Welcome To Our Neighbourhood!
Walking in to a large entrance space and it was super lively! It gets a bit loud especially when you’re trying to talk to your party but The atmosphere was nice. Service was really good, food came out in a good time. Food was also really good! The duck chaufa is a must order!
Excellent restaurant. Very enjoyable dining experience with unique ambiance in city of Toronto. Would definitely return. Look forward to try Pablo’s and the Loft too. All menu items are interesting with a twist. Desert menu could have more variety or have an interesting twist to traditional Latin Tres Leche cake. Overall we Loved it!!
The atmosphere and music is excellent. The food is creative, but overall too salty and appetizers are a bit overpriced for what you’re getting. For example, for a bowl of guacamole (that had zero seasoning/flavour), salsa that was OK, and apparently “several types of tortilla chips” that all looked the same was 16 dollars... I would go back for just drinks.
I absolutely love dining at Baro. The service is always great and the food is absolutely to die for. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating which was greatly appreciated by our large group, and the bar menu has something for everyone. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you all for a lovely experience
Overall was a great experience. Server was amazing, support staff was okay. The mains seemed a little overpriced for what they were, but had great specials.
Service was a bit off this time around. Had to ask multiple times for water and it wasn’t even busy. Other than that, food was still good.
great atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff. will keep coming back to Baro :)
Enjoyable environment !
Service is really good and the food is great!! Plus the dancing 💃🏻 even greater!!
Always have a good time
I’m sure many people love this place. The food was good. Think I would order something else next time. The guy that works security at the front door was so rude and not welcoming. We had trouble opening the door and he just stood there. He looked at us and then put his head down to act like he doesn’t see we needed help. Long story short he’s a dick and should work somewhere else since he thinks he’s too good to help others.
A great night out!
Food was great. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
I loved the popsicle of the day that was a cool touch to the dessert menu.
Bad experience - Service was awful and rude. waitresses had an abrasive tone of voice and attitude when asked for a patio table.
I did my reservation four days in advance specifically asking on the notes for patio table. When I got the confirmation call I was told that patio tables were a first come first serve service.
Once there, I was told patio was held for a private event and reopen at 7 pm, then when about to finish my dinner I asked if is possible to finish my evening at the patio with coffee and dessert and possibly more drinks, I was told to pay what I consumed on the first floor and then go to the patio since those are different systems.
I understood and pay my $ 100+ dinner and went to the patio. Once there, we were allocated on a communal table and I was told coffee is not served there and if so we have to leave.
The waitress and I cite said: ”coffee isn't served here if you want coffee you have to go to the second floor. You can not be here you have to leave ”
I was deeply embarrassed,
I brought a friend that was excited to try Latin food to what I thought was the perfect place instead we were treated poorly.
I do not mind high price point when the place, food, and service is up to the level but in this case, am afraid this place for the second time disappointed me.
I do not care for reviews or rants but yesterday my 5 pm reservation was not pleasant.
Excellent service and creative dishes! Had a great time
Loved the experience at Baro. Makes you feel truly special and the ambience is gorgeous!
Always consistent with the service and meals! Love the ambiance.
Rooftop patio was nice but uncomfortable (sitting on picnic tables!) and 1/2 price wine was not available on patio
Great experience! Would like to try the patio next time.
Fun place, staff are very friendly and unpretentious. Delicious food!
We had to wait a really long time to be served and the food lacked flavour. Also was a bit disappointed because the brunch menu on the website, open table, and the one at the restaurant were all different and the items we were looking to have were not available. More gluten free options please!
Service is terrible, servers only concentrate on groups. Me and my partner felt left out. I had to wait atleast 15 mins just to get some water poured for me. Food was the best ever. Shout out to the chef.
Service should be better. We went on Tuesday and we were overcharged for beer as it was Taco Tuesday on the Estrella. Need better servers that actually care about good service. Overall, food is absolutely fabulous.
Great food and amazing service, love this place!
1 year anniversary
Wonderful venue, great food & cocktails! Would love to visit the rooftop!
Very instagram worthy. But the food was mediocre and the drinks were overpriced. Disappointed overall.
In Toronto for a concert, we came after. A Wednesday night so not super busy, but still a great atmosphere, great food and service :)
Great food and service. Also acknowledged my friends birthday!
A really nice vibe in here definitely suitable for a late meal with sharing platters and some drinks. Couple of items we received maybe a little bland but mostly food was very good.
I won't recomen this place just because the Food is very expensive for what you get. Place is and service is good.
Amazing food. By far the best place I ate in Toronto.
My friends and I were in town for Cariabana. We had reservations for the dining area but quickly changed and moved to the rooftop. The area was much more lively and interactive. We sat at the bar right in front of the chefs. They were interactive ,funny and enjoyable as the worked fantastically preparing the meals. I would recommend going to the rooftop to eat as you won't be disappointed. AMAZING FOOD.
We were welcomed by the host and our server (Christina?) upon arriving. Christina was so patient and kind to describe to us our options and what dishes we might enjoy best. We had the lomo saltado steak dish and the arroz con pollo which were both so so delicious! Dessert was also amazing. Best flan we ever had. Love the ambiance. Meals are obviously not cheap but the environment was not intimidating so we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Will definitely go back! Highly recommend.
Hostess’ were both rude and condescending. You don’t get your OpenTable points if you want to dine upstairs even though it’s the same owners. I told them fine I’d rather eat upstairs on the patio and I’ll forfeit the points. After being seated upstairs they told me the kitchen is closed at 10 and I can’t eat. It closes at 11 downstairs. The hostess downstairs apparently didn’t know this and sent me upstairs to eat. I came back downstairs and ate. It was nothing special. For the price of their 32 oz steak id be better off at Jacobs, it was ok but well overpriced. We had one other appetizer that was nothing special. The server was nice. But the hostess’ were both rude and seemed to think it was funny that I wasn’t happy about losing my points and after that being seated upstairs when I can’t actually eat there. The place needs to hire people that show some respect the customer and don’t give attitude when a legitimate concern is raised. Wouldn’t go back.
Horrible Service. Our server was extremely rude. We had oysters and half way through realized there was no napkins, and as she runs by us we ask for napkins and she goes "can you give me one second!" with an awful tone. The napkins didn't arrive for another 10 minutes. There were multiple circumstances just like this one. It is a restaurant, where costumer service should be the priority. Your costumers should not feel like a burden.
Not sure why the staff here are so strange and stand offish.. the food was great, service was extremely strange almost avoided our table.. which would never happen at any other restaurant for us
The hostess was not overly friendly but did her job. Once at the table, our server was awesome! Friendly and engaging. She was able to accommodate a few special requests with not issues at all. Food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Great food, environment and service. My friends and i had a great time and i will recommend to everyone to try. Thank you for having us !
Air conditioning was uncomfortably cold. Food was good but not the main draw, which would be the decor.
I visited Baro on the recommendation of a friend and took my 2 sons there for a final meal in Toronto at the end of our holiday. The buzz is great, and the food wonderful - especially the campechano ceviche. the staff were very attentive and friendly, and helped make it a memorable evening. Thank you. Highly recommended!
Spectacular cuisine as always. The food is so delicious and flavorful. Service was on point as well. Baro is easily one of my favorite choices to dine in the city.
Was looking for an interesting brunch spot for my Husband and I and found this restaurant through a instagram hashtag search! The interior was the catch for me as well as the menu.
Arrived about 130pm on a Sunday afternoon and couldn’t believe how spacious the place was! Not too crowded, lots of space between tables and the atmosphere was so chill it was such a boost to my mood!
We ordered the pancakes which came with ripe plantain and queso fresco which were freakin’ delicious as well as the eggs benny blanco which has some of the best hollandaise I’ve ever had. $5 mimosas was just icing on the cake.
After brunch we went up to their rooftop patio for some Sangria. It’s just as lovely and spacious with a great view of King st.
