The 3 of us made a reservation several days in advance of our plan to attend Boston Ballet’s 1:30 pm performance on Saturday, May 27. At 11:45 am, the restaurant was not crowded; we were pleased to get table 22 by an opened window. Our waiter Fortino was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. The kitchen personnel prepared our menu selections in a timely manner. Our brunch items were fine to see, tasty to eat, and in satisfying portions. As the restaurant was not crowded, we didn’t rush; we enjoyed pleasant conversation longer than we would have if tables were needed. We left smiling, and anticipate many future times to dine at Back Deck.

Went for brunch with the family on Mothers Day. Great kids menu that everyone enjoyed. Thought the grilled buffalo tenders and steak tip salad were great. Would definitely come back.

We waited 30-minutes after being done eating for our check. Server walked by us five times without looking or checking in as we were trying to get her attention. We were barely on time for the event we had tickets to that started at 8pm despite a reservation that started at 6:15 and being done with our meal by 7:15.

Amazing place! Walking distance to theaters. Food yummy 😋 They have the best burgers 🍔 They are Celiac safe, which gives them an A+ for my daughter. Highly recommend!!

First time at Back Deck. The menu was minimal but we all enjoyed the food that we ordered. The greek salad is not huge but satisfying. The burgers were good. The gluten-free chicken nuggets were amazing! We didn't love the large cut potato wedges instead of more traditional fries. Overall a good restaurant but nothing special.

Great place for after theater meal. I got the shrimp and grilled zucchini over basmati rice from the gluten free menu. Finished the meal off with a delicious ice cream sundae with caramel sauce and walnuts. Staff was very pleasant!

This was my second time at Back Deck. I was giving it another chance because maybe I caught the place at a bad time on my first visit. Nope, it is definitely not getting a 3rd chance. My medium burger was well done and dry. Took 30 minutes to cook a hamburger and it was also missing the bbq sauce. Service was poor. If I didn't flag down my waitress, I don't think I would have ever seen her. I will not come back.

We ended up sitting at the bar. We arrived early for our reservation, and they could not seat us early. The first bartender at the bar was Brian he was wonderful! The other bartender working was so rude. Brian ended up going off shift, so we were left with the rude bartender (one bartender working) I understand that things are tough after the pandemic and the restaurant industry has suffered and is understaffed. There is absolutely no reason that this bartender needed to be so rude. I was taking my best friend out to celebrate her birthday. He really put a damper on the evening. He would not acknowledge you when you politely asked for another drink. I sat there for 15 minutes trying to get a beer to have with my food. When I asked a second time after waiting, he told us we need to wait! I will never return to this restaurant it is too bad because it is so close to the Opera House and convenient before going to a show. I have worked in the restaurant industry for many years, so it is not easy for me to give such a bad review.

Felt we were rushed for an early Wednesday evening. Ordered appetizers and hostess insisted on taking meal order at same time so of course food came two minutes after appetizers!!! Food was ok but drinks were very very thin on alcohol.

The Back Deck is a consistent and reliable, with good unfussy food, a wide but not long set of selections, and very relaxed, friendly ambience. While not quiet, the noise is normal with no blaring music, so you can easily hear to chat! The servers are all great! They're prompt helpful and don't hover!

The food was cold and tasted like leftovers. My daughter didn’t like the sauce on her French toast (it wasn’t described like it tastes) on the menu so we had to order another meal for her (I was willing to pay) but the server never came back to make sure everything was ok. We never got refills on our drinks. This wasn’t our first time but it was definitely a miss this visit.

Despite what appeared to be a very short staffed house( it looked like only one sever was covering the entire place) our server Michael took our order quickly and asked if we were going to a show. That question presumably to make sure we got there on time. We never saw him again until it was time to pay the tab and that was actually ok.

I wish I had caught the name of our server. SHE WAS EXCELLENT! We had tix to the ballet and a very limited time in which to eat. It helped that we had eaten at Back Deck before and knew what we wanted. All the same, she greeted us, promptly took our order, checked back frequently, filled our water and got us out of there, doing so cheerfully, within 30 minutes. Great experience!
