   The pizza was very good, especially The Uptown. The ambience was interesting - it suffered some from being connected to a movie theater as well as the decor being a mishmash. Also, the website neglects to mention that they switch to a late night menu. All that said, we had an excellent server and would eat there again if we were local.

   I have been to BackLot several times, but this was the first time for the buffet. The food is always delicious and hot, and the buffet did not disappoint. The choices were numerous and again everything seems to taste wonderful. This visit 2 of our 5 total guests had never been to Backlot and I actually had been bragging about the pizza. The pizza that was there to eat did not disappoint and everyone loved the Detroit Style. 4 of the 5 guests had the buffet and all 4 agreed, the pizza area is too small and half the time there was no pizza or very few flavors. I only had 2 pieces of the combo and would have like another piece or 2 but the combo flavor was empty for at least 15-20 minutes. I was actually bummed bc every time someone when back, the pizza area was empty. It always had the buffalo Chicken readily available but no peperoni, no combo and even the cheese was left empty.

   Sat us right inside the door, asked for a different table , said they were booked & couldn’t move us. Found a table in the bar & moved there. Took a while before someone came to take our drink order. Food was good. Overall night was good.

   I made our reservation early in the week to insure we had a table as well as a nice dining experience. However, they seated us at the table right in front of the kitchen and the window where all servers go to. It was loud, making it difficult to visit, and congested with the servers coming back and forth. The servers were swearing quite profusely and complaining about their tables/fellow diners, which was eye opening as well to hear how they were speaking about other diners. One would have thought that table would be given to walk-in clientele that just want to be seated vs guests that reserved a table 5 days in advance. We boxed most of food to take home so we could get out of there.

    Really enjoyable Detroit-style pizza. If you let them know you are there for a movie time, the staff will take care of getting your food to you in time to make the movie.

    My wife and I had a nice experience on Sunday afternoon. I was a little disappointed with the 3 piece wing appetizer (1 drumette and 2 flats). I would suggest 4 pieces.

    Chloe was our wait staff and she was amazing. They were incredibly busy but she was pleasant, checked on us multiple times and was possibly still in training. She did phenomenal job! Food was fantastic as always and did not disappoint. It was great to see this restaurant so busy and I saw many people headed to theater with drinks in plastic cups. Make a reservation in advance if you want to enjoy this place on a weekend!

    This was my first time at Backlot. It was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, the service was great and the atmosphere was so, so cozy. We ordered an appetizer and two pizzas. Everything was delicious!!

    We had a reservation for 4 and got there at the time of our reservation. After being sat we waited for our server for almost 10 minutes to greet us. She was very sweet and I know she was doing her best. Drinks came almost 10 minutes after we ordered and the food was mediocre at best. The Caesar salad had wilted, brown lettuce and the shrimp I ordered as an add on was sparse. 4 pieces of tiny shrimp. For the price, I definitely would’ve hoped for better food, but as I said our server was very nice so I’ll give my experience 3 stars.

    Nice ambiance, music playing not so loud you couldn’t have conversation. Our waitress was superb! She was very polite and informative. Menu choice are good and nice wine list. Wine bottle half price Monday-Thursday. Food was very good and serving size large. I ate one half of my sandwich & fries.

    My first trip here, at the new Gretna location. Not easy to find this location, in a new neighborhood with incomplete streets. We arrived at 6:00 PM with a reservation, but the place was nearly empty anyway. A very new place, so that makes sense. Had their Detroit style pizza, which is a pan type pizza, similar to a Chicago pie. Excellent flavours, very much enjoyed. One slice is rather filling, with the thick crust and all. Delicious. We order some of their french fries and sweet potato fries as a starter. Loved the sweet potatoes- brown outside with great seasoning and tender, moist interior. The white potatoes, not so much. They had a chipotle sauce drizzle, which offered nice flavour, but the fries themselves were desperately overcooked. Dry and crunchy. Ugh. Plus, there was no non-messy way to serve them onto your plate. Our companions had eaten at the original store and assured us the food was better there. I bet it was. Here, the cooks are probably just too new to have it together yet. But, the pizza was fine. Nice change of pace for us.

    First of all, our waiter did amazing, they were attentive and up beat. However, the kitchen really let them down. We had a table of 4 and it took at least 30 minutes to get one persons entree. Another 5-10 minutes later 2 more entrees showed up with a salad we had ordered ahead of time. Finally about 20 minutes later our 4th persons entree showed up. They did comp us the salad and the 4th entree. Our waiter was very apologetic but we assured them that we knew it was not their fault and still tipped the full amount.

    Ambiance was nice and staff friendly. We had a 5:15 reservation and were ahead of the rush. Unfortunately we still waited 45 min for appetizers and a pizza. I’m pretty sure our server must’ve forgotten to put in our order but used the rush as an excuse even though we clearly ordered before. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular and really not worth the wait. Luckily we had planned enough time not to be late for our 7:00 movie but definitely were cutting it close.

    Made reservations for 6. We were asked if a booth was ok because that is all they had . We crammed 6 of us in to the booth. The table was so close to the bench that it was very uncomfortable. All of our food came out separate with much time in between which was awkward. Husbands sandwich was the last to come out after we were all pretty much done. It was sad. 3 small pieces of shrimp one piece of bacon and a lot of lettuce on a huge ciabatta bun. Wow. Spaghetti and meatballs was yuck. We have eaten many times here before and thought it was decent. This was pretty bad.

    Food was good. Good variety in the buffet. Wait staff didn’t inform us where the buffet was located but we eventually found it. Could have used more water. Those crafts only fill 4 glasses one time. The music was too loud. It was a little difficult to hear conversation at our booth. Overall the food was good and will probably go back.

    I love this place and have visited several times now. This was my first Saturday night and the vibe was outstanding. Great music from Chris Saub, who usually plays 3 nights a week there. Since this was a Sat night, there were almost no kids in the restaurant which was nice. The ambiance was kind of upscale but relaxed. I've been there on a Tuesday and the place was full of noisy kids ($5 movie night i think?) Anyway, the food is great and the staff was very friendly and fun.
