   IMPORTANT NOTE: Barca is overpriced for the little food you get. It's all about the ambiance. If you want ambiance, go for it. If you want food, you will not get your fill and you will pay a lot.

   Drinks weren’t great. I enjoyed the food very much. Others that had been before said it has improved. My recommendation is change bay scallops to scallops likeA on the River. We will be back; love the atmosphere for alfresco dining of tasty food.

    Lovely spot on the water with pretty great service. The food was incredibly disappointing. We had the croquets, scallops, borani, and patatas bravas. The croquets are the only dish I would order again. The kale in the borani was acrid and overpowered the entire dish and the scallops were incredibly small, overcooked, and only tasted of garlic. The patatas bravas were fine but nothing to write home about. I don't think I'd make my way back here.

    Food was marginal. We had the hummus, tuna tartare, beef tenderloin and the shrimp. The tuna and beef were questionable. But you can’t beat the view while sitting by the water.

    Food was pretty good. The croquettes were tasty, as were the scallops. One of our dishes came when we were done eating and asking for the check. The waitress apologized for it being so late and said she would take it off the bill, but then she didn’t. Music on the deck was too loud. Service and music volume could be improved.

    We’ve come to Barca many many times but today was the first time in 2023. The changed menu, excessively oily potatoes, oily pita bread, lack of green sauce on the once incredible beef tenderloin, very rushed and bland shrimp, removal of the whipped goats cheese… all quite disappointing. Service was great. Very noisy, at 5pm on a Sunday but a popular spot. We won’t rush back for more than a riverside glass of wine.

    Overcoming challenges to deliver a top quality experience. Food was very good, esp mussels, stuffed peppers, and sliced beef. Shrimp dish seems. A little different than previous experiences. More bitter. Still pretty good. Not sure if a change or just inconsistent. But overall very good on the dishes. Drinks (Paloma’s, sparkling brute rose, Spanish lager, Minty Mule mock tail, etc.) all excelled. It was an amazing, dry, sunny esy evening on Mother’s Day. It was packed as expected, and the service was still attentive. Especially given all of the factors involved. It was a team effort and you couldn’t tell they were all working their butts off, but never forgot the smiles and gracious comments. That often gets loss at high traffic restaurants in touristy areas like Old Town. Well done, Barca.

    Unfortunately, we weren’t able to actually dine at Barca this time around. The host was absolutely amazing, great attitude and very friendly. He sat us a few mins before our reservation, and that was the only highlight. There were multiple tables around us finishing up, servers walked by us several times, were able to close out tables and begin service at two tables that were also seated, one before us and one after. Not one of the servers, touched our table to even say “hey give me a min.” We sat for around 15mins and decided to just leave since apparently we were ghosts. It’s too bad because we’ve come here before and really enjoy it but I won’t sit around and wait forever when servers walking by seem to just ignore the table. We decided to go to a nearby restaurant that provided great service right away and great food.

    Great venue and beautiful location, with good service. Food quality varies greatly between weekend and weekdays, however, probably due to kitchen crew. Less experienced (and clearly too young) staff may make your experience less enjoyable, because of their lack of social skills. Also, make sure you ask for your white wine to be served chilled, or it will come room temperature.
