I rarely leave reviews, but halfway through our lunch at Bangor I turned to my partner and said “this is review-worthy food”. We had the special which was a lamb backstrap with potato pavé and salsa verde - the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the flavours were all so beautifully balanced. We also had a mushroom and truffle pappardelle, which was lovely. The service was friendly and attentive but unobtrusive, and we never had an empty wine glass for more than a moment before being offered another. Between us we sampled five different wines, all of them delicious, and we bought a bottle of the Chardonnay to take home. Thanks for a beautiful lunch with a lovely view of the moody countryside on a rainy day; we will most definitely be back.

Bangor is my go indoor or outdoor dining experience when taking friends, family and visitors to the Tasman Peninsula. After a morning of sight seeing including the Tesselated Pavement, Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen, Bangor offers a wonderful dining experience with wonderful views overlooking the water. Whilst there it is wonderful to take in the history of the property outlined on story boards throughout the restaurant.

Nice stop for a lunch on the way to port Arthur , food was ok not fantastic, squid rings for example look huge but covered in so much crumb and thick, the bread also was a shocker huge pieces that had been toasted but burnt. weird thing they don’t serve ice at all ! So if you wanted water with ice or wine with ice ,it was a no we don’t have ice. strange. Outside area was nice, we sat at one of the tables and had coffee after. Have been there a twice now but I think the quality has dropped. Not the service just the quality of the food.

We hadn’t been to Bangor Vineyard she’d for at least a couple of years. We enjoyed my husbands birthday lunch very much. Delicious food, attentive wait staff and not too noisy! Excellent sparkling Riesling and Pinot noir. We’ll definitely be back and bring some friends too!

An amazing stop on our way to Eaglehawk Neck. The Champagne (we know it’s not called that) was so good it is coming home in a box to treat our Family and Friends! My pasta was excellent and my husband’s calamari was sublime! Of course we will be back !

Our only problem was that we ordered too much food. A Small Plate and a Large Plate each plus a salad was more than we could manage. But the food itself was delicious. My partner ordered the Gnocchi and said it was the best she'd ever tasted.

Could only be seated on the "high" stools at the window. Somebody must be joking about the height of the stools or table. We felt like 8 year olds at a dining table, the table level is about mid chest. There are two heights for stools, high and mid. The ones on the deck are correct for the window table. Here's a tip, during the next closure lower the table height.

This is one of our regular dining out options for a lazy lunch. It's an hours drive from Orford but well worth the drive. The food is excellent, especially if there are at least 4 of you and you share the dishes.
