   A friend of mine met me from apps and drinks this past weekend and we had wonderful service at the bar. I unfortunately didn't get our two servers names but overheard someone say 'Devin'. The atmosphere was great, the servers were knowledge and the beer (especially the Stout) was delicious!

   Our waiter was outstanding! He choose 2 wines for us after he asked questions about likes and dislikes. Explained their complexities, and we were not disappointed. The same went for choosing our meals explained soup to nuts on very complex offerings...nobody was disappointed at all. The chocolate dessert tasted wonderful, but the cookies were hard to cut, our only negative comment. A lovely evening topped with a candle to celebrate my guests birthday!

    We had a lovely Mother’s Day meal with family and there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. We shared all our plates and even ordered a second of one. The 22 varieties in beers on tap make it fun to try several at 4oz each. Will be back for sure

    3rd time here over the past 9 months, and each time has been remarkable. Since returning to Ottawa in 2021 after 30 years working abroad, we've tried multiple restaurants and Bar Lupulus has stood out in every respect: excellent and creative food, great service, fun ambiance and drinks, and a team that works well together.

    I’ve never had a bad experience here. This visit was no exception, our server was very attentive and gave great suggestions on the beers we wanted to try or had questions about. Charcuterie is always A+.

    Only had a few dishes between my partner and I. We enjoyed everything we had, particularly the pastas. We had the marlin charcuterie, it was also quite nice. The only thing I would have added was a little bread to mop up the sauces for the main dishes.

    The food was excellent. I would say that the wine selection was interesting, in that a lot of wines were foreign to us, so making the decision is a bit hard and the price point is quite high, compared to other restaurants that are similar. But definitely flavourful food and good service.

    I was traveling with a colleague on business and booked it for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and cozy with a lovely bar and mood lighting. We ordered a cheese and charcuterie plate to start that was delicious with a decent selection of add ons and yummy crackers. We then had the beef tartare and seared tuna to start which were also generous portions and delicious. For our mains my colleague had the sablefish which was well cooked if not again, a bit salty. My main was a massive miss as I ordered the carbon lumachi which was drowning in salty roe and just seemed off as a flavour combination with the heavy pasta shells. I couldn't finish it. I ordered a beer flight which was fantastic, however my colleague was a wine drinker and the options they kept bringing us were organic/unfiltered (their specialty) and truly awful. I never knew wine could smell and taste like a barnyard - yuck. I would go back with some edits to my order - lovely spot in hopping Westboro.
