My wife and I, along with a friend, enjoyed a very nice lunch at Bayside Restaurant on Nov. 23rd. We were seated at a window table with a beautiful view of the Salish Sea. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the steak & frites with a perfectly cooked lean and tender steak and my wife loved the abundant chowder bowl. The ambiance in the restaurant and lobby area is second to none in the PQB area and our server was very warm and efficient. We will be returning soon - maybe for dinner next time.

I was there with a couple of friends, celebrating their birthdays. We were seated at a window table, which gave us an outstanding view. The food was delicious. Cora, our server, went out of her way to make sure we were looked after well. One of my friends forgot a bag at the table, and Cora even ran outside to find us and return it to her. The birthday dessert was a wonderful surprise, and such a thoughtful gesture. It was an excellent experience.

The food, service and view was spectacular. The wait staff were very accommodating and happy. The pianist just made our birthday celebration perfect. We will go back on a Sunday again.

Service was always good, never too long a wait for anything. Food was good - salads fresh, meat and fish properly done. Atmosphere was lively. Music was live (classical and popular guitar), tho' a bit loud but we appreciated the guitarist, as he was good and the music he selected and played was very enjoyable.

Menu is diverse. Good selection and representation of all dietary options. Service is excellent. Staff are friendly, attentive but not intrusive at all. Always right on time with each part of the meal. Didn't interrupt our conversation if they didn't need to, which was so nice. Halibut dish was tasty, seasoned and cooked well, and presentation was appealing. The Creole salmon was cooked to proper doneness, but the seasoning was largely absent. No spice at all. Sauce was undercooked, unseasoned tomato and peppers. Didn't send it back. Everyone misses sometimes. Unusual for this restaurant, in my experience. Live music was great. Solo spanish style guitar. Musician was skilled and talented, and the music created a great ambiance. Will definitely return.

Prices are what you expect at an upscale establishment with a beautiful view. We have only eaten here twice but both times found the staff very pleasant, friendly, and attentive.

I had a sirloin steak which was well presented and cooked to Med Rare as requested. The plate was nicely proportioned and I was able to consume all that was there. Sadly the steak knife I had was so dull it couldn't break my skin when dragged across my palm. I did speak to the manager about this and he was attentive but seemed to be somewhat helpless to replace the knives - in general. The wine list was comprehensive and we enjoyed a bottle of Lake Sonoma Cab Sauvignon.

I am sorry to say I had to return my salad and order something else..... due to the beets and carrots being undercooked and challenging to chew and the walnuts neither candied or at least toasted. I'm afraid it looked rather like it had been thrown together in a hurry. In contrast the seafood soup which my server recommended and brought to me as a replacement was delicious. My 2 guests were happy with their seafood lunch choices and we were all happy with our desserts of pudding and especially the generous serving of chocolate cake for our guest of honour. My friends and I are fairly regular customers of the dining room and will return again.

Waitress was wonderful, food was great, except my husbands stuffed chicken was "rubbery". And the really excellent guitar player was a little too loud for conversation in such an acoustically bright room. Otherwise - a truly good dining experience

First time back at the restaurant since latest remodel. Looks and feels more upscale like decades ago. Piano player/singer very good. Brings back memories of the piano player who accompanied the buffet in those days. Food and service was excellent. We will definitely be back to enjoy the food and the view.

We met friends at the Bayside and had an amazing evening. Our server understood we did not want to be rushed, and brought our various courses when we asked. The food was awesome and our server (Eve) was attentive. professional and had a great personality. it was a wonderful evening.

Strike 1: I ordered the seafood chowder and it came to me with a scum on top - it had been left to cool too long before coming to the table. The waiter returned it to the kitchen and brought me a new bowl but we are certain that my husband received my bowl (sans scum... Strike 2). Strike 3: I ordered a Caesar salad but was given a different salad and yes the waiter returned it to the kitchen and brought me a Caesar salad. There were portions I did not eat as the lettuce was old and red. The waiter made a point to say we were not charged for either salad (Did he really intend to charge us for the wrong salad?) Also - it was a rainy, chilly evening and there was no place to put our coats... poor planning on your part. Would you expect us to recommend the Bayside restaurant ... but you can bet we will tell others about our experience. And then let them decide . . . I wish I had taken photos....

Food was good as was service. The soup one of our guests ordered was minuscule in size. A small bowl half full. The noise level was caused was caused by a noisy table next to us.

Service was excellent. Beautiful ocean view. Guitar player was excellent. Table cloths disappeared with COVID and never returned. Would warm the place up. Food was mediocre and over priced. That said, it’s still one of the better restaurants in Oceanside.

Overall this restaurant is absolutely excellent! Dinner was delicious, the service top-notch and the beautiful sounds of the live music played by the classical guitarist, Jesse Epp, was an added bonus. All in all, a lovely place to eat and highly recommended by me.

The waitress brought me the appetizer and the main course simultaneously. They reheated my main dish, and it was dry. I have never seen that in a restaurant of this level.

Always enjoy dining at Bayside Restaurant. Love the view of Parksville bay and beach. Truly enjoy the extra fresh salads and special touch of Birthday Cake (complimentary) for my birthday lunch. I take friends here whenever I can.
