Fish and chips overpriced and wasn't cooked thoroughly sent it back came back uncooked again
Beautiful location overlooking Lake Ontario with many window seats available.
From the moment we.walked in everyone was kind effecient and friendly. Service was fabulous and the food was great. We will be returning!
The Beacon is a wonderful place to go and have a quiet dinner with great ambience. Our server, Keesha, was absolutely amazing!! Very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.
My wife and I both had the prime rib dinner. She had medium, which was overcooked and I had medium rare which was cooked to perfection. We were celebrating our forty fifth wedding anniversary and I'm sure we will return to try again. Medium rare is the way to go for both of our next orders.
Thanks again to Keesha for making the evening memorable!!
Bread and butter or buns before the meal arrives would have been nice, like they do at the Keg.
The salmon meal was very good
Food not very fresh, bad peaches and old salad
We had breakfast on the outdoor patio and it was very good - simple but nicely cooked. The menu has good variation in its breakfast options which impressed me (low fat, keto, etc).
The weather was much better than expected. We truly enjoyed our patio get together. Wonderful.
Went for lunch with 5 friends and we were all disappointed in our over priced lunches ($25 for fish and chips!!!) I had a seafood noodle dish which was mediocre at best, the seafood was over cooked. We all ordered something different and none of us were happy with our food. The menu was limited and I don’t know if it is the same for lunch but the prices are too high for mediocre food. We will not be going back to this restaurant.
Good dining experience on an extremely 'hot sun' day.
Our choice of patio was fine but recommend shade umbrellas for your tables.
Outstanding view & polite good service....aprreciated.
Will repeat attendance.
Our server was really nice but the food was awful. We had brunch and all our fruits and vegetable sides were frozen. Our avocado came in a bowl and was frozen on the bottom, the “herb roasted tomatoes” were tasteless, the peaches on our French toast…also frozen and cold. Nothing was fresh. The view was lovely but would not recommend this restaurant for dining.
We understand the shortage of staff but the delay for even our drinks was slow and the meals slower. The presentation was lacking and the extra service such as we asked for smaller dinner salads and told not available so we had to purchase large size salads before a large entree, too much salad. We also had to ask for bread with our appetisers. Not as good as an experience as year ago. Sorry.
Took 20 minutes before the waitress arrived.
Ordered the calamari for an app and sent it back. Very small pieces the size of a 25 cent piece that were oily and soggy. Was deducted from our bill.
The salmon I ordered was well done and nothing else on the plate except for a few black beans with a small amount of mashed squash. They called it sucatash. Will not be returning.
Pleasantly surprised! Food was very tasty and good sized portions. Beautiful view of the lake. We will return.
This was our first time there and the food was excellent however I feel a little overpriced. Service was excellent and view was beautiful. However, when we first walked in the door, there was Avery bad smell that almost made us turn around. I could guess at a reason why but at end of day, should be fixed as it is probably the reason I wouldn’t go back. Just an overall feeling of rundown. If the menu was served in a beautiful building, it would be a top notch destination.
Overall good except the Expresso, it taste like regular coffee.
Great lunch. Beautiful view. Enjoyed the day, will return.
Our meals were very good. Prime Rib very tender, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and a nice little yorkshire pudding. Fish and Chips with a large piece of fish, fries and cole slaw. The fish was a little oily this time. The atmosphere was lovely overlooking the lake and marina. Hostess and wait staff were excellent.
We started out on the balcony as we had requested and our server had brought our water, wine, dinner menus and our appetizers!
We were all organized to begin a lovely evening!
Suddenly It got colder ( we are right on the water ) and it was soooo windy we decided to move indoors!
Of course we sincerely apologized profusely to our server who was so gracious friendly and helpful, she was not bothered in the least!
She happily Moved everything inside.
We gave a large tip, enjoyed a wonderful evening! It’s our favourite go to place!!!!! Thx for what you do!!!
Service was slow and the salmon portion was small and sweet potato mash was almost nothing
But nice restaurant and nice experience
I great hidden gem on the water, with an great view and service!
We love the Beacon - prime rib is excellent! Atmosphere is beautiful would definitely return!
The place is a bit tired. Carpets etc. More cleanup outside the windows with bugs on the ledge.
Overall great food and service.
Excellent service and friendly staff. The view and food is to die for.
Food was delicious! We had several items with friends. Prime Rib sandwich , Ceasar Salad, Fish Tacos Calamari and Cauliflower Bites everything was excellent. Our waitress was so respectful. Each time she came to our table she always waited until our conversation was finished before she interupted us so nice. The view was gorgeous. We have been here several times and will continue to come back . We are only ready for patio dinners at present. Lovely evening.
This was our second visit and we brought a guest. The service was slow .The meal was subpar I was a little embarrassed because our first experience was so good.My guest's prime rib was rubber when trying to cut and chew.Minecwas opposite very good.My husband's fish wasn't as good as the first time either. We won't be returning in the near future
Great food, service and of course the view is beautiful! Only thing, the air conditioning wasn’t on, and it was 40 degrees out, hard to enjoy the meal when hot/sweating.
Beautiful view of Lake Ontario. Excellent food and service.
The lobster roll and fish tacos were fresh, fabulous and plentiful. The outdoor patio overlooking the marina was serene and relaxing. Great scenery.
We actually didn't eat there, we went for lunch, and all they offered was the dinner menu, over $25 for fish and chips is too pricey for lunch, last year they had a lunch menu, we will not return until they bring back a lunch menu
Food was great. Service was very very very poor. Ignored by waitresses. It took 45 min to get our bill, after we asked 3x. We then walked up to the bar to pay for it and was told they were just finishing it up. Then they put it incorrectly.
45 min after finished eating is absolutely unacceptable!
The restaurant itself was lovely looking, but the outside of the building along with the front entrance to the building need some improvements. A few tweaks would be more inviting to the customer. Ditch the faded 1980's pictures of boats in the front entrance. Add some planters. There's a restaurant that's just down the street from The Beacon Inn that's super popular with people yet they both have the same views. The food is delicious and the options are wonderful here. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. I think you need to promote the restaurant more to locals! Get a new marketing person or hire a marketing person! It's a gem of a location!
Great food and wonderful view of the lake and marina
Ambience in dining room perfect over water...however poor waitress was alone for most of our dinner - even served on patio, so wait times very long ...prime rib was served medium, ordered medium rare, but otherwise very tasty with veggies, etc..expensive....breakfast there on the BeRightBack package (Canadian breakfast ) was awesome...and good portions! Patio over water was busy...wait times to get in were long
yet lots of empty seats, probably had too wait cause little waitress staff!
Great dishes, great service, fantastic view and a reasonable price! You would never expect such a superior experience looking at the building from outside. Highly recommended. Perhaps best restaurant in the Niagara region!
We ate out on the patio. Music in the background playing was not to loud. The view is amazing, and the food ! Oh the food is excellent! The patio was full of people enjoying the night. The noise level is low. Just a bit of music and people talking. It was an amazing night, we also went back for breakfast which was fantastic as well. We will definitely be going back!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Patio is always nice to look at on a summer day.. food was as it should be. Burger and beef sandwich were good. Overall no real complaints.
Nice place limited menu options but nice overlooking water. The smell when you walk into the place is disgusting and moldy smelling.
French fries were not very good. Everything else was super. Great setting
Toughest prime rib I have ever had!
Won’t be recommending to anyone
