The experience started off normal this was a 430 dinner and the restaurant wasnt busy. We order 2 French Onion Soups to start, these came out quiet fast but the cheese was burnt in many places, when we began to eat it the temp was lukewarm. The server came and cleared the dishes and this was the last time we saw him. A team member brought our meals, the steak was bland and lobster a little rubbery, it's sad to say but the mashed potatoes had the most flavor on the plate. No one came to our table to ask if we wanted more drinks, when we finished our meals we spend 20 minutes waiting for our server to return to ask for the bill but we had tickets to the Leafs and couldn't wait any longer. We asked a team member to help us out to get our bill and a completely different person came over. Had to be one of the more disappointing meals I've had in a while, my wife and I were looking for a new spot to have dinner and regretted this choice. Hopefully it was a one off because the other tables seemed to be getting great service and we enjoyed the restaurant ambiance.

My salad is as soupy because of how much dressing there was. I told the waitress near the end after she finally came to check on us and then it became even harder for us to flag her down after that to get the bill. $35.00 meal, could only eat part of it because there was sooo much dressing. Steak in the salad was very good though.

We have been to this location many times, and everything is usually great……but tonight (11/25/23) I don’t know what happened. We sat in the lounge as we always do. We were served by Viktoria the bartender. Out drinks came quick as well as our apps. We waited an hour for our dinner even though there were many empty tables in the bar area. My wife ordered her favorite salmon dish. Upon getting home my wife’s stomach got really upset and was sick all night and well into the next day. This location is one of favorite places to go but after this experience I’m not sure we want to return.

Baton Rouge is as good as it gets in neighborhood dining. It costs about the same as downtown steak houses but is a decent value as these things go. The ambience is great and our waiter was outstanding. We had lobster tails and ribs, both fine, and shared an excellent chocolate cake dessert. For a fine mainstream dining experience in Markham, Baton Rouge is a satisfying choice.

They need to better define key allergens in menu. No indication of gluten or dairy. Waiter did not know answers and consulted a book. We then read the book and discovered he had read it wrong. A little frustrating but he was very good natured and apologetic

Had the ribs which was tasty but there was barely any meat on them. Even the coleslaw was smaller than before. The server asked if we wanted to substitute fries for mashed potatoes which we did, but didn't mention that there's extra charge of $5. A glass of red wine cost me $19. You can get a whole bottle for that price. So didn't feel like a great value for the money we spent. I think people will start to cook at home.

Ambience and service were great. While it’s been about 2 years since my last visit was surprised to see how the portion sizes have shrunk although the food quality is still very good. I’d be ok to spend a few more dollars per entree to get larger portions - more inline with other establishments.

The menu has really improved - especially the addition of some very interesting salad and seafood choices. We find the steaks and prime rib a bit pricey - it is a dramatic difference from the other more reasonable choices.

Took an hour to receive our food. Service was just ok. Chips and spinach dip were cheap quality for high price. Not a lot of vegetables with steak dinner. Spent almost 200$ and will not be going back.

Overall very good but when I ask for a prime rib sandwich without cheese, I expect it without cheese. Our server apologized and gave me a free cup of coffee. Compensation should have credited my entire meal

Our party of four enjoyed our business meeting at Baton Rouge. The service was excellent, attentive yet not overbearing. The menu offered a good variety of interesting dishes and the food was very good. The noise level was acceptable for our group allowing us to have meaningful conversations. We will return again for a future meal.

Waitress charged us incorrectly for a $47 filet mignon instead of what we actually ordered a $32 top sirloin. When pointed out she somewhat disagreed until we kept saying it was wrong. She left and came back with the right bill she didn't apologize. When we left she didn't say have a great night she just walked off. We also mentioned that we were there for a anniversary on open table but the staff didn't acknowledge this at all. This is like a lower quality keg without the good service, table bread and acknowledgement towards anniversaries with high menu prices for average food quality.

Biggest complaint - Entered Anniversary as the special occasion into my online order (24th anniversary no doubt) and it was not acknowledged at all. The restaurant - Calamari was a little chewy but batter and the aioli was good. NY strip loin was a little over the requested medium but juicy and good taste. Top sirloin was a little chewy but tasted great and was cooked perfectly. Garlic mash was great. Loaded baked potato was amazing (needed more sour cream). The chocolate dipped Key Lime pie was amazing! Stole the show.

Been here many times over the last few months. Ordered a prix fix dinner. Server forgot to bring my salad that was included in my dinner selection. She offered to bring it when then entree arrived. We said no thank you, wasnt a big deal. When it came time for dessert, I asked if I could have Key Lime Pie instead of either of the 2 choices offered with the prix fix. Server said it would be ok. She came back a few minutes later and said "the kitchen said no for the dessert switch" Really? We found the kind of petty considering my salad was forgotten and our bill was $170 Just thought I would let you know.

My husband and I came to celebrate my birthday with our favourite meal, steak frites. As usual, the meat was melt in your mouth good and the fries crispy outside, soft inside. Because it was my birthday, the waitress gave us a free cheesecake. Can anything be better!

The appetizers were very good. My Cod was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Definitely high quality dishes. However, whenever I make reservations, when we get there to check in, the girls try to talk us into sitting at the bar area. We repeatedly say no & they keep pushing for the bar area. I had to say the dinning area is empty so we want the dinning room table.

Food was amazing as always and our server Megan and her sister were a great team. Super outgoing and positive and very helpful. They definitely made this an amazing experience and we would recommend this Baton Rouge to everyone!

We are long times customers. Our meal is always very consistent in quality. Had the new shrimp appetizer which was good but not as good as the shrimp appetizer you used to have. Your menu seems to have been cut back . Not as many choices. Wine sizes down but same price for an 8 oz now as the 9 oz was. Need to improve the look of your menus. They are looking very worn.

Steaks can be hit and miss so we both opted for prime rib. Big mistake, mine was so tough and my wife's was tough and fatty. Both had too much grizzle. The mashed potatoes were great. Desert was great. Waiter adjusted the bill thank goodness but he wasn't really that friendly nor did it seem like he wanted to be there.
