BIERA - Ritchie Market
We ordered the beef tartar, chicken with chinese cabbage, and the squid. 1st 2 dishes were excellent. The squid not so much. It was quite salty. The sauce was over powering. We both felt grossed out after. But the only you're going to know is to try. Overall great service/ambience. Would go back.
the ambiance is warm and inviting. the food was amazing!
Wish there had been more options on the menu for a warm and hearty meal on a cold night. Would have liked a steak option, but that's a personal preference. Overall we enjoyed the experience.
where to start! the restaurant is beautiful, as is the brewery. table and chairs comfortable and not too loud or quiet. the location is great and parking was no problem on a Friday night. Our waitress was great, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. we had a few pre selected choices but she recommended some as well and we were happy she did. The sourdough was amazing as we had hoped for but i dare say it exceeded my expectation. we chose the Korean short rib which was fantastic with its accompaniments, very well done. The recommendation from our waitress was for the radicchio, words can scarcely explain this dish. I'm not a fan or grilled or wilted or warm in any way greens but this was nearly witchcraft. I am a changed man (at least at Biera), each bite was a different flavor explosion and i am not sure how it was possible. i could have kept going trying to replicate these tastes all night. needless to say, even though i did, i can not wait to come back and try everything else on this menu.
The service was spectacular. Our waitress shared stories with us and listened to ours - we never felt rushed or ill at ease. She was friendly, and did a fantastic job explaining the dishes and the way the restaurant worked. She spoke with passion about the inner workings of the restaurant and made us feel as though Biera was not just a great little restaurant but a responsible business in the community. And the food? The food far surpassed our expectations, and we'd been expecting a lot. I can still taste that tartare, or the rizotto, or that dessert... every single bite was an experience. The flavours were rich and multi-layered, and sailing through our dishes felt like an adventure. Honestly, the best restaurant experience we've had in the city this year, no question.
My second visit was not as good as the first. I raved about the short ribs to my guest but both of us were so disappointed with it being dry and tough. Anyway, I will come back for third try next time in the city n will recommend with caveats.
Beer was okay, nothing extra. Food was good, but felt it was overpriced.
Main courses where excellent but desserts we're not. Need to have desserts that match the quality of the food. Desserts were the biggest disappointment. Should have never ordered it.
Most dishes were much too salty. Service and atmosphere were good
Great experience and wonderful service
Excellent food and service! Awesome beer selection.
We had a reservation planned a couple weeks early for 4 people. Showed up on time but our table wasn't ready. Waited 1/2 hour and had to go remind the hostess we still had no table and were about to leave. Once they were re notified we were promptly seated and first round of drinks were on the house. Excellent food and share plates were portioned appropriately. Once we came around to ordering dessert it also took a substantial amount of time. I felt bad for our waitress as she did all she possibly could. Ended up comping the desserts as well which was nice. Overall food quality saved the day and we all agreed giving a second chance at some point in the near future. PS> Beer flight taster was great.
As always, excellent food. We continue to highly recommend Biera to everyone. Thank you for a great evening.
Our first visit and we will be back. Everything was wonderful. Great wine list in addition to their beers. The grilled squid was amazing. Beautiful room and terrific ambience.
Overall excellent experience. Great food, service was fast and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is very unique. Beer and food pairings couldn’t be beat.
Food was interesting and delicious. Service was excellent.
The food was varied, interesting and novel. The grilled radicchio was a very pleasant surprise. The cerviche was spicy, fresh and refreshing. Overall it was a very nice meal and the flight of beer was a nice walk through of different styles and approaches.
Unfortunately no. We had to ask for one of our dishes 3 times before it came. The special was over priced for what we got, 2 small prawns for each guest. Overall the food items are over priced for what you get.
Food menu is awkward and the dishes we ordered were just ok...not worth the price. If a restaurant is going to charge these prices the dishes better be spectacular like at range road or corso 32.
Best food in Edmonton!
Not sure how this place gets its accolades....Food was meh at best, Beer was great tho. Come for a beer but not for food.
We get it, you can eat the flowers.
Loved this place. The shareable food was all excellent and the microbrews were awesome as well. Will definitely be back!
Our experience at Biera was wonderful and would recommend it to anyone for a special and fun night out. There is a vibe and the street noise was a bit much, given that we were seated near the open patio but we could still manage to hear each other. The server was excellent, describing every dish and making suggestions. The ambiance is unlike anything else in the city because of the wide open space and visible brewing taking place simultaneously. A real treat.
Excellent date night spot. Casual yet intimate. Excellent food, small plates are delicious and a little pricey but the quality of the food makes it a nice treat! Obviously, the beer is amazing! the Servers/staff were all so friendly and knowledgable!
The food was incredible. This is a must visit for any “foodie” the ambience was just mostly loud inside the restaurant. The Patio looked as if it would be a great lace to sit on a nice day/night. The service quality was very poor
We had an amazing experience at BIERA. Food was delicious, staff were attentive and knowledgable about the menu and the atmosphere was lively for a Thursday evening. Will definitely be going back.
Not a huge selection of meat selections but the food is deliciously cooked, and their beer is tasty. The whole experience left me wanting to return asap.
The waiting staff were very professional and accommodating. The beer selection was impressive and could satisfy different tastes. The wine selection was very limited and expensive. We had the sourdough bread with butter and lard spreads. The butter was overly salty, but the bread was excellent on its own. We ordered the lobster mushrooms, which were excellent. I’d return just for that dish. Then we had the short ribs: good but with some fatty bits.
Great service with only issue was small food portions for price
Great atmosphere amazing food good service
Very nice change
Best restaurant in the city in my opinion,
Food presentation and flavor is outstanding and love the share factor
Nicely designed facility. All servers were excellent, very committed! Food was great, portions maybe a bit small (ceviche), but fine. Very limited selection for non-beer drinkers. Almost no wine. Aperol cocktail welcomed. Quite loud, expected for the reflective design, not an issue, more lively. Have been to the patio before and it is excellent, great heaters.
Every dish was delicious and was different. Most dishes has fresh salad or vegetable which we enjoyed
Delicious food. We love doing small plates to share a bunch of menu items, and this place was exactly that type. The restaurant is very nice. Beautiful patio as well.
Without a doubt I would recommend Biera! The food was not only inventive but every bite was worth savoring. We were a party of four and although some had preferences between us there was not one dish that anyone said they would not order again or was lack luster. Our only disappoint was dessert. They were out of the doughnuts so we had fig icecream, the marshmallows and one other (sorry I've forgotten which one). None really were special. But it's a quibble after such spectacular fare. They are a beer place so if you are more into wine..the list is short. 3 whites and 3 reds.
Great food, very poor service
The food, location, service, atmosphere - every touchpoint was fantastic. A great way to celebrate my birthday with family and friends!
Food was a disappointment. The chicken was very salty, the Korean short ribs where ok, but nothing special. We ordered the Sourdough appetizer and are still in shock at paying $12.00 for a slice of bread. The service was very good, but I do not feel food justified the price.
Fantastic restaurant- all of the food we ate was amazing
