Berkeley North

We had a delightful time at Berkley North. I loved the decor, the plants and exposed brick. The four dishes we had were amazing from the lamb shanks ( I am not a lamb fan, but I loved these), and the shrimp tempura to start. We followed this with the ribs and the cesar salad with the roasted chickpeas. Delicious and different. This was topped off with chocolate house and the cream puff, (on the house, thank you), which was scrumptious.
Thank you to the chef and Alex , our waitress , for a wonderful experience, we will be back!! :D

Excellent!

We just had the best meals of our lives!! This place is 5* from the initial greeting until you walk out. Apps, dinner, drinks and dessert were all outstanding. The team is such a cohesive team effort from the hostess to the servers and the bartender. This is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to and will now become a regular!! Well done Berkeley North

Wonderful people and great atmosphere. Love that the menu changes and not too many to pick from which make you know every dish is excellent.

Our dinner at Berkeley north was lovely as always!! The ambiance is perfect there. Our server Roisin was so knowledgeable and also just spot on about everything!

Got some food, had some drinks. Every cocktail we had was really good and unique. Waitress was really nice and was always right on time when we wanted another drink. The seating was actually in compliance with covid protocol and never felt like it was too busy/ crowded. Everything on this menu is amazing, portions are perfect size, not too big not too small. This is one of my favourite places to go in Hamilton.

The service was exceptional. Our waitress was beyond amazing. The food was great too. Great value for your money!

Wonderful as per usual. Love the mushroom appie. Actually all the appies are delicious.

We had the most lovely experience. It was a birthday celebration and our server pre planned a dessert for the birthday woman, was kind and accommodating and we had the best time!

Our first time visiting was nothing short of spectacular. Our server Stephanie was very knowledgeable, friendly, and truly ensured that we had a great dining experience. The whole team seemed lovely, and took great care of us. We shared a couple dishes, and had a hard time deciding which was our favourite. The lamb spring rolls were amazing, the truffle pasta was so flavourful, and the desserts made for a perfect ending to the meal (with the French press coffee of course). Berkeley North will definitely be our go to next time we dine in Hamilton!

I had the mushroom pasta which had a nice texture with the fresh cheese but didn’t taste like anything other than basic mushroom. Some buttery sweetness or an herb element would have elevated it. The crumble on top was flavourless.

My friends punch cocktail was also surprisingly basic. The chocolate torte for dessert was just dense cocoa flavour.

Overall the restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. I had been once before when the menu was tapas style and I loved everything. I’d go again based on that first experience.

Absolutely amazing - the food is out of this world and every server embodies the values of the restaurant in that customer satisfaction + kindness are number one! We had such an amazing time. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy, modern, and classy. The music is wonderful and the bar setup is gorgeous. Everything about this place I adore! Even when we ordered out for Valentine’s Day, the food was top notch (they did not skimp on portion sizes as some restaurants do for take out) and they even called to check up on us and make sure we were driving safely, and to ensure us there was no rush (as we were about 5 mins late to pickup). No restaurant has ever done that!!! This is a rare gem of Hamilton and its the amazing people who work here who make it happen. Can’t say enough good things! Will be back for sure!!

Had a lovely pre-birthday dinner for two and always Berkley North never disappoints. Lovely cocktails, amazing food - not fussy but always delicious.

This was our first time out since mid November and our first time to Berkeley North. Service was very attentive and very pleasant. Tried the lamb spring rolls and the dumplings, outstanding!!! My partner had the chicken burger - thought it was comparable to one of his favourites (The Odd Bird in St. Cath). Would order all again.
I had the shrimp pasta, it was good, shrimp were tender, portion size reasonable, presentation was ok, but most likely would not order again. My reco. to Berkeley would be to add couple more apps/small plates, (sometimes we like to order a few apps and cocktails and thats it) and add a couple of mains that are not a sandwich or pasta. Overall very good! Cost of the meal no tip: $160 (3 drinks, 3 apps, 2 mains).

Wonderful restaurant. Went here for my bf’s bday, and was pleasantly surprised by how great this place was. The lighting was nice and dim, there was a small candlelight on the table, felt very romantic. The decor was nice with the greenery. The food? Amazing! We had the Mushroom Dumplings (sauce was very good), the Spare Ribs (soo soft, just fell off the bone), and the Fried Chicken Burger (the batter for the fried chicken was so good!! and the burger was huge!) with house salad on the side. The price for food was very fair, portion sizes were good. Customer service was also very friendly. Overall, 10/10. I would definitely revisit and recommend to a friend.

Went here about 2 years ago and the atmosphere and vibe of the place was more fine dining. Waiters wore black ties and the menu changed seasonally and items weren’t something you’d get anywhere else! Now the place is more hipster (plant wall and vibey music), and servers wear jeans and a sweater. The service was still amazing and so was the food, just not the fine dining experience we had expected!

Delicious food in a warm and cozy atmosphere. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you are truly missing out!

This was my first time a Berkeley north and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff is super friendly and informative. Great service. The pork dumplings were so tasty and the pasta feature was soooo goood!!! They also make a great espresso martini. The tables are very spaced apart and the restaurant is very clean. 10/10 :)

The owner is the nicest man you'll ever meet, very tuned into detail and kind! Every time we come all the staff are so welcoming and nice, which is why we always recommend this place to friends

Great food, great service, I felt very safe.

Our experience for dinner at Berkeley North was delightful. We felt very safe as everything was extremely clean and well spaced out. The servicer was prompt and attentive. We shared four courses and each one was as good as the next. We had mushroom dumplings in a ginger miso sauce, a large handmade falafel platter with pickled beets, a decadent avocado salad with edamame and jalapenos, and a koji nut ravioli with parmesan to finish. My partner had several excellent cocktails and some cabernet sauvignon with our meal. Sadly, we were too stuffed for dessert. Overall, an excellent dining experience.

A simple menu for complicated times. We felt comfortable dining with the spacing provided indoors. Wearing a warm coat while dining is not inconvenient, it provides peace of mind as the outdoor air is welcome inside the dining facility.

COVID guidelines strictly adhered to, even a bottle of hand sanitizer provided for our table. Dumplings and shrimp tempura highly recommended. All sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Salad ingredients and dressings very innovative. Parking across the street (IMPark), some on KW. Calm relaxed ambience, terrific service. Owner stopped by our table to thank us for our attendance.

New to Hamilton and was very happy to find that there are a few good quality restaurants to visit. Food was very flavourful and the service was excellent. I love it when food is delivered to the table and the waiter gives a brief description. There is lots of parking across the street which is very convenient when it is cold out. Can not wait for round 2.
