The ambiance was almost exactly as we had hoped for, but the food and service were just ok.. like the portions were good, the core dish ingredients were great choices, but there was just something missing from each dish we tried. The staff was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks, but our server seemed disinterested in our table. We would go back again, but probably stick to drinks and more snackable items or try a charcuterie board.

Had the cucumber salad but didn’t enjoy it as much as we did the previous time. Has the recipe changed?? The trout carpaccio was excellent…the highlight of the night. The pork dish was underwhelming. Expected more for $42. The meat was OK but some fatty pieces. The description of the dish talked about beets but I don’t think I had even two very small pieces. A bit tart for my liking. Service was great. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we were able to linger…..not rushed but not ignored either. Food came at a leisurely pace. Overall a pleasant evening but nothing really special.

Our server was excellent, friendly and helpful, and the food was fresh, creative and delicious. Fun open dining room with an industrial but warm feel. The beer from Blind Enthusiasm paired well with the food as well. Highly recommend

Incredible, imaginative farm fresh menu! The bread is divine, augmented by the grains from the beer brewed on site. The seasonings, balancing of flavours and combination of textures and plate presentation are top class. Each bite is an adventure, a party in your mouth. Every dish is fully explained as it is served, including origin, ingredients, preparation and best way to enjoy. Recommend the panisse, soft clouds of pressed fried polenta combined with savoury humous and bright salsa verde and the smokiness of whole charred green onion tops. Nice open, bright atmosphere. Lots of patio space. This place is a gem in the Edmonton food scene. Highly recommended.

This was my first visit and my wife’s third. I was very impressed. The dishes were high quality with complex flavors and nice presentation. I particularly enjoyed the local brewed IPA, the carpaccio steelhead trout and steak tartare. Although I wouldn’t consider it fine dining, we dressed up and I was pleased to see many other patrons were also well dressed. Our server, Sydney, was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful with our food and drink choices. Definitely A+. I will come back again for sure.

My wife and I had an outstanding time for my wife's birthday. This was our first time, but we both agreed that not only would we be back, but we need to bring others back with us. The food was amazing, the service was perfectly refreshing, and we had multiple servers chat with us and give us recommendations on there favorite foods (Which we love). The atmosphere was a perfect mix of casual and classy so we felt comfortable dressed up, but you didn't need to be. We absolutely loved our dinner here, and look forward to the next time.

Our server was excellent, one of the better service experiences we've ever had in any of our dining experiences. The food as always was outstanding, we feel confident that we could roll the dice on any dish at Biera and it is going to taste fantastic. The smashed cucumber salad was beautiful and we enjoyed the taste but we weren't a fan of the large hard chunks of cucumber (the smashed part was lost on us). Although the pork shoulder was excellent, the price point was not. Biera still remains our favourite restaurant in the city - we can't wait to go back!

The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant. The bread, dumplings and steak tartare were excellent so was the smashed cucumber salad. There was a long delay to get our main course and the pepper steak was extremely peppery - still edible especially with sauce - we mentioned it to the server more for feedback as opposed to complaint and were told that is how the dish is made - no problem but it would be best then to advise patrons of this when they order as there was a lot of water consumed with the main course. Overall a unique place and good addition to Edmonton dining. The manager was very receptive to comments.

The food was excellent and full of flavor. Items are of high quality so that comes with a higher price tag for everyday dinner out. The portion sizes are not huge but we were stuffed when we left. We had 4 adults in our group and ordered 6 dishes to share. The dishes are family style so the more people the more dishes you can try. It’s a pretty chill vibe with great service.

Our server was super helpful, and very knowledgeable. The food is designed as a series of share plates; we got bread (with the most amazing butter), the steelhead trout carpacchio, a salad that was as much a work of art as it was outstanding in taste, and the pork roast (so. good.), plus desserts. This was perfect for two people sharing, making the bill reasonable, especially considering the outstanding quality.

I brought my girlfriend from North Vancouver last night for dinner, and in her words this was one of the most exceptional meal she’s ever had and Edmonton. This is my third time coming and it did not disappoint. I love love love the menu and I love how it is always changing.

A full 5 stars all the way - what an incredible experience. Special mention to our server Caroline (spelling?) - she truly made an already special day even more memorable - her attention to detail and lovely personality were a delight. Also, her recommendations for drinks and food were spot on. The steak tartare was amazing - i hesitated ordering it as I am generally disappointed (the spices, like mustard) usually take over the flavour of the beef BUT not this time! It was absolutely delicious and so was the bread. As for the sauce served with the steak frites … don’t think I have had a sauce as good anywhere else outside of France … I cannot wait to come back and try some of the other dishes. This one has moved to the top of my list of favs in YEG. Highly recommend!

Exquisite dining experience. All the dishes are designed for sharing, and have extraordinary presentation and range of tastes. The waitstaff were lovely at guiding us through the menu, helping us understand why she recommended dishes should come in a certain order, and in general making recommendations that proved accurate and helpful. This was easily the best meal I have had in an Edmonton restaurant in a very long time. The prices do look high, but we found that the quality merits the cost. I recommend coming with a few friends, so that you can taste a number of dishes and share the bill. I would 100% return.
