Fun night out with friends. The food was fabulous. A few people mentioned that their servings were small and were still a bit hungry. We think that maybe they were served restaurant week servings even though they didn’t order from the restaurant week menu.
Our server seemed annoyed with us from the beginning. Bar service was great (we had a drink before we were seated).
The lighting was a bit dim but otherwise the atmosphere was enjoyable.
We had a good meal at Birroteca. Meatballs were yummy. Pizza was very good. Wine bottles reasonably priced. Hard to have a group conversation because of the loud atmosphere but we still had a great time! Fun place!
We arrived at 6:30 and I ordered a glass of Chardonnay - our waiter came back and said there wasn't one bottle of Chardonnay to be found ... I found this strange but switched to a Pinot Gris ! We then ordered appetizers - The grilled Calamari is very tender and very good ... we enjoyed it ! The fried chickpeas were a little too spicy with cayenne pepper, I only ate a few as they were too hot - a little less heat would make them better in my opinion ! Our entrees were favorable overall except my husband who had the Mahi Mahi didn't like his at all - we all tried it and agreed it was bland ! It was the most expensive item on the menu so it should have been better ! It was also visually unappealing !
The worst part of the meal was the dessert - it was supposed to be Creme brûlée but it was soft and warm and did not have the torched carmalized sugar on top - our favorite part - it was more like a warm custard and it wasn't good ! We didn't eat it and we didn't complain - that's not our nature ... we ate what we liked and didn't eat what we didn't like !
Our server wasn't bad per se' since we were seated at a high top in the bar area ... he seemed very busy so I understood that !
Our bill was 300.00 for 4 of us on a Tuesday night dinner .... which is way more than usual ... in the future I would hope for better service ! I'm not sure we would come back and I would only recommend it by saying - don't get the Mahi Mahi !
3rd time there: first just the two of us 70-year-old; liked so much we brought a 92-year-old next time; most recent time brought our 32-year-old nephew. Birrotecca has appeal to all ages + plus is very kid-friendly
Nice place with nice staff. Amaretto French toast was good flavor not so great on texture- too wet. Portions were a hearty size.
love the food. kale salad, duck, eggplant pizza, peach cobbler, all delicious. the noise was off the charts and the service was super slow, though wait staff was really nice and very apologetic about the delays.
Food was overall really, really good. Portions were great and flavors were very unique.
Perhaps they were a little understaffed this evening. Waitstaff seemed a little confused and slow, but incredibly friendly. Drinks took quite a while to come to the table, but the waitress was very candid in letting us know the bartender was swamped.
Booked a night out with my out of town college age son and husband for Restaurant Week on Saturday night and was pretty disappointed with the our service, specifically our waitress and the hostess. Our appetizer came quickly however she never asked if we wanted beer refills or returned to give updates on our pizzas -- after about an hour we got her attention and she said "it'll be out when its ready" . Magically another guy came and started taking care of our table and he was great. But that didn't keep the hostess from coming back to the table and asking us if it "was worth the wait" -- probably not something I would expect after an hour and a half - especially with empty tables in plain sight. Pizza was ok but not worth the wait or frustration.
Went for Restaurant Week. Good food. The duck was delicious. Our complaints are related to the space. Very noisy due to loud conversations. It was hard to hear one another at our table. The space was very dark, making stairs difficulty to navigate. Please put a handrail on stairs. Although it was only three steps, it makes it hard for people with disabilities to navigate.
The food was tasty. The service pleasant, friendly but slow. Food not worth what it cost. Portion of pasta small. We just wondered how did the meal cost as much as it did. Don’t mind paying but want to feel meal worth what I paid.
Margherita pizza was good, but needed more basil.
My husband and I went to dinner at Birroteca to celebrate Baltimore Restaurant Week and it was such a treat! We loved the cocktails, appetizers, dinner and dessert. I am so excited to get back there in the future and am so glad we finally tried it.
Food was delicious. The sage, candied walnut and Gorgonzola pizza was good, but a bit sweet for me. My family liked the Puttanesca pizza. Clams and pasta was yummy, especially the broth. Loved the crispy cauliflower. All in all, very good but none of us cared for the desserts. Would skip them next time.
This was our first time to Birroteca after hearing great things from friends and co workers. It was fabulous. We ordered the brussel sprouts app. which was amazing. I always order brussel sprouts at restaurants and these were by far the best! margarita pizza with meatballs was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. To top off the meal we enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine. Will definitely go back to this place!
Restaurant week items were great except the desserts. They left something to be desired.
Six of us went to Birroteca after work to celebrate a new hire and were telling our new colleague how great a restaurant it was. I hadn't been in close to a year, however. There was so much wrong with our meal and experience that it's hard to think Birroteca was just having a bad night. Artichoke was tough and utterly tasteless. They were out of the crispy duck, their signature dish, which we weren't told about until 10 to 15 minutes after we ordered. We substituted the lamb, which we ordered medium rare, and it came out gray, which is deadly for lamb. The risotto it was on was watery and without flavor. Waiter said they would get us a new one, then disappeared. We waited for what seemed like forever and when the lamb still didn't come we told them to forget it and just give us the bill. And, had I not checked the itemization, we would have been charged for the lamb. Manager gave us a $50 gift card - why didn't they just not charge u? - and told us she hoped we would come back.
Delicious food on a dreary day! The peach short cake was devoured!
We had the blackened brussel sprouts as an appetizer among 3 of us. It was plentiful and delicious! Two of us really enjoyed our pasta meals. Our third person ordered gnocchi and could not eat it. She normally loves gnocchi and was very disappointed. The potato pasta was like mush. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating and brought another meal to the gnocchi person which she liked very much. All in all, it was great--just don't order the gnocchi. Also, prices in the lounge are almost half of what things cost in the restaurant, so if you don't mind noise by all means sit in the lounge during happy hour. We sat in the restaurant as we wanted to have conversations. You do not get happy hour prices in the restaurant which seems unfair and also somewhat disappointing.
great atmosphere. great daily specials. very enjoyable!
The grilled calamari was disappointing only because it consisted of about 5 small pieces of calamari with a potato recipe on the side and it was 17 dollars.
Our food took over an hour to come out, but the waiter (Sebastian) was incredibly apologetic, comped our meal, and gave us free dessert. Once the food arrived, everything was delicious.
Great selection of beers. The pizza, pasta and other food is so-so. The best dish was the calamari appetizer. Otherwise, the pasta tasted commercial and was over cooked. The pizza was not good.
We had a fabulous dinner. We ate over a two hour period not feeling rushed.
Great find. Good bar menu. Pizza and appetizers selection. Service and food were excellent.
The food was good and the staff is pleasant. We sat at high tables in the bar area and had my mother-in-law who is 78 years old. Frankly, it was too loud in the bar area. I would go to the bar again with friends. They have an excellent beer selection. I would ask for a table in the dining area if I wanted a quiet dinner.
Ate on the patio on a Friday night just after 4th of July so it was busy but not completely crammed. The patio was not noisy but inside it would have been hard to hear. Food was fine. We got the chopped salad and puttanesca pizza and both were enjoyable. However our drinks arrived when we were almost done with our salad course. They did apologize sting that the bar was backed up but did not offer any compensation.
Perfect-- We ate outdoors. Thus could have a conversation. The food as usual was great, the selection wonderful and the service spot on.
The 6 of us shared everything -- Cauliflower, Eggplant, Brussels Sprout and Gnocchi as a first course
The Family style Duck and Lamb Chops were our second.
Would repeat anytime.
My girlfriend, her parents and I went to Birroteca for dinner on 4th of July. We absolutely enjoyed it. The food was really good (we all got pasta, split some appetizers and a charcuterie plate). When I go back I'm definitely getting a pizza. They looked AMAZING. My girlfriend also enjoyed the cocktails.
Too noisy for conversation. Brussel sprouts always a winner. Didnt like the new take on pork belly
Food was fantastic as usual, just multiple serving mistakes that detracted a bit from the overall experience
Beet salad was fantastic. Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Gnocchi was so so, seemed undercooked in my opinion. Risotto was not a risotto it was cooked with a long grain rice and not a short grain rice and was not good and overpriced. The steak tartar was very good. The Service was above average. Overall experience was good and the food was average.
Great place. Had dinner there with friends before Peter Frampton/Steve Miller concert. Service was exceptional and food was both creative and well prepared. Beer lists were good and the rooms were cozy and well restored. It’s worth s visit if you are looking for a new place with good service/food/ambiance 🍺
Delicious pizza, great cocktails, and an extensive beer/wine list along with a cozy, low-key vibe.
Everything was great! We arrived early to have a drink in the bar. We were seated outside, which is small, but quaint. Our server was great and the food was excellent!! I’ve never had calamari in that style and it was so fresh and tender. My husband and I shared a salad and 2 pizzas. More than enough food and it was very tasty. We were very pleased and plan to go back soon!!
Delicious pizza! great selection of appetizers, yummy cocktails, friendly, unhurried, informative waitstaff. perfect place to unwind.
Fathers Day. Not too terribly busy, so noise level was down a bit. Our server was very good. Only qualm: some of the pizzas weren’t piping hot when served. Still delicious. Waitress offered to put them back in the oven for a minute, but we just ate them without the rewarding.
The food was delicious and Danny K was an awesome server. We had a bad experience a few years back but decided to give it another shot for Father’s Day brunch and we were so glad we did! We’ll definitely be going back for more.
Birroteca is not far from where we live and we've been meaning to try it. We went for the first time several weeks ago and were stunned at how busy it was at 5:30. Admittedly it was a Saturday, but it was the day of the deluge.
The food was delicious and the service great.
We observed others ordering pizza both couples and families with children and put it on our list for a place to order pizza when our grandchildren come to town.
We went a second time with a 91-year-old friend, this time having made a reservation, and it was relatively easy for her to navigate despite the fact that she walks a little unsteadily with a cane.
Everything was great! We enjoyed our time and the food was great. Our server was very knowledgeable. Would definitely go back!
The pizza was salty and the pasta wasnt that tasty. Not worth it.
