Service was great, room was lovely, and drinks were delicious. The food lacked a bit of flavour (salmon crudo and greens salad) and the lighting was a bit too dark. None of us could read our menus very well. Maybe candles on the table? The only other issue was there were customers blatantly doing cocaine at a table near us, which made it a bit awkward.

Well. Although the waitress was really nice she forgot one thing I ordered and got the wrong pizza. I had no time so I ate it anyway it was delicious. Service was fast so great for that we were heading to the game. Maybe music slightly less loud otherwise really cool place and cool stuff on the menu. Just little minor details

My fiancé and i shared the brie appetizer and it was absolutely phenomenal, neither of us actually read the description so when i came looking like a poutine we were confused but boy oh boy! The brie poutine hit all the taste buds in an incredible way, sweet and salty with cracks of pepper, 10/10 would try it again!

Excellent apart from the noise level: astounding! I enjoy conversing with my friends while dining and it was nearly impossible to hear across the table. Perhaps something structurally can be done to elieviate this problem. I would not come back nor recommend it until that happens. Sorry!

We had a really enjoyable time. The service was great! The quality of food and drink was outstanding! Unlike other reviewers my husband and I did not find the restaurant noisy at all. The music was at an acceptable level even when the restaurant was full. We did not have difficulty speaking to one another or hearing the service staff.

Birdog just gave me one of the most satisfying dining experiences I've had in years. I stopped in with a friend this past Tuesday to try their Downtown Dining Week special and we were blown away. The lighting is low and the atmosphere is energetic. Plenty of rich dark colours and a very well-stocked bar. A perfect place to bring a date but also moody enough to allow for comfortable dining alone. Sit yourself in a quiet corner and pretend you're in a Mickey Spillane novel. But let's talk about the food. The Steak Tartare, made from Alberta beef and marrow and served on a roasted bone, was outstanding. It paired perfectly with a double shot of the excellent Bourbon that was recommended to me by their very knowledgeable bartender. This must be what it feels like to be John Wick. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The room is beautiful, the food is excellent and the service is top-notch. I recommend Birdog to anyone with a bit of romance and adventure in their heart. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends, a date, or even by yourself. I will definitely be adding Birdog to my list of regular haunts, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their incredible dishes.

Birdog was a nice evening out. It's part of the Century Hospitality Group (Parlour, Rebel, Lux, Hart's, etc.) and has a familiar feel to their menu, but a different feel to the room than many of their other venues in the city. The room has a good vibe - hip look, urban music, classic movies on the screens. The menu was creative and food was presented well - steak tartare served in a 1/2 bone so you can scrape it out & add egg & mustard to taste; nice crust on the pizzas with some interesting toppings (mortadella & pistachios); well seasoned salads. I would pass on the cauliflower - it's fine... not bad but nothing wow or special, so I would recommend trying something different. Cocktails were tasty, inventive and pretty pricey if you're going to have more than two of their special drinks. Service was average. Would recommend trying it out for the experience the kitchen is putting out...
