Wine list was small and kinda weak. The lobster caps were fishy. The chicken was bland. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
Absolutely delicious and creative menu and beer! We live in the neighborhood and very much appreciate this little gem.
What a great little resturant with an amazing menu of sharing plates. Food was delicious and served quickly. We had a hard time picking what we wanted because everything looked so good. Beer was tasty. Already planning our next date night here.
I wanted to visit Biera as I follow them on Instagram and the building they're located in looks magnificent. The building and overall atmosphere was great! The beers however were very lackluster. We tried a flight (containing a set selection of 4), and then an additional 2 beers after that, for a total of 6 different beers. They all tasted light and watered down. The bar tender was average, but wasn't open to make conversation with us. I was very disappointed with the beverages and we quickly left and continued our night elsewhere.
The food was great. The "peas on earth" blew me away. Also the steak tartare was the best I've had in a while. The menu is a bit expensive for the portion size but the overall experience was well worth it.
They also brew their own beer.
Yep, it's a gooder 👍
This is my 5th visit in the last 12 months and i've never had any aspect of the experience (food, drink, or service) that ever rose above 'meh'. It's ok, but i'm always left wondering why any of it isn't great. Biera always seems too intent on dazzling patrons with technical execution and not nearly enough time on whether any part of the experience is actually enjoyable or pleasureable for patrons. If Biera were a person, you'd be telling them to loosen up, have a couple of shots, and have some fun already.
Food is excellent. Lovely flavour and fresh ingredients. Seating is a tad uncomfortable.
I'm not a beer drinker, but I tried the flight of beer. Very good way to taste the offerings.
None of us felt the portions were large enough based on the cost. The food was very good. We all left feeling that we needed more to eat.
Enjoyed a relaxing Friday evening, great food and beer! Highly recommend!
The food here was creative and delicious. If it was just about the food I’d give 5 stars all day. However, all of us found the noise level unbearable, even when the place was far from full. We had trouble hearing each other.
We enjoyed the food. Creative, innovative and tasty. However three of us needed 5 of the sharing plates in order to be full. Some are very overpriced for what you get.
Loved this place all round. Our party of 6 did find the music too loud to include both ends of table in conversation. Food was absolutely fantastic - mouth exploded with flavors! Definitely going back.
Great service, great food, great value. Highly recommend Biera to anyone. 5 star eats at 4 star prices. Well done.
We were there for our 10 th wedding anniversary and it was awesome. The food was so good!
Not the restaurant’s fault but we had a patio table, extremely noisy from 4 way stop. I wish folks could find some more constructive way to express themselves than with loud exhausts. Pour souls...
Everytime we go to Biera we enjoy delicious beer and the food is outstanding
Great food, interesting menu. The beer sampledoodle was good fun and tasty. Having 4 people was nice as we could sample a variety of things. We had beef tartar - the star of the night for me, although the minute steak was pretty spectacular, too. The only small disappointment was the ceviche. Although it was good, it was just too small and insubstantial.
A fun, open room, although that makes for lots of background noise. With my minor hearing impairment, that made hearing my dinner companions challenging.
Overall, terrific! We’ll go again.
Nice new restaurant. Local brewery. Be sure to try the beer flight. Meals are met to be shared. Ceviche was lovely with a bit of heat. Risotto had a neat mix of grains and couch but the best was the grilled Acme chicken
It was a wonderful experience at Biera. However...we didn't like that we couldn't order half the menu after 6pm. It was 6:02 and we couldn't order some of the dishes we heard so much about. Other than that...it was some of the best food we have tasted in the city.
We were at Biera celebrating our anniversary. While it was a great choice for what was a superb meal it is not a romantic venue for an anniversary, as it was casual and bustling.
The food was innovative and extremely tasty, combining flavours in an imaginative and balanced fashion (eg sweetened hazelnuts complementing a charred spinach dish with a creamy subtle cheese hiding underneath the spinach). Likewise the pork shoulder was served with a jus that was truly mouth-watering: the only complaint was that the pork was a tad chewy. Maybe they could do the dish with pork tenderloin instead. Loved the beer!
Staff was friendly and attentive though we did ask that we be allowed to finish one dish before moving on to the next, a message that did not seem to have been conveyed to the kitchen staff.
Would definitely go back again and try some different dishes and would certainly recommend to friends wanting an exceptional dining experience.
Absolutely fantastic meal!
Wonderful dining experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about all the craft beers and any menu items we asked about. Food was fantastic. Enjoyed everything we ate and drank. We will absolutely return.
Exceptional food experience! Each plate was uniquely presented and delicious. Tried the 4 beer sampler and was equally pleased with those flavours, too. Would highly recommend Biera.
This is a great place to get together with friends. The dishes are served to be shared and all eight of us enjoyed the wonderful food and the helpful staff.
One of the most creative menus in the City. But PLEASE bring back the potato dish that used to be on the menu. I cant live without it.
There's nothing else like it in Edmonton. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, GREAT FOOD.
We were amazed at the tastes the food offered. Excellent. The steak was best we’ve ever had!
It was a great experience! My friend and I try a new restaurant every month and this was definitely one of the best we’ve been to. A lot of it had to do with our server. I wish I could remember her name. She was very knowledgeable and explained the food perfectly. She was attentive, friendly but not fake perky. We really enjoyed her service. And of course the food was beautiful with very fresh flavours! Can’t wait to go back to try many more plates!
Once again Biera delivered. Outstanding dishes, full of flavours, great portions to share. The beer was also amazing. Crisp, fresh and delicious. The service was very courteous and readily available. Highly recommended. We are lucky to have Chef Christine in Edmonron.
Really nice dining! 2things: super high noise level, we had to yell to each other. I made an online reservation for dinner at 6pm. When I arrived the host said that we had 1.5 hours for our dinner. That was annoying as it was a business occasion and we had to talk through a lot of stuff. We were able to stay longer at our table, so all good, but not a good way to deal with customers of a reserved table! Glad to have Biera in Edmonton!
Fabulous food! The server was very knowledgeable. This was our second time there and we'll be back again.
The service was below expectations. We had called the day before to add two people to our reservation to make it for four people. We were told that was impossible. When the two of us got there we were seated at a four person table, so I’m not sure why we were not allowed to have a reservation for four people.
It was our first time there, and we wanted to do the 4 beer flight with each of us trying 4 different beers so we could try all 8 they had on tap. We were told the flights were a set 4 beer and we were not allowed to try all 8. We were allowed to switch out one beer per flight. Considering all the beers were on tap and all the same price it made no sense that they would not allow us to select our beers for the flight.
The food itself was good, however, our server could not remember my allergies (told her I was allergic to eggs, then recommended the only dish with eggs in it for me to try). Also the timing of the plates coming out was odd (the tomato salad was the last dish to come out, came out after the mains).
The cheese course was good but vastly overpriced. To try three cheeses with cracker and a side of honey we paid $47.
Overall the food and beer were interesting and well executed, however, given the poor service and price as well as arbitrary rules for beer sampling significantly detracted the overall experience.
My husband and I had a fantastic anniversary dinner at Biera. The service from the host and our waitress blew us away. Our waitress seemed to appear immediately every time we needed her. The food was creative and delicious, and when we didn't like one of the dishes, the waitress helped us quickly find another dish (she took it off our bill), AND she brought over some of their famous sourdough bread so we wouldn't go hungry waiting for the next dish. We had the nestle gnocchi, minute steak, and goat kefir tart, all of which were delicious. At the end of dinner, we found out that they had treated us to dessert since it was our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
This was one of the best experiences we had in the last few months. Every morsel of food was delicious, fresh, beautifully presented. Waitress was professional, we didn't feel rushed and had enough time to eat and talk to our friends. We had sourdough with lard or butter, beef tartare, gnocchi, blood sausage and risotto. Finished our meal with pear sorbet. Lovely and would go there again for sure to try other items from the menu.
It was very noisy, but it was a Friday night. Food was OK but the beer was good. Table location was poor, right at the front door. I would attend again with hopes of a better experience. Not sure what my friend thought of it for her 40th birthday.
Innovative food options, helpful servers, and the ability to order just enough to satisfy. It was our eleventh anniversary, and the waitress ensured to wish us the best and comp our “Sampledoodles.” Very impressed. Will be back for sure.
This is a funky little gem in the heart of Richie. We typically share items from the menu and have never been disappointed. Each dish is very imaginative and beautifully presented.
Our niece was visiting from California.
Never disappoints - it only impresses. A serious exploration into flavours and textures, and with portion sizes that will leave you full!
My favourite restaurant in the city.
