   Bills has fallen very far. Food was beyond terrible, incinerated chicken goujons that couldn’t even be cut with a sharp knife. Kids hated it. I hated it. Service was non-existent.

   Great dining experience in a nice cafe across from the train station. I wanted a decent Full English Breakfast and was not disappointed, plus the availability of vegetarian options for my guests made this place perfect. Tip for tall people if you sit near the windows: mind your head! There are low hanging, iron chandeliers with pointy bottoms!

   Everything was great but was disappointed when we asked if the birthday girl could have fish pie to only be told they didn't do it anymore!! lhad said if we wait for 5 minutes is there a separate dinner menu.... Told no this is the only menu! As we were about to leave noticed the pink menu with more choice and FISH PIE on there!! Chicken shawarma could have been served on a warmer plate as cold when finished up !! Pasta with prawn and lobster (substitute for birthday girl) was fantastic

   Dumpling starter was tasty and enjoyed. Classic burger bun had been burnt. At first thought it was a chargrill flavour but in the end it had just been toasted too long so had a noticeable bitterness. Beef patty was nicely cooked though and fries also tasty. Kitchen couldn’t cope with a busy restaurant however which meant the coffee was delivered before the dessert, and had to be drunk before it got cold so that part of the meal got out of sync. Servers were friendly and realised things were taking too long. Overall, and on reflection, should have said more at the time but we were then off to a concert and who wants to spoil an evening by complaining. The concert was great fun, btw, but Bills is off the list for future meals.

    Food and ambience lovely but was left very disappointed with the service. We had nearly finished our starters before we got our drinks, and had to ask again for water. We were given a different bottle of red wine to the one we ordered and we weren’t informed of this when is was brought over. Luckily we did like the one we were given! Then at approx 17:40, whilst my sister in law was still eating her main, we were told the manager wanted our table by 18:00. Why weren’t we told this at the start? The bill was brought over and paid just as she finished. Not even asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. We weren’t impressed by this at all, and won’t be returning in a hurry. A shame as the food was actually lovely.

    Usually love Bills but we were disappointed. Service was slow, we were sat far too close to the door so it was cold and noisy. Food was poor quality, cold and a very small portion for the price.

    Seemed a little chaotic to past service. Staff pleasant enough but huddle of staff talking instead of serving. Waited half hour for a drink. Unbelievable at 8 pm on a Saturday they didn’t have a single bottle of Rose wine of any of the choices left on the premises. Unless they have deliveries on a Sunday no doubt customers will be disappointed today. With a Tescos and Sainsbury’s close by you would think manager could be authorised to get some in. Food was very good and served promptly . The young student waitress from Bath was very good.

    Nice Bills, one of the best we’ve visited. Quick service and hot food. Glad we booked as it was busy on a Friday night. The only negative would be the long walk to the toilets, which could have been cleaner. Will definitely return.

    Food and service was great considering how busy it was but the toilets were disgusting - in need of an overhaul and very unclean!!! Made me think about cleanliness and hygiene rating of the kitchens that for sure!

    We booked a table for an early dinner. Our table was near a fire door which was in constant use to serve the outdoor tables. The door didn’t open and close effectively, and made the area very cold. One of us had to keep closing the door, but the staff didn’t seem to notice. The food was tasty, but pricey for what it was. The food fumes were very overwhelming in the place, despite the door. Our clothes smelt strongly afterwards. We won’t go back again.

    Wow. We were 10 people on a busy Friday night with a big party being seated ahead of us. I resigned myself to waiting. I resigned myself to orders being taken down wrong as 10 people asking for salad without olives and adding extras and changing their minds halfway through would drive any waiting staff mad. And yet...wow! Our waitress was calm, our drinks flowed, our starters and main turned up on time and not one order wrong! This is an art. People who work in hospitality are grievously underappreciated in this country. Good service is as much an art form as the wonderful chefs creating masterpieces. Did I mention the food was sublime? Absolutely faultless. Thank you for looking after us so well.

    Fantastic food each time we've been. A bit of a wait after ordering drinks and then for starters to arrive. Staff are friendly and overall a great experience. However, there is no hot water in the toilet sink and their isn't a way to dry your hands besides using the toilet roll, would recommend disposable paper towels. I would rate Bill's a 7/10, purely down to the unhygienic hand wash facilities and long waiting times for food and drinks.

    Excellent attentive service during busy period and whilst they got my repeat beer order wrong twice it did get sorted without a fuss and without being charged for errors! Our two young grandsons 2 & 4 well catered for although no crayons etc and on food, no burgers at 6pm? Seafood Linguini and Steak were excellent. Will return for sure!
