Berry Hill Food Co is a rare combination of great food and great value. It's a charming and pleasant restaurant with character, including the music. The staff are friendly and kept things moving. The menu seems carefully curated and full of great options, with specials that sounded terrific as well; our choices left us very satisfied and without room for dessert. We really enjoyed the experience.
I love Berry Hill and have usually had wonderful experiences with the food. We went for Mother's Day and had to wait for over an hour for our food to arrive. Thankfully it was a set menu that included some pastries so we had something to help a little. Our waitress was lovely and considerate. She did her best with the situation but the wait was absolutely ridiculous. We had plans afterwards and luckily our next destination was able to accommodate our delay. Once the food arrived it was delicious, as I expect from Berry Hill. I would recommend Berry Hill and would go back. However, something needs to be done to fix what happened on Mother's Day.
Food is amazing ; however I was disappointed that when I made reservation and asked if there was a different menu for Mothers Day I was told no and requested a high chair for my infant I was told no problem. When I got to restaurant, no highchair was available and the menu was per person with no option to substitute orange juice for coffee or tea. The server was apologetic about lack of high chairs and misinformation, however if I had of known in advance I would have made alternate arrangement...for the first 45 minutes my infant had to sit in my lap. Food was amazing and overall good meal!
Took 50 minutes to get our brunch and it was cold and over cooked when we got it. Not a good dining experience.
Always excellent! Enjoyed a weekend breakfast with family.
The food is excellent quality, prepared by wonderful cooks with fresh ingredients. The servings are generous, and the service was perfect.
The owners are very engaged in ensuring that the customers receive the best service and food.
We went here for dinner. Never really knew it existed as it is hard to see from street. The decor was simple and could be touched up. Due to the wood floor, ceiling and benches not much absorbs the noise so it is hard to hear each other as it becomes very noisy. With that being said, the food and service was fantastic.
Our lunch experience was very disappointing, for the second time. On both occasions , the quiche options were no longer available by 1230. We understand that this is a regular occurrence. On the first occasion, I was informed they were out of the quiches, well after others in my group had been eating their meals. Other lunch menu options are limited. The pot pies were too heavily crusted and not tasty.
Been coming here for a couple of years, not sure what it happening but the service has really gone down hill. Waiting 45 minutes for our meal. What i ordered was not how i described on the menu. Brunch is better. The first time we came for dinner it was great, the second and third time very disappointing. Too bad, i really like supporting local restaurants but this is making it difficult. Their old staff were great not sure why they left but they need more staff and better trained.
Met a friend for lunch here. Quiche and salad good. Too noisy to chat comfortably.
Always love grabbing a bite here, would recommend to anyone!
The service is always so great and the waitress always friendly. Only remark I would make against them is the music is a little loud, but other than that it is a wonderful spot for brunch.
Loved the food! Service was very good! Restaurant was a little cool in temperature near the windows, we needed to move tables.
The chef creates wonderful meals. The service is very attentive. Love to spending a Friday date night with my husband at berry hill.
Menu wasn't quite up to date for what they were serving. There were limitations to week day orders that were not stated until ready to order. Some items ordered were forgotten and never brought to the table.
Brought a group of friends for brunch to Berry Hill. Had been twice previously.
The food was great, everyone enjoyed it very much.
My friends raved about the coffee.
The only downside to our brunch was the music playing. I know that music is very much a personal preference, but at one point one of my friends thought there was a helium balloon bein released in the restaurant because of the music.
Great brunch and nice bright space!
We tried Berry Hill for the first time last Sunday. We were surprised that they didn't offer a lunch menu on the weekend, only brunch. We both had the bbq breakfast burrito and it was amazing. We sat at a table in a very sunny window. It was very warm but still nice. We ordered the strawberry mimosa which was delicious. I look forward to returning.
Very delicious fish and chip chips. Bean burger is tasty but a bit dry.
Very attentive staff, cheery. Great menu choices. Good value for money. And importantly tastes great. Thanks Chef.
Came for Sunday brunch and noise level was deafening. Poached eggs over cooked and potatoes and toast were cold. Latte was delicious. The Mounty that my friend ate was good . Not as good as previous visits.
Delicious food, wonderful service and lovely atmosphere...my friends & I planned our next visit before we left!
What can I say - five meat lovers had veggie chilli during the chilli fest and loved it.
Great place and always impressed with the service and quality of food. We came for a birthday celebration with folks who had never been and they’re hooked now!
My wife had choir practice on Valentine's Day so we could not go out for dinner. Instead, we opted for a late lunch. We had a gift certificate for Berry Hill so decided to go there. We had never been there before so it was quite a surprise when we got there. The place has no ambiance, it looks run down. When we were seated. my chair was facing a south window and the sun was directly in my eye. The blind on the windows were old and tatty and the window where the sun was shining in my face had no blind at all. We asked to sit at another table and were accommodated. The table we were seated at was very wobbly. We both had soup and it was very good. My wife had a fish sandwich which was excellent and I had a club sandwich which was also excellent. When the bill came, it was wrong. I had been charged an extra $4.50 for fries which were supposed to be included with the sandwich. It took them ages to sort the bill out and I finally started to leave when the bill was corrected. Our original waitress has obviously gone and was replaced by another waitress who said she normally didn't work lunch. She had to phone the owner to get the bill corrected. All in all, the food was excellent but the atmosphere and run down look of the place was distracting. I would say that the food was excellent but if you want to go there for a romantic meal, forget it.
My daughter found a small hair in her food and the rim of her coffee cup was dusty
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends! If you're hungry; I would definitely recommend the Full Monty!
Great food and service, also thank you for having the bacon muffins available, they were awesome!
WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR LUNCH. THE ONLY NEGATIVE WAS THAT THE WASHROOMS
NEEDED A GOOD SCRUBBING. IT PUT ME OFF A LITTLE.
Great food, great spot! Will definitely be back soon!!
We have a lovely breakfast. Fresh food and served very well.
Eggs Benedict were excellent but the potatos were over seasoned. Way too much salt and pepper. Ended up over powering what should have been an excellent meal.
Berry Hill is one of our favourite restaurants. We have always had fantastic meals there and will happily continue to enjoy their fantastic menu!
We had a family gathering of 10 (including a toddler) for brunch. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Juice seemed freshly squeezed. The atmosphere is bright and nicely decorated.
Group of 14 various ages 4 to 77, everyone enjoyed The breakfast brunch, food quality was excellent and flavourful spiced perfectly and served hot! My recommendation would be the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The full Monty ordered by others was huge with a tone of food, fantastic!
Berry Hill is always fantastic. We have been there for dinners and brunches and the food is always amazing. We even had them cater our wedding! The staff are fun and very accommodating. Our most recent visit was for a birthday party and our reservation kept growing but the staff were amazing and kept finding space for us. Despite the size of our party, the food was delivered in good time, exactly as ordered, and was just as delicious as ever! The first time visitors in our group will definitely be returning!
We went for Sunday brunch for the first time at Berry Hill and it was Delicious! everything we had waa perfectly cooked and the ham and onion jam was out of this world!
Always enjoy my dining experience there. The meal took about 45 minutes to arrive, much longer than usual- the waitress seemed uninterested and aloof (not usual either). Despite the flaws the food is too good to let one mediocre experience ruin it.
This is a great place for brunch or dinner. So happy they expanded the restaurant. We usually go here for brunch, the banana french toast and tenderloin eggs Benedict is a must try.
My friend has celiac disease and they had great gluten free options for her.
Going here in 2 weeks for lunch with my cousin.
Dinner - when we went they had lamb shank, my husband and his other friend said it was the best they ever had.
In the summer make sure to try their outside back patio, little oasis in Oshawa of all places. Quiet and great atmosphere.
Had a lovely Saturday breakfast with my aunt. I had Eggs Benedict with hand carved ham - delicious! Got to sample the banana french toast which was amazing as well. We enjoy trying and supporting local businesses and this one did not disappoint!!
