Bar Reyna Ratings and Reviews
Cold in the back room. Very cold!!
Great service, poor food. Martini was awful.
Trio of dips with crudités and breads could have been put together from my fridge...shameful. Raw veg thrown onto board with breads/pitas thrown on top. Two dips likely store bought with one other couldn’t decide what it was - garlic cloves in oil? Brutal.
Appetizer of lamb baklava was tiny and odd.
Main course lamb chops were cold with some indescribable cole slaw?
All together very disappointing. Second time here after first great time last year. New owner? Different menu? Never again.
Live music on the back patio was amazing. Tons of heat lamps, pillow, and blankets. Very cute.
Started with the scotch egg which was good and the zucchini fritters which was regular. I Had the Charred Octopus, but didn't find that the flavours went together well and ended up with a lamb pide. It could of used more meat sauce . The tacos were the best of the 3 mains.
The decor and ambiance here is gorgeous. I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. I ordered the avocado toast and they serving was dainty...one slice of toast with a side salad is small for the $14 price tag. I took the waitress' suggestion and added a poached egg which arrived cooked to order but, cold.
Went for lunch with a colleague from work. The atmosphere was quite humdrum. We ordered very shortly after being seated. The wait for our appetizer was about 15 minutes. We then had to wait a further 40 minutes for our mains. We did not receive our mains until about an hour after arriving. When we asked about our food, the server whom we had not see in some time, said it would be just a few more minutes but did not apologize or even acknowledge how long it was taking. Nobody at any point acknowledged that our food took much too long to arrive or apologized. There was little to no attention to customer service in this place and a very subdued atmosphere.
The overall atmosphere was good. I was excited to come here for the calamari which was actually unavailable the day I went. Further, it would have been nice to have been seated downstairs rather than upstairs since we made reservations and the restaurant was almost empty. The service was fine. The drink menu you looked fantastic, if I come again I
ll be trying out some drinks.
Went with several friends for Saturday brunch. The food, service, ambiance were all wonderful. Definitely order the fries, they are spectacular!
First time I was in Bar Reyna a year ago, and we loved everything: the place, ambiance, food and service. This time, everything was really poor. The food arrived separately: I got my salad first, then after 5-7 minutes my friend's shakshuka arrived... and we were waiting for another 5-7 minutes for another friend's burger to arrive. My friend ordered the sauce which comes with the burger to be on the side. It arrived on the burger. Reyna salad was just a bunch of greens - not filling at all even though it was recommended to me by a waitress who said it was a very filling salad. Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend to anyone.
We had an amazing time at the restaurant minute we were welcomed at the door. Our server along with everyone worked there were very friendly and professional. Their service was excellent. Food choices were unique even to the desserts!! We ordered several items and shared. All were excellent!! Memorable items are kale salad with fried chick peas, chicken tacos and burger, butternut squash cake, just about everything! Thanks to open table, we found this restaurant as we were just in the neighbourhood and wanted to go some place right at that moment.
We will be back again. Thank you
Patio was requested and not granted. We were put upstairs and temperature was extremely uncomfortable to the point where half the party wanted to leave. Would recommend saving patio for reservations
Despite being questioned by OpenTable if we had upheld our reservation, Bar Reyna was fantastic. Perhaps Open Table reservation follow up process needs to be assessed.
Great restaurant. Had the zucchini fritters they were unreal, Greek fries huge and delicious and tacos and it was all amazing. Great place if you like to share. Can’t wait to go back and try new things
the food and ambiance of this place is fab, but the service (our server in particular) was really disappointing. i would give it another chance as the ambiance and food were wonderful
My husband and I came to Bar Reyna for brunch with my parents and sister. My mom was looking for oysters and when I saw the menu had a Mediterranean flare, I knew it would speak to her Moroccan roots. The drinks were absolutely fabulous and strong which helped make up for the price ($14-$30 per drink). Three of us had the burger which was nice, but maybe the bun was a bit too much for the size of the patty. I had the avo on toast which was simple but very nice and my mom had the 4-cheese pide which I thought was also quite nice. The 4-cheese mix had a cheese in the blue family which I'm not a fan of, but still enjoyed it. We also shared a basket of fries which were delicious. We all loved the ambiance on the heated back patio but really pretty. Both servers who helped us were super nice and let us enjoy a very relaxed and drawn out brunch. This is a really nice spot in Yorkville with non of the pretentious attitude that some of the other restaurants offer. I would recommend this place for nibbles, drinks, and brunch. The biggest downside was the cost which was a bit high.
server kept coming to ask if we were still working on our meals (every 10 minutes) which got really annoying. This, even though there's no one else in the restuarant so I don't know what the rust was.
The only thing I’d say to the restaurant is to consider changing the way they make fries. The very thin stringy fries are honestly hard to enjoy and kinda pointless.
This was the perfect place for a tête-à-tête between friends. We had time only for appies and a drink each but I will be back for the full dining experience ~ I’m sure it will be stellar.
Great attitude by all staff - friendly and positive.
Our server was excellent, friendly and accommodating. She made great recommendations and was super attentive!!
Wait staff very attentive and helpful. Food very tasty and fresh. Great ambience - patio an exotic delight.
Will definitely return and recommend
Loved everything I ate and loved the atmosphere.
Everyone from the bartender to the manager go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful experience every time you visit. From customizing a drink to find you the best possible table. They are always willing to help, and very pleasant. In addition, the food and drinks are superb !
The food was AMAZING. Everything we had on the menu was delicious and the cocktails were out of this world. To top it off, our server Robel was extremely friendly and gave the best advice. Can't wait to come back!
The ambiance at Bar Rayna was great but the restaurant was very unaccommodating of food allergies. Despite their menu identifying several items as "gluten-free" none of these allegedly gluten-free items were available to people with actual gluten allergies. Given that half of our party has dietary restrictions and the kitchen was unable to accommodate, we left very hungry and unsatisfied with the experience. I would recommend this restaurant for a drink or light meal (based only on seeing the food), but it isn't suitable for guests with food allergies.
Sit on the back patio and you'll feel like you've been transported to a different country. Order the lamb baklavah
Great place for drink and nibbles. Live singer was an ice and unexpected touch. Food was surprisingly tasty.
Nice atmosphere and great cocktails - but good was underwhelming.
I'm a vegan and ordered the zucchini fritters. It wasn't until arrival that I realized the aioli was mayo based. A more educated server came by and let me know that the fritters have feta in them when I wanted to order just the fritters. It'd be really helpful if the menu was more transparent regarding the ingredients and what is vegan friendly ( there was no mention of vegan friendly items anywhere). It otherwise was a great experience!
Good space to meet and have food, the plates are pretty but flavours are ok.
Great food and service. Have been here many times. The salad was over dressed but everything else was great.
Not sure why they said they were so busy when we requested the patio. The restaurant was half empty.
Gorgeous hostess, wonderful food, drinks & atmosphere. In a word: heavenly!
My girls and I had an amazing time at Bar Reyna! Everything on the menu was delicious, we tried the zucchini fritters, Italian fries, calamari, lamb baklava, and watermelon beet salad. We also got their house special drink which was one of the best I have ever had. I'll definitely be back!
Mediocre food and very iced/watered down cocktails that even a nicely decorated patio cannot redeem. If you must, go for a glass of wine during happy hour specials and then move elsewhere for better things. Also note that patio reservations are not guaranteed
Very nice back patio. Friendly staff. Table was in a very awkward place under the stairs, uncomfortable for tall people. Music was loud. Limited menu with a lot of fried items.
The food was delicious, but the portions were a little on the scanty side! The service was friendly, above-average. The atmosphere was funky and creative. My only complaint is that for a couple of little things on pricing, it leaves a bad impression which detracted from the rating. For example, to upgrade the side fries that came with the burger to a "specialty" side of fries [which really appeared to be only adding a piri piri type of salting on top - otherwise, the same fries), they added $4.00 to the bill. A side of pita bread (that was really 4 very small triangles of grilled pita), they added $1.00 to the bill. Neither of those break the bank - on either side - but it leaves one feeling like there's gouging.
Drinks and food were unbelievable, were tempted to go back the next night.
Our servers were attentive and friendly! Love the space in the back, warm, cozy and just a really nice way to enjoy a tasty meal with friends!!
GREAT FOOD ... COCKTAILS COULD USE SOME IMPROVEMENT!
Loved the staff, very friendly yet professional. Loved the ambience, the location, decoration, low key yet trendy. The owner was very lovely too, she treated my friend who had birthday with a very the most expensive cocktail on the menu, generous and beautiful gesture. I'd love to go back there.
