Innovative food options, helpful servers, and the ability to order just enough to satisfy. It was our eleventh anniversary, and the waitress ensured to wish us the best and comp our “Sampledoodles.” Very impressed. Will be back for sure.
This is a funky little gem in the heart of Richie. We typically share items from the menu and have never been disappointed. Each dish is very imaginative and beautifully presented.
Our niece was visiting from California.
Never disappoints - it only impresses. A serious exploration into flavours and textures, and with portion sizes that will leave you full!
My favourite restaurant in the city.
Very cool atmosphere and location. Love to see the rejuvenation into established neighborhoods. Our best dish was the steak, very well prepared, really enjoyed it. Two complaints would be noise level, quite noisy with the high ceiling and construction style and thought a little pricey for what you get.
Great location - parking was a little difficult. The main dining room is very noisy but still has a great ambiance. The food was wonderful - very different and enjoyable. We will return!
Very nice restaurant, great beer, fantastic food. Very enjoyable dining experience.
Excellent food but I think the price point is inflated even taking into consideration the quality of the offerings.
For example $5 each for ~ 2 Tbsp of artisanal jam and fermented beer honey. $20 for 4 pieces of sour dough bread
So glad we finally got in to try this restaurant. Everything was great. The food, the service and the drinks. The only downside was that we were only two people and this limited the number of dishes we could try. We will be back for dinner again and are already planning a weekend lunch trip so we can try the snack menu. My only complaint would be that 90 minutes for the reservation is cutting it a bit tight and you really need to eat at a good pace to make that work. I was taking my last bite of desert with 3 minutes to spare, could do with another 15-30 minutes so you can slow down and enjoy the experience a bit more. Still giving 5 stars though.
We had a good time for the food and beer. My friend found that the service seemed a bit rush. This made him feel a bit unwelcome.
We sat on the patio and the atmosphere was vibrant and enjoyable. The menu had several great vegetarian options which was favorable for my wife. Overall we had a great experience, but suggest that you if you plan on ordering dessert make sure you get a good description of each item. The Spruce Tip Ice Cream is creative but may disappoint you if you are looking for a traditional "ice cream" experience.
This is a great place.
Each of our experiences at Biera have been quite wonderful. Constance was our server this time and she fits the bill very well. She is knowledgeable, friendly and very professional in a pleasant manner. The food service has unique twists incorporating local products and is excellent. Certainly recommend
Our table was not ready for us. We arrived at 8:30 and were seated in the patio and told that once our table was ready they would let us know. The table never was ready. We stayed until approx 10:30. I prefer more main stream traditional dishes... (bruschetta, salads, charcuterie etc) would be awesome additions)
Loved it! Great food and awesome beer!!! The service was very good!
Birthday celebration. Food was flavourful and scrumptious. The host was friendly and our waitress was good. Beer and wine excellent. We came after 6 for dinner. The restaurant was loud and conversation was sometimes difficult, even around our table of four. It would have been nice to have more than one dish on the table at the same time. Instead, each was brought out separately. On the positive side, they timed it perfectly and we were never sitting and waiting for more food. Overall it was super and we would go again!
Food was exceptional. Beer not quite as refined but they are working on it. Service was very hit and miss. Offered to sample beers but never came back to take the actual drink order. Lack of server attentiveness cost this place full marks.
The food was really excellent & very creative. however, the service was increadibly rushed. Plates for sharing came in rapid succession & were too big for the table, which was disruptive because we would reorganize the table and rush to finish. We really had the impression of fast food or just wanting to turn the table over.
We felt rushed as we only had 90 minutes with our reservation (and we were reminded of that twice during our meal, even though the restaurant itself wasn't even full, nor was the bar or charcuterie lounge). We felt like we couldn't enjoy our food or experience as much as we wanted. Due to slow service, we didn't feel like we could enjoy as much as we wanted as everything took so long to get to us. My husband, for example, was almost done his meal before mine even came out. Our server was new and didn't know the products well (ie: didn't know the wines at all), and/or didn't know how to handle situations...ie: when waiting for my food, she came to make sure that my husbands food was to standard, however, didn't give me an update or reason why I didn't have my food yet in front of me?!? We were there just over the 90 minute mark and we only had an entree and dessert even though we would have loved to have had more, but with time restraints and the wait, we couldn't. I will say the food was phenomenal and we did enjoy that aspect of it. However, I don't think this will be my first go to when deciding our next date night.
Great wines as well as beer! Thoughtful food and super pleasant service
We celebrated a work milestone together. BIERA is usually difficult to get into, but being a Wednesday night we were exited to be able to get in.. The menu is small but the tastes are mighty! The service was personal and on pointe. The food is creatively presented and fantastic. The sharing plates are fun and with the menu always being updated to meet the local, produce availability, we absolutely loved our menu choices; full of flavour and unusual combinations that worked so well.
Biera NEVER disappoints. The food is creative and local plus Always Consistently Excellent! Love it!
Great service and vibe. We will be back.
Booked my table well in advance for a special occasion. Being a beer fan I expected since it is a brewery there would be more emphasis on the beer as well as the food. There wasn’t, the flight wasn’t labeled to identify which beer was which. High marks for the beer all around but since the table was so small and cramped it really reduced the enjoyment of the evening. Even the staff were having a hard time finding a place to set the dishes we ordered for our table. They actually had to ask if we wanted to pack some items up as we were eating them. Food was excellent but with the logistics of finding room on the table for our item made it seem rushed and disorganized.
Very unique and tasty food, nice patio, great original beer selection.
Food really good, helpful and interested server. Beer was great overall very pleased. Small item tables a bit squeezed for 4 people considering dishes are served family style, struggling to find room on occasion for all the plates, minor thing really. Wont put me off going again that's for sure.
Enjoyed everything we had. Glad to see wine as one of us does not drink beer. Did not have a chance for dessert but will save room next time. Highly recommend.
Great food, great place
All the food was excellent. The only thing that the four of us found underwhelming was the malt cake for dessert- it was lackluster in comparison to the stellar savory dishes.
It was good, but food did not live up to the hype. Bodega is better by a mile. Service was superb, however.
Had an amazing refreshing white wine from Italy here. Wish I remembered the name of it.
A little overpriced for what you get food-wise. All the dishes seemed a little too acidic or vinegar-heavy to be super enjoyable.
If there was a star-level called "interesting'weird" I would have chosen that. Funky atmosphere, great beer. Don't expect to know what's coming out of the kitchen...all very experimental feeling and certainly unlike the ordinary. If that's your thing, you'll like Biera.
Delicious meals await... when you can get them.
Inanely, you can't get any of the wonderful appetizers past 6pm to pair with the exceptional beers. Nor can you get larger plates before 6pm, timelines which are strictly and rigidly enforced by the disaffected servers.
This decision unfortunately removes Biera from the realm of generally-recommendable, casual go-tos, and takes away from what is otherwise a highly enjoyable dining experience and venue. The beers are so reliably good, it's a crime that they offer no snacks (beyond a cheese plate) to complement a tasting flight over the evening hours.
Food good, but few healthy options. Would be great if there was option for something on the healthy side.
The food was very interesting and unique, the only nit pick I have is that our mussels came out cold, and should have been hot, and the dessert malt cake was very very tangy, to the point it hurt our mouth! Instead of a tangy purée under a tangy cake I would go with a more subtle fruit like pear! The taste on everything else was spot on! The endive dish is absolutely phenomenal!
Great beer, limited but interesting menu, service was not very good (rather indifferent, took our plates/glasses before we were finished, etc).
Had a great time, food was all quite good, and the two beers I had were excellent. Only downside is that it is quite noisy.
Great service and attention. Interesting menu and great beer. Wonderful decor and space.
EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! Nice atmosphere. Classy upscale brewpub vibe but comfortable. Great beer and tasty gourmet bites, not typical pub fare by any means.
