Service was slow to start. Oysters and chef presentation was the best part of the evening. Clams and mussels with frites was dry and lacking sauce. We told the chef at the oyster bar and then the server. The server went to get more sauce that never came. We didn't eat the dish and after two complaints we were billed for the dish. I had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. Awkward.
I just went there for oysters 3 types for shucker choice of 12, they introduced well and u can choose ur favorite if u want a second round. Great value and fresh
expensive and not as good as it was use to be. They charged us for a fish plate we never knew the price before (it is legal ?)
Our first time here, waitress took 15 minutes to tell us that it was only raw bar at 4:30pm. We asked her not to leave as we were going to decide on the raw bar menu, she left anyways. No water, no drinks, no service, never again!
Restaurant changed name in past year and have to assume ownership as it is nowhere as good as it used to be.
Excellent oysters, good choice of wines, informed and friendly service, fish main (tuna) very good, outdoor seating - will return.
Service is terrible and the food is way to expensive for what you get.
Amazing salmon tartare! Terrasse is very cute!
Trendy looking restaurant. Most seating was bar style with some tables outside. Ordered the First Mate seafood platter. Came with enough food. Excellent tuna sashimi and really tasty scallops. The lobster claws were a little over cooked. Food was good but overall at $160 for two people, we were a little underwhelmed. They do have more reasonably priced a la carte items.
Excellent service by Alix.
Food was excellent, specially the tuna, but portion a bit small.
Wish the oyster were more affordable, since it is kind if a trademark
Traveling to Montreal, always looking for great food. This restaurant was around the corner from out hotel, which was great in the case of the heat in the city. Food was outstanding, service was great. Had oysters rockefeller, was left licking the shells. Would go again any time.
I do believe the kitchen forgot about our meals and so it took an extraordinarily long time to get our entrees. That said, the masterful and very amiable oyster shucking team at the bar provided a huge amount of entertainment and helped to pass the time.
Tres dispendieux
Date night in Montreal at Belon on the patio with oysters ............ does it get better ?
I have no complaints from this restaurant, food, service was very good. Very fresh oysters and clams, delicious.
Ambiance setting is modern and artistic.
Waiter was accommodating.
Cheesecake is more of a whipped cream dessert.
Food took way too long to be prepared.
Was our first night in Montreal, saw the review on yelp and it was highly recommended so we went. Some of the oysters, were bad and kinda destroyed the mood for the night. Overall a nice restaurant and experience, but the value to money ratio is somewhat low imo
Staff was very helpful and the food was delicious!!
Great seafood. Good service with lot of attention but no fuss
Not worth the expense. Risotto was overly al dente and lacked any flavor. Seafood on top was dry as if it had been properly cooked but sitting for a while. Seafood tower had good spots (tuna sashimi, caviar, oyster) and some that didnt seem the freshest and almost frozen (crab). Way too pricey for the quality and experience. Also waited for an hour for our seafood platter appetizer. Wouldnt return.
Highly recommend the tuna with crispy crust. Subtle crunch exterior and melt-in-your-mouth interior.
Staff very knowledgeable, ask for their seafood recommendations.
Everything's always fresh (fished same-day if not mistaken).
Staff and ownership was outstanding! Finest dining in Montreal! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and the staff was outstanding! Thank you for the pics and drink!
Great time, really good food, but service was extremely slow and sparse! Food took forever to show up, drinks from ordering to showing up at least 20 minutes!
Better value elsewhere for the price however hip ambiance is cool . Drinks very expensive .
Service très long!
Everything was excellent except the fact that for some dishes it might take you 30min waiting to be served...if not more...it took me 40min exactly to get my casserole !
Modern restaurant serves excellent selection of oysters and cocktails. Reservation will help to avoid waiting time. Service was great! Location is in 5-min work from Place des Arts.
It seemed like the energy was down at Sunday evening after a busy weekend. The oyster Guy was very friendly, the female waiter had an attitude I did not like.
Always great experience . Good, service and good ambiance Delicious food. Will go back for sure.
Friendly, top quality oyster bar (and more) just north of old Montreal. Shuckers know their stuff here, and the selection of oyster varieties is quite good. In addition they offer other cru seafood as well. On my visit had half a dozen raw oysters of mixed types, then Belon's version of oysters Rockefeller - nice and cheesy. For main dish, I had a half pompano on the bone, broiled perfectly with crispy skin, accopmanied by redpeppers and zuchini, and a carrot ginger puree. Also had a very nice bottle of Gruner Veltliner, which not all restaurants stock. The female server was very helpful and nice; and I did sit at the bar and was able to chat and get advice on what oysters to get, etc, with the shucker. All in all, a very nice evening.
We waited for our RAW appetizers for over an hour, the calamari app was a joke, we got 5 rings for 17$???
We got there at 7:30 and left way past 11
We love eating here and actually invited some friends who have been dying to try it out, needless to say we were a little disappointed and embarrassed... we have been raving about this restaurant to them for 2 years and we finally go and it was a flop. We didn’t just come for the food, we came for a nice night out without kids...
The main dish took 2 hour, we were very hungry, and the server forgot to order it for us. Unacceptable
The server had an unfriendly vibe. They had run out of the wine we chose and didn't bother to recommend an alternative. Two of our guests were served first (mussels that needed to be eaten warm) and had time to finish before the other two were served. When asked for an explanation we were told that there was a big group upstairs. They did not serve our crab, we had to ask, and came back later to tell us they had run out. Jut a bad experience overall especially given the pricey menu. We felt like they didn't want us there. Would not recommend or go back. Too many good options in Montreal.
I had higher expectations since my experience was much better when it was “notkins”
Saturday evening 8:30, we were told that they no longer have lobster which is one of their mains on their menu. Then I asked for a second mojito and was told there was no more mint, but what was mostly disappointing is when we ordered the muscle and clam bake and got muscles only... waitress admitted she forgot to mention that there were no more CLAMS.
What DID they have left??? No apologies were made, we were charged full price even though we were never informed about the clams... waitress never even offered us the dessert menu! It’s a shame because it’s new management, but I would never recommend this restaurant.
