I took my friend for lunch for her 92nd birthday. She loved the ambience, the food and the fact that the restaurant was not noisy. She had a great time and has told me she plans to go back for lunch with her friends.
have been twice. really nice presentation. priced quite competitively for a high quality meal. Perfect for pre Massey Hall or Mervish theatre. Ask for the window seats as they look out into the Eaton centre.
We really enjoy Bar Verse as an after work dinner spot. However, I do think it is time for a new menu. Thank you.
Bar Verde - Great food, great experience. Will be back!
Food was good. Waitress was OK. ...not as cheery as the one I had the last time.
The food is just okay, and it’s very overpriced for the quality and quantity provided. Service is good, and the pace are which dishes arrive during lunch is fairly quick.
It was OK. Underwhelming. Maybe it was just not for me.
SERvice was just ok! The server was amazing but had too many tables.
Service is always friendly and attentive, the food is excellent , especially the tomato soup! and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed!
Salmon nicoise salad was ok. Nothing special. I think there were three green beans in it. Paltry. Salmon itself was a little dry. Noise level was loud because of a false fire alarm in the Eaton Centre.
This is the first time at Bar Verde and we loved it. We had seats overlooking the Eaton Centre which was really nice. Our server, Marianna we so sweet and attentive. The food was good too.
Service was a bit off. Food was average. Happy hour wine prices were good (however, selection slim). Overall, it’s convenient to work and okay for happy hour.
The food was fine but even though the reservation indicated hat it was for a birthday, the patron tried to put me at a corner table, he least desirable one, and when I requested a better one, threes were plenary of decent tables and we were seated something a bit better.
And then the next day I got a message from you guys saying that I did not honour my reservation with a tone that was rather complaining. It was so very unpleasant, especially after spending quite a bit of money on simple lunch.
Went with three friends. I have been before but my friends hadn’t. All will go back again.
Simple quick tasty and easy
Met for a business lunch, was full and quite noisy but good atmosphere. Nice view of the mall if you are able to get a booth by the window. Bit pricey for a casual lunch but food and service was good.
Nice atmosphere and view of the mall. Friendly service and tasty food. Love the happy hour options.
Not sure what all the fuss is about. I ordered the burger which came drenched aioli - disgusting. My wife had the short rib grilled cheese - conceptually great but in execution not so much. I would seek better options in this area... Like the Food Court.
Been to this place many times, always satisfied with the quality of service and food. Reasonable price, definitely will go again
Perfect spot to catch a bite to eat with a good glass of wine. Centrally located but you feel like you're far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown while never feeling rushed for your table. Had the South Western Blackened Chicken and the calamari (fresh not frozen). Both were excellent as was the Merlot from Okanagan Valley, BC Highly recommend this place. Hey, it's inside Nordstrom's so you know it will have to be very good.
We like to come here when visiting the Eaton centre. Nice menu. As usual I had the Cod. Wonderful dish.
Lovely location for lunch break when shopping at Eaton Centre. Delicious food and gorgeous deserts
Food and drinks were yummy and convenient location near Mirvish Theatre. They appeared to be slightly understaffed, but waitress apologized for initial brief wait and once we placed our order; drinks and food were delivered promptly. Cilantro Lime Chicken tacos, SXSW Blackened Chicken Sandwich, and Herb Roasted Salmon Nicoise Salad were delicious after a cold and busy day in the city. I would return if in the area, shopping at the Eton Centre, or for satisfying meal nearby the theatre.
Great escape spot in the Eaton Centre. Service is excellent, food is all right and the ambience perfect. When you need to escape the mall this is the place to go! I had the salmon and it was a over cooked but almost every place in Toronto over cooks fish. Dressing on the Salmon Nicoise excellent!
Ordered the Soup of the Day - Santa Fee - full of very good veggies and a nice bit of spice. The Cauliflower florets was a perfect appetizer for two people and served with a dip. The tropical green tea blended well with everything. Filling all around for a light lunch.
Food was delicious, service staff were friendly and fast, our table was wonderful. Overall, 5 star.
BUT when I was booking our reservation online, it allowed only 11:45am or 1:45pm. When we got there, it was practically empty. Even when we left just before 2pm, it was still half empty. I would have preferred a 12:30 reservation. I wish that the online reservation app would have allowed us the time we preferred.
Was a great view, we asked for a table by the window to see the Xmas tree in the Eaton Centre. Plus our friends were very delayed and our waiter was very accommodating to serve us as we ordered in stages.
Great food, comfortable, excellent service.
The food was great! Waitress served the us never came back to refill glasses with water or asked if meal.was okay. We saw her at the end of the meal. She askef, how we were paying. I voiced my distaste as we were literally choking on your meals without refills. She apologized like a robot and left. A few minutes later another lady came along and apologized for the oversight and offered us a dessert which we refused. We did our shopping at Nordstrom and decided to try this restaurant for convenience which was a mistake. I wish these urban restaurant could train their staff to be people focus/oriented because this is the fore front of your business. Thumbs up to the chefs/cooks, however Bar Verde need a to re visit their training on proper restaurateur etiquette to meet their patrons needs. We still left a 15% tip although my patty of 3 had incompetent service.
Enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the sesame chicken salad- would like less pepper please.
Suggestion: more healthy options on the Children’s Menu, perhaps soup and salad, both of which my 6 grandchildren love.
Excellent food and great location very close to Massey Hall
Perfect if you are shopping in the Eaton Centre, a little above the shopping frenzy, but very accessible. Nice view of the Mall, especially at Christmas. Good menu, nice wine list and decent value for the neighbourhood.
Good food, good service and nice atmosphere. Noise level was low to allow conversation. Perfect for going to the theatre or just mall shopping!
Service is friendly and professional. Apps and desserts very good . Mains a bit over-priced and smallish. Nice view over the Eaton Centre and Christmas decorations. We were there early on a Tuesday for a pre-concert dinner. We had let them know in advance and the server seemed to be mindful but somehow desserts were slow to arrive and we ended up scrambling to settle up and leave in time.
Food is so so good - lots of small plates that you can share so you can taste many items on the menu!
Reservations were promptly confirmed. The Xmas holiday ambiance was lovely. Specials were excellent value. Food was delicious and served beautifully. Server was effective, efficient and delightful. View into the Eaton Center was excellent. We had a wonderful time and I would readily go back again.
Nice meal when you are in the Eaton Centre and looking for a break from the crowds. Ask for a table by the window
Nice lunch or dinner spot. Close to Mirvish Theatre. Also great for girls shopping day. Service great, food very good.
The brussel sprout appetizer was delicious! and the wine and salads we chose - also amazing. A lovely dining experience - we'll be back.
It was a very pleasant and quiet atmosphere for dinner after the busy swirl of people at the Eaton Centre. The food was fresh, hot and quite delicious! Would return again! 😀
