Uno, Dos, Tres..Baro! Derived from the Latin American slang word for “barrio” (meaning “neighbourhood”) we bring you our Baro, home of Chef Steve Gonzalez. The Latin spirit is undeniably contagious. From the southern tips of Patagonia in Argentina and Chile, to the lively street cultures of Colombia, Uruguay and Brazil, the energy of its diverse people radiates throughout the cities. It livens the neighbourhood and awakens the Baros! Baro is first and foremost a restaurant, showcasing an exceptional cocktail program and refined dishes along with fan favourites from Valdez. Baro will also feature a 2nd floor Raw Bar Lounge. To top things off, we created The Loft, a 3rd floor, 1,850 sq. ft. event space that we know you will love.

Baro Ratings and Reviews
Great food and amazing space!
It was great and management was really on top of things - definitely recommend
Definitely have the duck fried rice!
Fantastic food, surprisingly generous portions, great service. Music was meh.
Food was great. Had a bunch of sharing dishes. Good place to go with a group.
Awesome place for brunch, cheese bread Benedict is a great creation
Great service, good food. A bit dark for my preference. I like to see what I am eating!
Been here a few times. Food and service pretty consistent and good. One negative was we sat near the back and I guess it’s where staff hang out and they were loud and annoying at times. If you can, sit away from that area.
Everything was fantastic from the time we walked in the door. Women at the front was very polite when greeting and seating us at our table. Food was amazing, especially the ceviche. And they even gave us a complimentary dessert for my girlfriends birthday.
Best dining experience in Toronto yet! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and food presentation was on point...not to mention delicious too! We will definitely be recommending Baro to friends and family.
Was a definite surprise, Loved the food, vibe and service!!!
Very fun, energetic vibe. Good for large groups.
This is a beautiful restaurant with a lively atmosphere, but the kitchen hasn't quite got it all right. The sauces/citrus overwhelm the fish in ceviches and the seafood is overly salty.
I took my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday on Saturday. I booked a reservation for 2:30, foolishly thinking that it would be the dinner menu. However, when we got there, the brunch menu was the only thing available and the service was wrapping up. We had hoped to eat some of the food from their renowned raw bar, but didn't get a chance to do so. With that in mind, our experience wasn't what we had expected, even though the chips and salsa, the empenadas, and the mac and cheese were delicious. The sangria was also quite unique with the guava juice that was in it.
All in all, the food was delicious, even though it wasn't what we had expected. I really hope to go there for the raw bar in the future
It was really good i liked it evrythin was goooooooooooof
Had ceviche, scallops, and the vegetarian version of that rice dish in the big stone bowl. Everything was delicious, but that rice dish... Oh. Em. Geeeeeeee! THAT was AMAZING!!! The smell alone makes you salivate. Our server learned that although we were not there to celebrate my birthday, it was the following day. So she surprised me with a complimentary alfajores with a candle. It was very “sweet” of her.
The eggs benny was SO good. My eggs were a little over cooked but I enjoyed it anyways.
Agree with all the positive reviews. Really happy to have chosen this restaurant for our firs night.
Nice place with a good food options. I felt underwhelm with the good. It was good but not worth the cost. The menu was much cheaper 2-3 years ago.
Our server was good but tried too hard to be bubbly. She was also training so that probably was the reason for her behaviour.
While the food was good, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Great food, friendly staff and totally accommodating. I couldn't make my 6:45 reservation and opentable didn't have another til 10 - I called the restaurant and they were able to accommodate me and my friend at 8pm!
The server was awful she shouldn't work in a restaurant
Rude obnoxious and arrogant
Loved the food!! Loved the atmosphere!! We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful server - woman from Costa Rica - who was very fun, made great menu selections for us and really added to our enjoyment of the evening. And the food was fantastic.
Great first experience. Our waitress was great. Very friendly staff!
Underwhelming food for price(salty). Poor management of two hour table limit. Very noisy. Regular diner on king strip, less value for money than other restaurants in the immediate area. 6pm reservation, arrived early, advised at 8pm after noticing the waitress hovering that the manager came over the day there is a 2 hour limit and that they needed the table. While an exciting concept poorly executed.
An amazing place with attention to every detail from the incredible food choices, the amazing menu and the stunning décor. I cant say enough great things about the place.
Amazing place! Service was fantastic and the food was incredible. It was a dual birthday and the staff left a hand written card for us wishing us a happy birthday! Very nice touch!
Food and atmosphere were great. Our waitress was so fun and sweet. The hostess at the front was rude, did not smile, seemed annoyed and was not welcoming at all.
Portions were very small. An eggs benny for $16 is normal downtown but the portion was very very small. It was a great atmosphere for a group of us to catch up. Their tea selection was awesome; a blue ginger and lemon tea changed colors and was soothing for a breakfast.
Great decor and Latin inspired dishes like chimichurri and flank steak and empanadas and arepas. Great cocktails and margarita pitchers
Service was a bit odd. Waitress was the usual stuck up foolishness on King West but the rest the staff made up for her. Nothing there is overwhelmingly good but I do suggest the duck confit rice.
The ceviche flight was outstanding. The fish dish however was a bit over cooked.
We enjoyed our meals very much. I ordered the Platas of Empanadas and a Taco. I probably could have ordered 1 more thing. My friends ordered mains. Some dishes were pretty reasonable and a few were a bit pricey. My suggestion is to have small versions of some of the pricey options like the Duck Rice.
always a good experience just wished the chaufa rice was available for brunch..
Having traveled, dined and partied in Colombia Baro elevates the quisine to fresh and sophisticated levels while adding fun street food twists. Generous portions make it good value and the staff were knowledgable and fun. It was a great night.
Food was totally uninteresting. Service mediocre. Only good thing is ambience. Won't last in my opinion.
Food and service were great! Katarina, our server, was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Only issue we had was it took a little long to get drinks at times; otherwise everything else was great.
Excellent, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Great food. Amazing vibe. Loved the music.
Baro has a very nice, energetic vibe, but the food does not impress. We were a group of 7 so we ordered a good chunk of the menu. Some of what we ate was ok. I think the duck fried rice was the best thing I ate. Unfortunately, the raw beef appetizer was inedible - cold potatoes wrapped in beef. It should not be on the menu. Pork main was way over cooked. Overall nothing we ate was memorable. Toronto has an amazing food scene and Baro did not compete. I will say the cocktails were delicious. Maybe a good spot for a drink before eating somewhere else.
First time at the venue as I live down the street and in the industry. Overall experience, customer service and food was excellent.
