    This is not my first time at Baro celebrating a birthday. I was not happy with the food and service this time around. Last time I was here earlier this year, staff were welcoming and attentive. This time around, we were celebrating a good friends birthday and no efforts were made. The host that checked us in acknowledge my indications that we were celebrating a birthday and asked if they were here, I stated that she will be the last person to arrive with her boyfriend. When she arrived, it was like no one knew we were celebrating anything. It was not until at the end of dinner when I said “it’s up to the birthday girl if she wants dessert here or not.” The waitress brought us something that we didn’t order, we checked with our waiter to confirmed we ordered the right dish initially (we did), took the dish away and did not apologize for the confusion. The overall portions of the food was small for the price and it was also bland. The octopus was dry, the steak lacked seasoning/salt, and the chimichurri sauce was all oil. Again, I have ordered these in the pass and they were amazing, I had high expectation, hence bringing a close friend here to celebrate. The only good items were the cocktails and ceviche. Overall, it was a huge let down in general. I will not be recommending this place to friends.

    Baro was perfectly fine. The food was nice and the atmosphere comfortable. Was it a standout? No. Was it overpriced? Yes. If I’m paying $50-80 for a main course, I expect great. But we’re also facing huge price surges for food because of the likes of supermarket monopolies (galen Weston I’m looking at you) and governments who don’t regulate them. So I’m not your average customer and I’m not super interested in the King St. west large restaurant vibe. A little too big and a little too impersonal. But really nice staff, nice food, just not a standout.

    service was really good! celebrated our anniversary and felt very important to our server! food was a little cold but really good and the coconut drink was a great experience

    Great little place but very pricey for the amount of food and small drinks. Food tasted great though! Just not enough for the value.

    Beautiful restaurant and would recommend for the atmosphere and vibes. I ordered the hummus and flatbread (beyond spicy), and the burger which was great! We dined on the upstairs patio but would like the option in the future to order from the downstairs menu as they had more choices (would like to see veg options for people in our party).

    The service was good. Our seat was staring at a construction site. The food was just ok. Our waitress Maddie was the best part. Also the young man who served us the food was lovely.

    This was the second time here, very disappointing. Absolutely no service, we saw our waiter twice, even someone else took our food order after seating there for one hour and no one attending, and we started to walk ourselves and ask for a service. Our cocktails did not have any alcohol in it, when asked one of staff they tried to justify but your body would understand if this is a syrup only or you are having an alcoholic drink! This has been raised by multiple other reviewers. Our food also came very salty, very small portion, very late, and for a group of four half an hour apart!
