserts, salads were soggy, should’ve had cheesy hash browns and sausages!! We will never go again. Way to expensive!!

The lamb was terribly overcooked and dry (ahh, where was the mint jelly for the lamb?? Stores carry it, why didn't Axel's buy a jar??); the pastries and rolls were stale and dry; smoked salmon was so dry it was crusty; breakfast potatoes (regular and pork belly) were cold; english muffin under the eggs benedict was so tough it had to be sawn with a knife to cut; the desserts were stale. I heard another customer mention that the french toast was soggy (I didn't have any, thankfully). The only good parts of the Easter Buffet were the fruit which was fresh and tasty and the grilled vegetables (partially grilled at least - let's say they were more-or-less edible. We've always been very pleased with Axel's holiday buffets in the past, but this one was downright TERRIBLE. The waitress mentioned they had a new chef. In my opinion, Axel's ought to make him/her a "former" chef after the pathetic food offerings on Easter. To say we were disappointed with the Easter buffet would be a gross understatement. And to think that Axels then had the audacity to include a mandatory 20% "service charge" on the bill with a separate line for a "tip." We've crossed Axel's off our list of restaurants we want to return to in the future. Never again.

The Easter brunch was average at best. Nothing stood out. For example pork belly hash sounded good. Did not find any pork in it. All potatoes and onions. The eggs benedict had tiny little eggs that looked like they came from a box. The "pastry" table had all full sized muffins, croissants and carmel rolls which made it difficult to sample without wasting. Here too the croissant I took looked like it was taken from a box 5 minutes before being put on the table.

The Easter Brunch had a pricetag of $49.99 per person. I expected much more and a much higher quality of the dishes served for that price point. The lamb and beef tips were overdone, and most of the dishes that should have been hot were cold. The quality at Axel's has definitely gone downhill.

The noise levels was VERY high, we could only visit with the individual next to us. Likely the restaurant is short staffed unfortunately however, the service was slow and the food delivery even slower. My husband had to go to the bar to ask for water refills, there were tables that sat next to us with dirty plates on them for the entire time we were there. We discretely put some of our plates on those tables because we were running out of room on our table. We likely will not be back, the experience was not worth the time and money spent.

The food was good but limited for some items. Prime Rib was not offered every day of the week. The waitress was not attentive to our party. We had to ask for service at times. We probably will not go back to the Roseville Axles. We have always liked the Mendota Axles and will go back to them.

We had the best time. It was snowing outside, but our happy hour was fabulous. Rachel served us superbly—good drinks, amazing crab cakes and wings. All at a price that can’t be beat. Missed the fireplace that used to be there, but had our own on-table light for ambiance.

The service was horrible. We ordered the bbq ribs and pork chop with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The quality and flavor of the food was poor. The only good thing was the freshly made tortilla chips and the guacamole we ordered as an appetizer, but they only give you a tiny bit of guacamole. We wanted dessert but were afraid it would be as bad as the first part of the meal was. My partner and I had a gift card for our meal, but we agreed that if we ever get another one, we will be giving it away. We didn’t even eat half of our meals, but we brought the rest home to feed to our dogs for a treat.

Prime Rib was very tough, tasteless and overpriced. Mushrooms were served in a bowl of water that could have just come from a can. The carrot cake was dry. Waitress was very nice and efficient without being overbearing. Moderate amount of noise made conversation difficult at times. Won’t be coming back.

Waited quite while to be seated and for servicer to bring menu. Coconut shrimp was good and had very meaty ribs. Server did a fine job. Surprised how there were very few customers considering it was the day b/4 Valentine's Day. We thought it would be very busy considering there were only 2 openings for reservations. Made reservations on Open Table on the Saturday night before Valentines Day on the spur of the moment 30 minutes before wanting to sit down. Axels had a table open and seated us immediately upon arrival. Our server was awesome. I ordered a steak dinner with a medium steak. It was tasty but was cooked more to medium well. Had no problem clearing my plate. The green beans and popovers were delicious as well.

Our reservation was at 7pm. We sat at the bar for 45 minutes watching the 1/2 full dining room and finally went back to bug the hostess before we got seated. We were both famished so we ordered right away, but finally got our food at just before 9pm. My wife's steak was great. The crab cake appetizer was ok. The sides were a little less than meh. The special menu grilled apricot salad was interesting and I did enjoy it. The special menu skirt steak was about one third hard grizzle. the rub and glaze were added an interesting flavor but for a $40 steak I wasn't impressed at all. Bottom line I'd recommend it for a traditional steak if you've got the time. For my buck though there are better options.

Omelet was ok. Toast and hash browns were underdone and mostly white. Garnish was wilted. French toast was tasty but not warm. We came for the brunch buffet, but it was pretty sparse and so we decided to order off the menu. Not sure either one would've been worth the money. Too bad as it's close to home for me.

Underwhelmed. We expected to show a couple from Minneapolis what Axel’s is like. This was nothing like the Mendota experience. All the food was cold. Except for one chicken sandwich. The other three meals? Cold. Drinks were forgotten until going to the bar to request them. Wine arrived in a glass that smelled of bleach. Fun.

Unfortunately they were short-staffed, didn't have a bartender, so the waitress had to look up how to make the specialty cocktails and attempt it herself. She did great, but it slowed service down. Then the hotel cleaners came to the entryway from the hotel and vacuumed the rugs! Really loud and obnoxious while we were eating. Food was wonderful, wait staff were really nice!
