We went for brunch and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff were so nice and even brought out a small cake with a candle for my husband like I had requested. We both loved the food and ambience. Would 100% recommend!
Good food. Welcoming staff. Good service. Middle Eastern style, but when it is from O&B it is very approachable. The Wine list is small but reasonably priced. The bar area is nice on a warm evening as they leave the windows open. The eggplant dishes were exceptional, as was the lamb shank. Recommended for a date night, or a fun evening with friends. Price was $225 with drinks, a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two mains and one dessert, tax, and a generous tip.
Had a lovely sunday brunch with a group of friends, everything tasted amazing, shakshuka’s was the favourite, our order had a little delay so the chef sent complimentary hammus and pita which was delicious and dont forget to ask for the nasty sauce if u like it hot! Would love to come back!
We enjoyed our dinner at Babel. Good quality food, service, and ambiance.
Been there a couple of times and found the food to be well prepared and not at all clichéd. I have the impression that a lot of thought goes into each dish and they change the menu often. Highly recommend for a dining experience that is interesting and different from the usual. Very friendly service as well.
This was my first experience and I'll definitely go back! The food was delicious. There's so many more items that I want to try on the menu.
Food, service and ambiance were all top notch! The service team was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations since it was my first time there. It’s a beautiful restaurant. The food and cocktails were equally beautiful and delicious.
Food was exceptional but service was lacking
The food was really good, I’ll definitely be coming back! Some useful feedback - The warm date cake was abit too sweet for me though and the cocktail could be stronger ;)
We booked for a birthday brunch. It was very chilly in the restaurant. Also, OpenTable says that this restaurant is in the Shops at Don Mills. We were disappointed to find it was not.
Servers and staff were friendly, however my beef was over cooked despite me asking for it to be served rare. Server also seemed inexperienced
I would highly recommend this place. Food was excellent along with the service. Worth the experience.
Absolutely delicious food! Unique flavours. Delightful staff. Easy parking!
This goes down as one of the best meals in recent memory. Their lamb shank main course is probably the closest this atheist will come to a divine experience. As a teetotaler, I appreciate that they took as much time and care in their mocktails as they did in their cocktails. The server was fantastic, there with recommendations when we asked and he couldn't hide his delight when my wife and I each chose our main courses: he said it's rare for first-timers to pick their two best entrees. I cannot wait to come back here.
The place is gorgeous inside. That’s #1. Incredibly kind host to start with us. Paid attention to my reservation note of it being a birthday. VERY IMPRESSED! Our waiter was incredibly on top of everything. Lovely food suggestions and just phenomenal table side manners.
A candle on desert which they did on their own!!! It does not get better than this!
Will go a million more times.
Cute brunch spot! Would recommend for anyone interested in halal brunch spot
O&B's latest venture in the Bayview and York Mills area is just what the post-pandemic lockdown foodies need. About the only issue is a slightly higher than normal sound level due to the number of hard surfaces in the space which made conversation a bit of a challenge.
Requested low salt food and was accommodated
My quests each had lamb shank and they loved it.
Dessert was insanely good
Was lovely experience fir about 8 visits in about 5 weeks
Highly recommend Babbel
1st time here Mom and I went for my Birthday and this certainly won't be the last. Ambience, food quantity and taste AmaZing! Genuine care and friendliness from the staff :) very much appreciated, thank you Erica, Jason, Chef and all else for your hospitality.
Had an amazing time! Akane was an incredible server - she made great recommendations and we were never without anything we needed. Chef Rosalin’s menu is soooo good! We shared lots of apps and four mains and loved everything - highly recommend the octopus, the eggplant and the falafel. Thank you for a great time!!!
Everything was great - food, service, ambiance - except the acoustics are bad so it's hard to hear.
Lovely staff and delicious food. Would definitely recommend. Lamb shank, grilled octopus and knafeh are must haves!
Not really Mediterranean food. Odd mix of flavours.
Server was great! Nice hidden spot in the area. Beautiful decor but wish the tables were 6 ft apart which they are not. A patron at the table next to us kept coughing and there was only a couple of feet between us and no partitions. Other than that, would definitely go again as the food, service and ambience were fantastic!
food was beyond delicious and beautifully presented.
Came here the second time to celebrate my friend's belated birthday and the food and hospitality exceeded my expectations. Our server displayed enthusiasm and friendly demeanour when introducing herself to us. She was the same server from my first experience at Babel and it was a delight to see her again.
My friend and I ordered two drinks of Fatima, the hummus and pita, slow-cooked chicken, and lamb shank. The drinks were phenomenal and refreshing for us to quench before the hummus and pita arrived. As always, the hummus and pita was delicious for us to share. It makes me not want to buy store bought hummus after eating their spin on hummus. The pita was served hot which makes it soft for us to chew on with the hummus. When the entrees arrived, the server asked us if we wanted smaller plates to share. I told her yes and she brought them over in a timely manner. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The dish for the slow-cooked chicken was delicious and flavoured with the right seasoning. The lamb shank was my personal favourite because it was cooked tender and flavoured with pomegranate. Everything about the lamb shank excited my taste buds because of the sweetness and tenderness of the meat. The components of the lamb shank complimented the meat perfectly. My overall experience at Babel was fantastic and welcoming for me! I will definitely come back to try their brunch menu in the near future!
One of the best breakfast I had in a very long time. Loved the food and service was perfect.
Thank you so much for your support!
Octopus was nice however the beef kebab was almost entirely spoiled by the overwhelming taste the accelerant used to start the fire. Kerosene/butane/ fire started coals used in the cooking. The taste was in my mouth for hours after the meal. For $200 there are much better options downtown
Great restaurant, very nice atmosphere. Food and service are excellent. Cauliflower is a must try as is the hummus and falafel.
Not great. Felt rushed. Felt like a burden- a concept that is ridiculous at 830 on a Saturday night. Won’t be returning.
Friendly customer service from the staff. Our Server recommended her favourite appetizers of the roasted cauliflower, and the hummus and pita bread. We loved everything about the two appetizer dishes and ordered another pita bread to finish off the hummus. The entrées that we ordered were the salmon, lamb burger, and the stracciatella rigatoni. We shared amongst the three of us and we loved each and every one of the dishes! We also had their burnt orange caramelized creme brulêe as the final dessert to finish it off. Definitely top notch and tasty! We will definitely come back for more!
Great food, excellent service, will definitely come back.
My 65th birthday. It was a treat from my daughter and son-in-law
Best falafels and fries in Toronto
We couldn't agree more! Thank you so much!
Had a wonderful time at Babel. The hummus was the best we’ve tasted…and we’ve tried a lot! We ordered the grilled octopus to share and then had the beef and lamb as our mains. Both amazing. The octopus was tender and very flavourful. The tomato jam was so nice. Loved the sauce on the kebab and the lamb was melt in your mouth/fall of the bone…. I found that the best part of this restaurant was that we came for a special date for a birthday and the ambiance and dining was great but I can totally see friends coming for a more low-key dinner because there are items of different budgets on the menu, all with amazing reviews. We will definitely go again. Service was incredibly quick and very friendly…parking was easy and free bc it’s in a plaza…all in all a fabulous experience!
Food and service are amazing!
We returned to Babel for dinner after a long break, and what a treat! To me Babel's trademark centers around mouthwatering Mediterranean cuisine. There is enough variety in the menu to have a taste of Greece, Morocco, Italy and Eastern Med. Our fave is a missive wood-burning grill the chef uses for cooking and smoking, giving that distinct taste to a branzino or a lamb. After having refreshing cocktails, we ordered a humus and a smoky charred eggplant, to address our Med crave, followed by a special, Cornish hen with gnocchi, and a must-try slow-cooked over the wooden fire lamb shank; to be honest - both were sublime; for sure, the nicest tenderest, fall-of-the bone lamb shank I had in a while. The service was impeccable, personal and attentive, led by Erica and Ajay. Fantastic night-out, Babel is much more than a neighborhood gem!
Yummy food. Friendly service. I would go there again for dinner.
Having worked in industry for many years, I was able to look out across the floor and see how that patrons were managed. There were 2 floating “supervisors”, unobtrusive, keeping an eye on everyone which had the intense result of timely intervention when required and avoiding the mindless interruptions of franchise restaurant models. Ambience was functional and understated - again, like a real restaurant and the food was top notch. GREAT VALUE
Everything was superb - the mussels were simply amazing. Their Knaffeh is a lovely finish to a memorable meal.
