Bar Reyna was designed as an energetic gathering place where the vibe, food and drinks intermix to create a wholly unique restaurant experience. Our menu features an eclectic mix of table snacks and larger plates that traverse the Mediterranean.
Every Thursday Jessica Rose performs live jazz on the winterized back patio and Sundays guests can enjoy 1/2 price bubbly while noshing on the unique brunch menu.
Bar Reyna is available for private events and large groups. Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcome!.
Loved the atmosphere. Intimate and cozy and laid back. But it was far too loud! The music was noisy and didn’t seem to match the restaurant. It was hard to make conversation without almost yelling across the small table.
Food is excellent! Service was a little slow, but the food quality made up for that. Will definitely be back.
I’ve been to bar Reyna many times and was usually pleased however, this evening, I was very disappointed. The food was cold, there was a hair in the meal and they brought all of the food (including aps) at the same time. The waitress must have been in a horrible mood as she was very unfriendly. I was very unimpressed by my dining experience and would not recommend bar Reyna.
Hello, We r sorry you had a bad experience. We do change our menu every 6 months so the trio of dips is no longer on the menu however, we did accommodate your request and apologize this wasn't satisfactory. As for the hair this is completely unacceptable hence why we comped your dish. However we would've appreciated you letting us know before the end of your meal. Again, our sincere apologies you did not enjoy your experience. We would like to try & rectify this. Please email: info@barreyna.
They have most cozy seating!! The waiter who served us was very friendly and helpful.
The Lamb baklava was out of this world and also their chicken taco was one of the best I've had. Value for money was amazing.
The grill was down so we had salad and bread. Disappointing for sure.
My dinner partner and I found it a bit too cool in the lower dining room.
Food exceeded expectations and I expected a lot. A very longtime friend and I ate here before a concert at Koerner Hall. The restaurant (we ate downstairs) is small amd cozy - service was attentive and all four of our shared dishes were creative and delicious. Will eat here again
Two words: LAMB BAKLAVA!!!
I can’t think of a restaurant that does delivers a taste that will take you to places you have never imagined.
The lamb baklava, wow. I think this should go down as the greatest thing I have ate in my life - the flakiness and crispness of the baklava goes so well with the tenderness and umami-ness of the lamb - finished off with the velvety honey and saffron aioli. Amazing
It doesn’t stop there, the falafel taco - incredible. Never had a falafel so crispy in my life, incredible.
Staff should control other rowdy guests, great food, disappointing ambience
Love the place, the decor and the food! Great service
A local spot that always has an interesting menu - good portions of fresh foods at reasonable prices coupled with friendly servers and an “ indoor” back patio that is always cosy
Really great food and ambiance.
It’s usually tricky to get a larger table, so I would recommend for smaller group of friends. But ideal for up to 4 friends gathering at the patio (which is warmed up and cozy)
We went here on a recommendation and a few things prompt this review.
The GOOD - The food was good. We ordered lamb baklava which had a nice flavor and a warm, sweet cream sauce. We also ordered the Moroccan short ribs, which were tasty, though a bit chewy. Add to that the halloumi souvlaki, feta hummus and chili butter, and the Greek fries. Overall, the food was good and flavorful. We were told they were out of the fried kale spanakopita, which was unfortunate given it was a Saturday night.
The BAD - First of all, the food was served one dish at a time - not exactly the best for tapas when you want a variety of flavors that should complement each other. Secondly, we sat and ordered prior to two other couples being sat on either side of us. However, both couples ordered the same dishes we ordered... and both couple got their food well ahead of us. And their food all came out at the same time. Puzzling to say the least. We ultimately had to cancel the Greek fries because they were going to basically be an afterthought or dessert. The lamb baklava was the final dish to arrive (both couples got theirs as the first dish).
The SERVICE - Sitting between the other two tables, it seemed as though 1 of the 3 got the better level of service and the server was well more attentive to them. We never received a refill of our water, and when there was an issue with the payment machine, the server acted like it was my fault. So, clearly we were an inconvenience as they appeared more interested in huddling in the corner while the folks clearing the tables were more attentive.
In summary, the food was good. It would probably would've been much better served together. However, based on our experience, and given the extensive foodie culture in Toronto, we'd be unlikely to return in favor of trying other restaurants in hopes of a better overall dining experience.
Bar Reyna had incredible food and an even better ambiance. I want to go back again and again and again until I’ve tried all the dishes.
This has been my favourite restaurant all summer to visit! It definitely will be my favourite in the future too! Food is outstanding and their sangria is best in the city!!
It was a nice dining experience at Bar Reyna, food was authentic and atmosphere was intimate and cozy. Would recommend to friends and family
You have to try the shoestring fries. A perfect restaurant for people like me who love to share plates!
Great place, love the food . The patio outside was spectacular! Definitely recommend this place to friends.
Food and drinks over the top delish. the decor looks like a university hangout and not Yorkville chic. Though we love the Middle Eastern chandeliers.
Bar Reyna is one of the best restaurants I have been to lately. The food is so fresh, healthy, creative and obviously DELICIOUS. The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. There was a misunderstanding with our reservation time and they still accommodated us. I loved that. I will rave about them for a while until I get everyone is my circle to try them out!
Omg I would recommend this place to anyone. Lamb Baklava is to die for along with the crispy calamari; aesthetics are everything. I accidentally cancelled my reservation at this place on a Friday night but somehow the amazing staff here managed to arrange a table here for my birthday.
Not a good experience as I left hungry because they took away my food while I was in the washroom. Then I was told the kitchen is closed so I was unable to eat my full meal, yet I had to pay for it.
small selection of wines by the glass. food is decent but nothing really stood out as amazing. wait staff were attentive and pleasant. small place, OK ambiance. nice choice for a drink and a snack in Yorkville.
Great Vibe and fabulous food!
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the servers were very hospitable. Overall the food was flavorful but the oysters were quite disappointing. I was looking forward to the buck a shuck oysters but I felt they were not as fresh as others that I've had.
The ambiance was the thing that drew me in to visit the restaurant. And they have done a fine job at it. The patio is cosy and romantic. We ordered 1) beet salat (very good) 2) short ribs (super rubbery, had to send back) 3) hummus but bread sold separately (interesting and green in colour but not the best I've had - go to Bar Sybanne for that) 4) fried calamari (pretty good) 5) Spanish fries (super fine cut and delicious) 6) Thalia Greek Sauvignon Blanc (smoothest taste with no acidity, just perfect).
I would definitely come here again for the ambiance and would give food one more try to see if any dishes stand out. Service was good, a bit slow to get the drinks at first but the servers and friendly and make good suggestions.
Great vibe, drinks and food. Food on the pricier side for what it is.
Great options for Mediterranean dishes and tapas. Atmosphere is fantastic, however service was somewhat lacking. Had to wait 15 minutes to be served water even when the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Kitchen also took a long time to prepare the food. Would recommend only if you’ve got plenty of time to spare on your dining.
Took over 30 minutes to get fries. Eventually told that the frier wasn’t working which is why there was a delay. This doesn’t explain why tables around me who ordered after us received their fries before me. When I received the fries they were burnt. The server was great throughout and did not charge us for the fries.
I love bar Reyna, the service is impeccable, when we arrived our table wasn’t ready so we were directed to the bar where they offered us a complimentary drink while we waited for our table, the food is always great, the live music is a plus! Wether is a night among friends, a romantic dinner or a girls night out, Reyna never disappoints!
Was very nice. Though table was beside the live entertainment so noise was somewhat bothersome. Restaurant was full do no options. Singer did wander through the dining area
Delicious food, buck a shuck and happy hour wine prices were a Tuesday bonus. We will happily return when we have events in the neighbourhood.
Food was delicious and the service was laid back but still attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. Lots of vegetarian options. I want to put honey chilli butter on everything!
How do you screw up a beet salad was so bad couldn't even eat it, tasted like a jar of no name pickled beets sitting in thick gloopy sour cream. Service is terrible. The calamari meh! No cocktails on happy hour just cheap house wine, no thank you. My advice dont even bother with this one.
