    Our evening at Beacon had its pleasant moments, and the service was very good. Welcoming, attentive, professional. The prime rib included large amounts of fat, a matter the chef might have addressed. The musician on hand for the evening knew his music, one assumes, but the volume levels were "robust," which is putting it mildly. Or to put it in other terms, the music was LOUD!

    Our server was great, very accommodating. Nice to sit outside with a view of the lake and marina, not noisy. Unfortunately, the calamari appetizer was tough though the batter was crisp and not oily. The scallops wrapped in pancetta were also tough. Otherwise, all was clean, aesthetically please, timely.

    The menu we were given was not what was on the website. Then they pointed out all the items that were not available, so not much left to choose from. Felt rushed. For an expensive restaurant we had apps, drinks and a main in under an hour. Not a relaxing atmosphere. Note: there was no one waiting to be seated and restaurant was 1/3 occupied. Great view though. They have potential but are not utilizing their location.

    Our table was surrounded by fruit flies. We told the server, she said there was nothing that could be done about it. Will not go back there. Very disappointing.

    We dined at the Beacon Harbourside on Wednesday Aug. 9, 2023 for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. (our Reception was at this very same venue) Meghan was our server. What a great job she did. Attentive, sociable, funny and just made our special evening a hit for us. The food was very good. Both in value and taste. My wife had the prime rib dinner which came with several sides. It arrived just as she ordered. I had the pork ribs. I have never had "fall off the bone" ribs before but these did just that. Very tender and tasty. Compliments to Meghan and the Chef. Also, we had noted several special requests on the OpenTable reservation form and were pleased that the Beacon had already taken them into consideration when we arrived.

    The view is spectacular inside the dining room with large windows stretching the entire length. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, having the prime rib and stuffed salmon. Prime rib and stuff salmon. We would recommend this place for a delicious meal with a view of the lake.

    Staff and service were great! The girls there were so nice! We didn’t enjoy our food sadly. Avocado toast was so untoasted and mushy we couldn’t eat it .. bbq eggs Benny had old , dried out pork on it (and didn’t taste like bbq flavour) and potato latke’s were just frozen hash browns you can find at Walmart . For an $80 breakfast with an executive chef, we expected WAY better! Coffee and servers were 👍🏼

    Dinner was yummy with generous servings. Servers were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Lovely location right on Lake Ontario with beautiful views of Lake Ontario and marina below. Ask for a table by the window or sit on the outside patio. It was a bit warm in the corner of the dining room where we were but rest of room seemed air conditioned. Would go again.

    Service and ambience excellent. Patio had nice breeze even though it was warm. Had roast beef it was a little tough but cooked just perfectly. veggie/ overdone. Yes would definitely return.

    I would have given 5 stars for good and service, but rhubarb trifle dessert was terrible, my wife tried a spoonful and it was tart, watery and English cream was clotted.. Peach cobbler also tart and cobbler topping very hard We expressed our dislike to waitress who agreed that rhubarb trifle didn't look good. It was missing one spoonful and we were charged for it. The test of the food was absolutely wonderful,the view spectacular. We will definitely be back as we live in region

    The service was spectacular. Our view was amazing as we had a window seat. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and while they were good, way over priced for the portion size. We also had the shrimp tempura and the Beacon burger. The burger was slightly dry. It looked huge however, it was mostly lettuce.

    This used to be one of our favourite places to eat but they’ve changed the menu and everything is so expensive. I don’t mind paying for a good meal dining inside but when you are on the patio you’re looking for cheaper options

    We had a really nice lunch with a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario. When our waitress first came to our table we were busy talking so we asked for a bit more time. Then I thought maybe she forgot about us. Practically every window table was full so it was a bit busy. The lunch menu is not very extensive but we were able to find things we liked. It would have been nice to have more than one soup option (French onion) but there were a couple salads to choose from so my friend had the kale salad without bacon and they were accommodating. She said it was delicious. We started with the cauliflower bites and they were very tasty too. I had the haddock with a house salad instead of fries and it was very good. Overall it was a very nice lunch and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    We started coming here a couple years ago when we realized that the food quality had improved considerably. Because it has great views looking out over lake ontario and was never too crowded -- others had not yet figured out that the quality had gotten better -- we felt that this was a great secret spot known. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the quality and presentation of our dinner last night. The prime rib was grey (instead of medium rare) and the burger was pink inside and tasteless (instead of cooked through). Staff did try to make it right -- returned with very rare prime rib. Sad to report that we would not want to take another chance having dinner here again. We would likely come for weekend brunch still as well as drinks on the patio.

    Very attractive premises. Servers were attentive and cheerful. We both had the prime rib, cooked to our individual expectations. There was a Yorkshire, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, all very tasty. Wine prices were very reasonable for this area, lower than most others in our community. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience. We definitely will return.

    I have been many times - but this time was a disaster. Service was great but it was the food that was so disappointing! We had fish and chips and chicken parmesan. The was over battered and burnt, the fries were limo and cold the coleslaw runny. The chicken parm was deep fried? Who does this? It was burn dark brown, dry and tasteless. Hoping this was just a really bad day in the kitchen.

    You can't get better value than at the Beacon restaurant. The menu is varied and upbeat, the food outstanding, the service always very pleasant and personable, and the ambiance always bright, calm, and invigorating. But the highlight is the best view of Lake Ontario this side of Hamilton. Outstanding!

    We visited the Beacon for dinner during the week January, hence not very busy. The staff were friendly and very attentive and accomodating to us. Had the braised ribs which were very tender not overly saucy, and the salmon that was cooked perfectly too! Limited selection of appetizers at the Beacon, a couple more items to select from would have been great. Good experience and recommend this restaurant!

    The view is great but the food was not good. Burger and Fries and steak on a bun and fries. Fries hard and cold on both plates, steak mushy and too much sauce so fell apart trying to eat it, burger so so. For the price of 23$ each plates, totally not worth it.

    Very nice experience have been there a few times, our server was awesome food was great but the Yorkshire pudding was very dry to us and there should have been a little ojus with it on side. I will go back again in the summer.:-)
