We always enjoy our meals at Balos, one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Whether it's fish, lamb chops or salad, the food is uniformly good and well presented. And the servings of wine by the glass are generous and reasonable.

Le restaurant Balos est joliment aménagé, mais comme dans tant de restaurants montréalais, le plafond haut et l'absence de toute insonorisation font que le bruit voyage très facilement. Le service était impeccable. Les plats que nous avons choisis étaient très bons, plus le loup de mer que la soupe de poisson.

We 4 friends had a lovely round table in the window. The service was excellent. Waiter Gabby had a huge smile. Our meals were delicious (the honey balls are always a hit!)

Went at noon and had the lunch special. It was every bit as good as the evening à la carte menu. We were served warm bread to dip in the oil and balsamic vinegar. I started with their delicious Greek salad followed by the superb grilled sea bass which was very fresh and moist. Dessert was Galaktoboureko a custard dessert covered with golden layers of flaky phyllo. Tons of yumminess!

Excellent goodie experience Authentic Greek food I recommend the saganaki grilled octopus ! We ordered several appetizers and the grilled fish!! The server was punctual and the food all arrived at the table warm! We drove from Ottawa to celebrate a birthday and they hid the cake and served it on time with coffee!! Thank you !! we appreciated everything you did and will be back!! Don’t miss out on this establishment

First time at Balos restaurant and we had a pleasant experience. The food was good, nice selection of wines, the waitress Rita was amazing and a very nice ambience . Almira wine was exquisite! We are going back.

First of all: very little consideration was given to those of us that are mobility challenged. A ramp will help getting into the resto Secondly, although the resto is located in Westmount some of the workers either didn't know or refused to answer in English. Food was excellent except the french fries was too salty. The fish which I ordered (bream) was perfectly prepared and more than made up for other imperfections. Service was impeccable and our waiter was kind enough to help me with the door as well as getting into my taxi. All in all, an evening well spent. Will return.

Thé service at the beginning of our dinner was excellent for the main course we received our fish and meat vegetables and potatoes were served after we finished our main when ordering desserts there wasn’t anything available on the menu that was offered the loukomathes were hard and over fried not enough honey either usually the service is excellent a lot of new faces our waiter was completely overwhelmed

The price of the sea bass @‘$77 (small for 2 people was exaggerated. As well, the popular Greek white wine was unavailable-a substitute was offered at a higher price / not good 👎

Our sea bass was perhaps milder than necessary. My wife’s salmon was beautiful. The bread was poor. The tzatziki excellent- rich and creamy. The Greek salad was very tasty and enjoyable. Service was warm and friendly.

Lovely evening in the neighbourhood on the terrasse with friends. Started with a greek salad, and vegetable chips coupled with a delicious chilled white wine. Shared the red sea bass which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by delicious potatoes and veggies. We’ll definitely be back!

We sat outside -so the noise level was less than it might have been inside. Alex -the waiter, was friendly & obliging, the food we had was delicious. Balos remains a star in the neighborhood- booking on Open Table was easy as well. We look forward to going again.

We had early reservations. Our table was in a very good spot in the front closest to the Atwater side. The waiter was very professional, describing our options. The chips were fantastic. The Mediterranean sea bass was perfectly cooked and likewise delicious. The restaurant was recommended by our daughter who had eaten there this week. Our friends also enjoyed our dining experience. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

The food was very good, really delicious Chilean sea bass, though the Greek salad just average. However the service was not great, no warmth from the servers. The courses came much too fast, then at the end of the meal it was hard to get their attention to ask for the bill. Not sure if there has been a recent change in management or staffing, but made the experience less than great. Hopefully will improve.
