We booked a table outdoors using the OpenTable app, and we when we arrived we were told that there was no outdoor seating and they tried to sit us inside, but we told them we didn’t mind waiting until an outdoor table became available. The food was overall pretty good. The special Wagyu steak was a bit chewy. Our young waiter with glasses was very busy and inattentive and forgot to put in one of our side orders and we had to go track him down to hand him a credit card to pay for our meal and we sat with our tea and water glasses empty through most of the meal. We were not asked if we wanted a refill on a glass of wine and we had to ask one of the managers for a to go box because we just didn’t see the waiter for a long period of time. It was a busy holiday weekend so we tried to be understanding if they were short staffed. The setting and the ambience was excellent. The live music by the solo guitarist was pretty good and entertaining.

Appetizer (calamari) was food but expected more for $18. Lemon chicken was good, Came with angel hair pasta in oil (decent) and some veggies (good). My wife said her ravioli was good. Both portions were a bit on the small side. The flourless chocolate cake was awesome!

This dinner was our finest in our 3 day Sedona stay! So happy we found this lovely authentic Italian restaurant for our last night there. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The food was divine! Linguini Carbonara was delicious, Lasagna was fantastic and my husband had a seafood trio which was very savory! It is a bit outside of main town Sedona, but worth the ride! Would definitely recommend!!

Great service, baaaaad food. My chicken breast was clearly from Sysco or the like. With the brown “grill” lines dyed on. Pasta was bleh, sauce flavorless. Partner got a “wagyu” steak which tasted nothing like wagyu. Skip it.

We enjoyed our dining experience. The peach sangria was very tasty. The dinner salad is enough to share for two people and it was very tasty. Spaghetti and meatballs in marina sauce was delicious. The server was very attentive to us.

Four of us had dinner together. We tried the homemade fettuccine, braised beef short ribs and pappardelle funghi. They split the fettuccini for us which was nice. We had a bottle of Sauvignon blanc that was very nicely presented by Marco and spit a crème brûlée to end the meal.overall good meal in Sedona.

Had another wonderful experience at Bella Vita. Our server Stephanie was amazing. I ordered the wagyu sirloin which was delicious and my husband ordered the fish special, which he devoured. Will definitely come back at our next visit to Sedona.

What a surprise this place was! Great menu, we’ll made drinks, food was exceptional and our server Tony was just wonderful. I’m my opinion, it’s one of the area’s best kept secrets. We’re going back next week and taking some friends. It has a “neighborhood spot” feel in some ways, but great for a date night too. Enjoy; you’re in for a treat

Excellent meal start to finish, party of three. Ala cart salad was large enough to share with the three of us, nice focaccia bread with dipping oil served right away as we were seated. Our main entrees were fabulous, one of the best Italian meals we ever had. Serving sizes very large, did not have room for dessert. Food came out quickly, hardly any wait time after salad. New server was being shadowed for training, and both gentleman were very pleasant and social. Explained the dishes in detail and gave recommendations.

Based on the reviews we read on OpenTable, my husband and I were looking forward to dining at Bella Vita Ristorante. I'm sorry to report that our overall experience did not live up to our expectations. As we had a 5:45 pm reservation, we both ordered linguine with pesto sauce from the Early Bird menu. When our entrees arrived, we were surprised to find that the linguine was not covered with pesto sauce at all. We asked our server why the linguine with pesto sauce had no pesto sauce. After conferring with the chef, the server told us that the chef had recently changed the recipe for the linguine pasta to a different sauce (olive oil with garlic, I believer), but this change was not reflected on the Early Bird menu. Our server offered us the option of eating the linguine as prepared or bringing pesto sauce on the side, so we could put it on the linguine. We decided to go with the second option. We want to commend the server for handling our complaint diplomatically. Frankly, the service we received was the best part of our experience dining at Bella Vita! Unfortunately, this was not the only issue we had with our entrees. Quite frankly, the portion of linguine we received was hardly appropriate for an entree. The amount was about as much pasta one could reasonably expect for an appetizer. While we understand that the Early Bird menu items were priced very reasonably, we felt that the linguine portion size was incredibly small, almost insultingly so. In retrospect, I wish we had mentioned this issue to our server as well. Instead, we ate our dinner quickly and left quite unsatisfied with our dining experience. My suggestion to Bella Vita Ristorante is to either provide Early Bird diners with respectable portion sizes or not offer an Early Bird dining option at all.

The Filet Salmon was an absolute standout! I was delighted that the salmon was ORGANIC! It was grilled to perfection with a delectable blend of fresh herbs and extra virgin olive oil, the salmon was simply divine.

Restaurant half empty but early evening time slot was all that remained on Open Table. Server was very kind and on top of us. Food was pretty good! Portions are ridiculously large and prices are way too high for what you get. Because of the portion size we wanted to split a meal, but there is a large split upcharge. I don’t appreciate that. I wish them well because of the great staff and decent food. Managed oddly.

My husband and I had a great dinner here. I had the Pecan Crusted Trout and it was wonderful. It came with delicious vegetables and risotto that actually reminded me of the risotto I had in Italy! My husband loved his Chicken Parm. He orders it every time we try a new Italian place so that’s saying something. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I know we all want to read a long review w details and I wish I could write one…. The bottom line is , service no matter how great it is can’t make food or ambiance better when it is just not there… This is an old place, it smells old, it feels old and it looks old…. Because it is old. Renovation to the restaurant is a must!!! Food was below average…. And it is not worth the money…. I feel so bad for writing this, but at the same time, spending over $230 for dinner for 4 ( 2 kids) is not ok, when the only amazing part of the experience was the person who served your food…. Please find another place to eat….

The 1 and 2 star reviews were right. From walking in the restaurant to leaving, my partner and i were not pleased. The food was very basic for the restaurant to claim it was authentic italian food at a modest price. There was nothing modest about the price and the food was not up to par for the prices they charge. We got caprese, bolognese pasta, and chicken parmesan. For $18, you get 4 measly slices of tomato and mozzarella, and the quality did not justify the price. The bolognese was okay, but for $29 the portions should have been bigger or the quality better. Chicken parm was very middle of the road and the marinara was nothing to write home about. Their other food might be better, but unless you want to pay over $50 one entree then you are out of luck. The ambiance was very unusual and all of the windows are boarded up. The hostess was surly and getting in and out of the restaurant was difficult being that there is barely room to stand, let alone let people pass you to get out the door or to the other side of the restaurant. the hallway is narrow and the kitchen is on the left as soon as you get past the host stand which could be a disaster if the people coming out of the kitchen swing the door open. If you are wanting to spend $120 between 2 people for very underwhelming food then this is the spot to be, but if not i would spend your money at a nicer restaurant like Mariposa or Dahl & DiLuca. The food and the views are out of this world and was worth the steep prices. This bill also did not include any alcohol, the food was just that expensive.

Mediocre food, my mushrooms were undercooked making my pasta as dull as dishwasher. And what’s with the 3.5% fee for using a credit card? That’s supposed to be billed to the business owner for the convenience of not handling cash. This restaurant cares so much about their clients, they stuff us with the merchant fee. How thoughtful.
