   My first trip here, at the new Gretna location. Not easy to find this location, in a new neighborhood with incomplete streets. We arrived at 6:00 PM with a reservation, but the place was nearly empty anyway. A very new place, so that makes sense. Had their Detroit style pizza, which is a pan type pizza, similar to a Chicago pie. Excellent flavours, very much enjoyed. One slice is rather filling, with the thick crust and all. Delicious. We order some of their french fries and sweet potato fries as a starter. Loved the sweet potatoes- brown outside with great seasoning and tender, moist interior. The white potatoes, not so much. They had a chipotle sauce drizzle, which offered nice flavour, but the fries themselves were desperately overcooked. Dry and crunchy. Ugh. Plus, there was no non-messy way to serve them onto your plate. Our companions had eaten at the original store and assured us the food was better there. I bet it was. Here, the cooks are probably just too new to have it together yet. But, the pizza was fine. Nice change of pace for us.

   First of all, our waiter did amazing, they were attentive and up beat. However, the kitchen really let them down. We had a table of 4 and it took at least 30 minutes to get one persons entree. Another 5-10 minutes later 2 more entrees showed up with a salad we had ordered ahead of time. Finally about 20 minutes later our 4th persons entree showed up. They did comp us the salad and the 4th entree. Our waiter was very apologetic but we assured them that we knew it was not their fault and still tipped the full amount.

   Ambiance was nice and staff friendly. We had a 5:15 reservation and were ahead of the rush. Unfortunately we still waited 45 min for appetizers and a pizza. I’m pretty sure our server must’ve forgotten to put in our order but used the rush as an excuse even though we clearly ordered before. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular and really not worth the wait. Luckily we had planned enough time not to be late for our 7:00 movie but definitely were cutting it close.

   Made reservations for 6. We were asked if a booth was ok because that is all they had . We crammed 6 of us in to the booth. The table was so close to the bench that it was very uncomfortable. All of our food came out separate with much time in between which was awkward. Husbands sandwich was the last to come out after we were all pretty much done. It was sad. 3 small pieces of shrimp one piece of bacon and a lot of lettuce on a huge ciabatta bun. Wow. Spaghetti and meatballs was yuck. We have eaten many times here before and thought it was decent. This was pretty bad.

   Having dinner with another couple. Their food came out 10-15 minutes faster than ours. Awkward with some eating and some not.

   Food was good. Good variety in the buffet. Wait staff didn’t inform us where the buffet was located but we eventually found it. Could have used more water. Those crafts only fill 4 glasses one time. The music was too loud. It was a little difficult to hear conversation at our booth. Overall the food was good and will probably go back.

    I love this place and have visited several times now. This was my first Saturday night and the vibe was outstanding. Great music from Chris Saub, who usually plays 3 nights a week there. Since this was a Sat night, there were almost no kids in the restaurant which was nice. The ambiance was kind of upscale but relaxed. I've been there on a Tuesday and the place was full of noisy kids ($5 movie night i think?) Anyway, the food is great and the staff was very friendly and fun.

    Went after movie. It was a very busy Friday night and our reservation was for 6:45. Thought we would have to wait due to the large crowd sitting in the entry and at the bar. We were seated immediately! Like in the past, service was prompt and very friendly. Great Old Fashion cocktail and pizza! Love this place!!

    1/12/23 Backlot is an awesome restaurant. Every time we go it’s great! Great food, great Happy Hour specials. Love the pizza and burgers! We were a table of eight with two small kids. Served quickly. Awesome staff. Highly recommend!!!

    Had to wait over minutes, even with a reservation. The waiters were obviously short staffed on a Saturday as we barley saw our and he was constantly moving. The food was just fine but not great, but it also came out at strange intervals. No one got food within 5 minutes pf eachother. One person had to wait so long for food everyone else at the table was done eating before it came out.

    Amazing food….my 19 yr old VERY picky son said it was the best pizza he’s had! The environment was wonderful, service great. I have nothing but awesome things to say! Will definitely be back!!!

    Got 2 entrees and 15 min later got the other 3 entrees after the first two people were finished. Got our order and it was wrong but was so frustrated to even deal with sending it back as we waited so long for it

    I love there food but they Have to figure out how to have everyone at the table's food come out together! The last 3 times we have had someones food come out, while they rest of the table had to wait up to 15 minutes. I know staffing is a problem sometimes, but there seems to ALWAYS be plenty of wait staff whenever we have been there. I would definitely recommend the pizza it has never disappointed, but the kitchen problem needs to be addressed!!

    Great place to gather around the table with friends and family. The only downside is the music is too loud. It was difficult to hear those around the table due the music being play loudly.

    I’ve always loved coming to back lot because of the ambiance and food, but the hamburger was burnt. The omelet was the worst I’ve ever had - burnt. I don’t know what happened this past Sunday but it wasn’t good.

    I have reached out twice to the manager/staff and have received no reply. The food was definitely substandard/cold/unappetizing. There was dirt in the lettuce. The waffles were limp. The scrambled eggs were cold as was the gravy for the biscuits. There were no fresh omelets. Was extremely disappointed in the food. This was a special occasion celebrating a 80 birthday, a 60 birthday and a 40 birthday...the food sort of put a damper on our celebration. WE will not be returning. And because the staff did not bother to return my request, I will probably be posting on social media. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my experience. Millie Speck

    Excellent every single time we have a meal here. They have the best music playing!! Sometimes they have live music and the artists are always impressive. Waitstaff is always awesome and this is the best pizza in town. Great whiskey selection and decent prices. Love this restaurant!!!
