If you are looking for the best Indian meal in town, this is it! The appetizers are so good, the gulab jamun in dessert is out of the world. Abhish was our server & he was the best :)

This is an awesome place to go to!! The ambience is awesome, the food and drinks were excellent and the service par excellence!! Atharva lived up and beyond his reputation as a host based on the other reviews! Will surely go there again every time I’m in Toronto!!!

Horrible experience! DO NOT dine in after 10pm. Service was great till 11pm and then suddenly went downhill, to a point where it got confrontational, due to lack of listening/attention paid by staff. Headed to Barkat for a great evening, only to be dampened in the end!

the food is absolutely delicious, but the size of the restaurant is very small so all the tables are squeezed tightly together and they seemed to be quite understaffed, which naturally resulted in poor service.

Ordered butter chicken spiced to Indian palette. Instead got something with only 2 flavors - spice and sour. I felt there's been a mistake and asked the server who took the dish in the kitchen and returned with the same dish confirming it was butter chicken, indeed - a really pathetic, unrecognizable version, in my opinion. Upon complaining, was offered an orange juice just so we could swallow the dam thing down our throats. When we were ready to pay the bill for this disgusting food, the chef and owner came enquiring about our experience and full knowing that we are done with the dinner, offered a fresh serving of butter chicken without the extra spice - how timely!? This offer should have been made while we were having our dinner not post it. On a seperate note, despite making a reservation we were made to wait over 25 mins while they were taking walk ins as well - why wouldnt you just keep a table reseved closer to the reservation time, shows how poorly managed the place is. Overall, very underwhelmed by the experience and wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food and service! All the servers were extremely welcoming and really care about their guests and the food experience. Chef was so humble and none of the food we ordered missed the mark! I would highly recommend for amazing, flavourful, quality Indian food. To top it all off the presentation for all the food and drinks was also amazing and creative

It was my first time here and for months I’ve been longing to go! I have a request that you guys pls open another location at Brampton or even Mississauga. Good quality was really good and I fell in love with ambiance to start off! Worthy instagrammable pictures. Amritsari fish tikka I highly recommend and chicken biryani! Can’t wait to visit once again to try other delicacies!

Absolute best for Indian / Pakistani food though more options need to be added to the menu, especially for dinner. 10/10 for ambience, hotel staff and food presentation. The staff is very friendly and as we were with my infant, they helped us even to pack our leftovers.

Came here to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends and family and we were thrilled with our experience. The ambience was wonderful, the service was great and the food was fabulous! We had a great time and will definitely be back!! Toronto doesn’t have many upscale Indian restaurants, and this place was much needed!!

We booked for 12.00pm lunch on a Saturday only to be told at the reception that they serve brunch from 11.00am to 3.00pm, however this piece of info was missing from their website. We had no choice but to go ahead with the brunch menu only to find it was limited to just 7 to 8 items on the menu, also during brunch they do not serve alcohol, again something they have forgotten to mention on their website. Food was ok for the cost, not impressed

Overall great service, loved the appetizers. Main course was good but quantity should be more, proportional to price. But regardless, lived the food, it was perfect Indian fusion one wants. The foods retains the taste of India with a twiste in presentation, so it is a must go!

We were not happy with our experience at Barkat. The service was slow and error filled, the food was served on the cold side and not very interesting, the room was loud and stark and it was very expensive given the above.

Amazing food, the chef was super involved, staff was very attendant and caring. There was a dish we ordered that was not to my taste, the chef took it away without even me asking for it or requesting it. Definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it.

The service and presentation of food was amazing. However, the quantity was less in comparison to the price. Food was tasty and the owner/chef were very welcoming and prepared food according to our restrictions happily. Overall it was a nice experience.
