Enjoy an intimate dining experience at Bar Isabel - a cozy restaurant nestled between Toronto's little Italy and little Portugal, where creative Spanish-inspired small plate dishes are served alongside cocktails and an extensive Iberian focused wine list. The restaurant's elegant interior boasts an intriguing blend of soft lighting, curved walls and a beautiful mosaic tile floor.
Managed under the guidance of Maitre d' and Partner Alessandro Pietropaolo, Bar Isabel's menu includes a diverse mix of pintxos, conservas, seafood and meat dishes. Diners rave about the grilled octopus, the bone marrow and the ceviche. For dessert, the Basque cake and sherry cream is a must-try. Bar Isabel is open 5-11pm Sunday through Friday, and 3-11pm Saturday. Accolades include listings in the Michelin Guide, Canada's top 100, and 2013 awarded the best new restaurant in Canada by Enroute Magazine. Bar Isabel accepts reservations for parties of up to 8 guests.

    The best meal I’ve had in a long time. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was lively. Some people I’ve seen complained about the noise but we found it wonderful - it felt like a lovely bar in Barcelona. We’re from Ottawa and coming back on November — 100 percent we are coming back! The flight of dessert wine was the perfect way to end this birthday meal, and the wine recommendation from the sommelier was perfect.

    The place was very loud. One could barely hear a thought let alone a voice. Food was good glad I got 4 scallops instead of two. Note to file Do not go here for a quiet dinner Perhaps I missed that!

    I thought the vibes were super nice, and the service was very good as well. It’s not a super large menu, so it was easy to choose and try things. The only thing I didn’t appreciate was that there is automatically 20% tip added to everyone, regardless of party size. That’s a bit much, and I probably won’t be returning for that reason.

    Immediately I was greeted by super friendly staff. Although it was busy, multiple servers checked in on me. I couldn’t decide so I ordered the tasting menu. That was the right choice! Everything I ate was stunning. The room is absolutely beautiful. Great lighting and decor.

    We’ve been wanting to try Bar Isabel for years and haven’t been able to get in (lack of preparation/timing). Considering this place has been around for so long and it’s still as busy as it is, speakers volumes to the way they conduct their business. Some of the best service we’ve ever experienced in a restaurant, from when we were greeted to when we left. Such a lovely experience; staff worked as a team flawlessly and made our 1 year wedding anniversary a night to remember. Thank you Bar Isabel team. Food, service, ambiance and experience were spectacular. Can’t wait to celebrate our next adventure there.
