BIERA - Ritchie Market
Great food, yet again. Love the sharing plates.
Great beers, interesting wines and ciders, and unreal food. Great place that is worthy of the buzz.
Biera is an amazing fine dining in a casual setting restaurant. The European influenced menu paired with the in-house brewery and wine makes this a surefire combo for any occasion.
Here's a quick & dirty review: small appitizer plates meant to be shared amongst the table. Cool concept, except each plate is priced as an entree ($15-$25) and not worth coming back for. On the plus side the beer was decent and the place was packed . . . with hipsters.
Absolutely fantastic food, service and value! We will be back!
Food was amazing! Loved the atmosphere. We’ll be back !
Many things are extremely over priced, especially the cheese and accompaniments. The sour dough nuggets are amazing and everything else is just ok. If it wasn't rated by Avenue as the best restaurant in edmonton I likely wouldn't be so disappointed.
Sooo good!! The food was excellent. Our server was welcoming and helpful. The ambience is great.
I will be back.
We were disappointed with the lack of dairy free options on the menue, and the inability of the restaurant to alter dishes to accommodate dairy allergies. The Endives were very good, however the octopus and pork shoulder were both quite chewy. The pork shoulder was also lacking flavour and we think the way it was cooked did not compliment a tougher cut of meat like a shoulder roast. The waitress did not ask if we needed any drink refills throughout the meal, and we were left waiting too long between food dishes, without drinks.
A great place if you are looking for unique and interesting flavors.
This is my fourth time! Not as impressed as the 3 prior experiences! Hen of the Woods mushroom was excellent; however, the toasts were burnt on the corners. Duck was Ok, lacked flavor, the organs (heart and gizzard) were over cooked and very strong game taste. Pickled carrots were fantastic! Flamkuchen was good! Overall it was OK, I think the busier this restaurant is, the less of a fantastic experience you get! I would not recommend Saturdays.
My second time there. Loved it.
Excellent food and beer. Somewhat of a unique combination, all good. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend.
Fun experience. Food was unique, flavourful and trendy. Service was relaxed and attentive. Would definitely go back. We had a group of 6 so had bench seating which isn't my favourite but smaller groups have chairs with backs. Cool space.
Fantastic food and service was spectacular. One of my new favorites. Thank you.
Amazing food! Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful with guidance through the menu.
Love the atmosphere. Staff were incredibly knowledgable, personable and intuitively attentive. Food was outstanding! A unique menu full of impressive flavour! W0W.
This was my second time dining at Beira and, as before, it was nothing short of spectacular! The food is creative, delicious and perfectly portioned. The chicken and cabbage dish was worth fighting over the last bite! Our server was knowledgeable and spot on with her recommendations. This the perfect place for a great meal in an unhurried and relaxed venue. We will be back!
We had a reservation for 7:00 and were politely told we needed to leave by 9:00 and yet there many tables open at 9:00 pm. Two of the menu items we ordered were already unavailable, but what we did get was good but the servings were extremely small and therefore overpriced - even for small plates. The desserts we had were downright disappointing. We could not order coffee after our meal as its not on the menu and we actually had to go out to the lobby to order it and pay from the coffee bar - Sorry that is just bizarre! Will not return
We enjoyed the casual dining experience. The service was great and the server was very helpful in suggesting food items to try. Loved the tartar, potatoes, chicken and the pork was tender and flavorful. Tried the beer, not a beer person but I did enjoy the "Bro". Will definitely come back again.
This is a great spot to meet with friends and relax. The staff are amazing and this is only equaled by the food.
We had an amazing night! Great food and service!
Love this place. They know how to cook real food.
Amazing as always! The food is super unique and tasty, and the beer selection is great. Definitely worth checking out
Originally made a birthday reservation for 4 but needed additional seats for 2 more. Staff was able to accommodate the request and the evening at Biera was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our party. Have been to Biera twice in the last month. The food is the star of the show.
Great food and service. Would love to be able to pay for Transcend coffee through Biera, instead of having to walk over there to order and pay for it separately.
The food was excellent and our server was fantastic! She even gave us a really good recommendation of what to do after which turned out to be awesome!
Excellent meal, atmosphere, drinks and service . We will come back here for sure and have already been telling our friends about the amazing time we had !
We all enjoyed it immensely, some things looked a tad small portion wise. chef is very talented! Ate here 3 months before the gnocchi then (same dish) was better than this time. Will come back next time I'm in town.
Food was amazing, service was really good. Can’t wait to go back.
Love this place. Brought my family here for my mom’s birthday. Great ambient, great service, great food, great beers, just great all around. Biera also updates their menu quite frequent. It’s never a disappointment. Make sure you make reservations though! At least a couple weeks ahead.
Excellent winter menu and excellent beer😀
Loved it. Amazing atmosphere, incredible service, and the food was outstanding.
Food was great, but pretty loud in the restaurant, it’s hard to hear people at your table.
Loved it .... have recounted my meal; several times and thinking about when I can get back ! Wowza so yummy and a such a fun nite !
Loved the atmosphere and beer- however, I found all of the dishes to be heavily sauced. All had great flavor, just way too much sauce/dressing.
We had the Beef Tartare, Winter Green Salad, Alberta Grilled Duck Breast and Grilled Hen of the Woods Mushrooms.
I would recommend anyone go there. I was so surprised that I had never heard of it because it was so incredible.
We visited Biera for my wife's birthday. Made a reservation for a Friday night, and glad we did, it was nice and busy, but not hectic. We arrived about 10 mins early, but they were able to offer us a seat at a waiting table and the opportunity to order a drink (the beer was fantastic) and look at the menu. They were able to seat us right on time. The host/wait staff were excellent. They understood that it was a special evening, but also knew how to tactfully check in on us. As for the menu, the shared plates were perfect for us. We had a selection from the cheese bar (it was nice to have sheeps cheese as an option), with some pickles, mustard and sourdough crackers. Very delicious, we should have ordered some meats to go with it! We also had gnocci, octopus, and a few delicious beers. We tried the URB, BRO, and Fabhelles. It was also nice that they offered half-pints so one could sample more beer without getting too wasted! The food came out in a nice sequence, and it wasn't lke our table was crowded with plates. We will be back to try some more!
Dont know why we made a reservation. We reserved for 8:30 for 4 which they accomidate 2 hour seatings. We showed up on time, wearnt seated for 45 mins then the service was so slow to take our order that the kitchen closed before we had a chance to order more food or desserts (at 10:30). So I won't be returning for dinner, especially not with friends. The patio is lovely and beers tasty and well priced so afternoon patio beers might be an option in the future.
My wife and I had a great time at dinner! We loved the fact that we could share everything and even get kore if the same items we liked. The service was amazing and the beer was also great! I think it’s also awesome how you could order smaller glasses of beer so that you’re not stuck with drinking 1 larger glass.
We had a great time!
