Open Sushi Bar
Excellent food, excellent sake, excellent service!
I go here by myself and sit at the bar and just enjoy the food. Omakase! Do it!
Food was great, service was good but they forgot one item. Definitely order off of the daily special menu, lots of fresh fish from Japan.
Great place to have wonderful omakase! Chief offer us very special sushi. My favourite place to get topical Japanese food!
My regular go to happy hour!
Wentvthere two nights in a row for happy hour dinner excellent food and good service
Excellent Birthday dinner! Thank you for the birthday dessert!! It was the best!
This is one of the best authentic sushi restaurants in Downtown Vancouver. There fish are fresh. They received oversea fish midweek (best time to go in my opinion). Some of their dishes would serve with “real wasabi”, the root not powder. Really appreciate the chefs’ techniques. You can see the details they put into the dishes. Great taste. Can get a real taste of Japan. The only thing is ventilation can be improved inside (patio is fine). Service is good. It’s my go-to-place for sushi in Downtown.
Very good place. Service was just wonderful. Fish is so fresh. Sushi is the one of best quality in town. Highly recommend the sake.
Very unique dishes! The sushi rolls are really good and different than the same old ones. We are satisfied after our first time.
one of the best experiences by far in Vancouver. Hidden gem in Yaletown everyone needs to try the omakase they offer it is 100% worth.
One of best fresh sushi around, directly from Tokyo food market
Excellent traditional and modern Japanese, very consistent quality!
Very nice and fresh food. Authentic fish from Japan. Rare to find these types of fish in japonese restaurants in Vancouver. Worth a visit but be prepared to spend money if you want to leave the place with a sated hunger.
Did not have the first two things I ordered and then there was attempt to up sell me which was clearly evident so I cancelled that item altogether.
Not a bad spot but there are a lot of Sushi Restaurants in Vancouver that I would refer people to rather than this one.
Second time here, overall good. Not as good as first experience. We could smell the bathroom from the outdoor pateo which was pretty unpleasant. But besides that, everything was good.
Food was good but nothing different from the usual sushi joint unless you order the fish from Japan. They have a Sake tasting menu which is cool. Had high expectations for the ambiance but it was similar to any other sushi restaurant. Decent quality for the price.
Two hours for our full meal. Waited about 20 minutes on average for each course.
Good food, tasty and special. Service was friendly but disorganized, had to remind them to bring our next course.
Food was amazing! Service was sub-par. Waitress didn't really know we had reservations. Asked for a sake recommendation when we ordered our dinner but the waitress forgot and had to ask another waiter.
Food was so delicious and the presentation was superb. Service was also excellent
We did the dine out menu, everything were delicious, my mushroom ravioli was the best I ever had. My husband liked his duck confit very much. We both enjoyed the warm goat cheese salad. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town.
Excellent food and service
Cool experience, liked it!
First I would like to mention that the food is great. Both Authentic and Fusion Food. Best sushi on the planet!
The pricing is a super valued. However, this restaurant doesn’t come without faults.
My last visit was on Feb 1 during dine out period. Nasty amount of people. I understand that it can be busy however, the
annoying part if the waiting a long time despite having a reservation. It is rather unforgiving that this restaurant cares more about quantity volume. I would rather you just raise the price of the menu!! Sometimes I question why the menu is so below reasonable priced and where the source of the food is coming from and if any consequences. Its kind of too good to be true.
My advice is to say If you can’t handle it just simply don’t take the reservation. WTF! The lady reception just smiles and doesn’t care much. Just my two cents.
dinner was excellent - service slipped because it was very busy.
We went there to try on their dine out menu. It was really amazing! We did the wine pairing which it’s totally worth it. Highly recommend it.
Great value on the Dine Out menu! Lots of food for the price, and good quality. The pairings were great, too (both wine and sake options). First course salad with side of thinly sliced sashimi was lovely with bright citrus flavours. Second course aburi sushi was tasty (because aburi!), and it was quite good, but I have to say I like Miku a little better for aburi. Third course of four small Japanese dishes was wonderful and showcased the elegant simplicity of traditional Japanese food. The pork belly (while definitely not traditional) was nicely done with a soy glaze on the crispy top; the steamed seafood was to die for (had the same flavours as a good chawan mushi); the fish tempura was perfectly light and crisp, and the truffle salt gave it that something special; and the veggies in broth had a delicious dashi flavour. The cooked beef dish reminded me of bulgogi, but the miso added a nice touch. The dessert was a lovely matcha panna cotta that was clean and well balanced. We left stuffed!!
This was our favourite Dine Out restaurant by far. The service was attentive and informative. The food was delicious and the presentation was creative. This was better than I expected.
I went with my son on Jan 20, Sat to celebrate his achievements at work. We went for the dine out $40 menu. A waitress served our main dishes but one of the Chef at the sushi bar stopped her. So she took them back, then place them on our table. She did this twice before finally leave them on our table. One of the clam in one of the dishes is not open so I informed the Manager, he took it to the Chef & end up brought back open & said Chef advised ok to eat. I can’t even get it out from the shell! The restaurant is small with too many tables. Very noisy & no privacy to chat. I was so afraid some of the dishes were going to end up on my son’s head. I will not go back & not recommend anyone to eat there.
Our family of five went for dine-out menu and we all thought it was extremely worth it. Food was tasty, portions were generous and service was excellent. We especially loved the appetizers and desert. YUMMY. I went last year for dine out too and thought menu was better last year but still not disappointed with this year.
Great menu for dine out. It showcased a variety of food and it was worth it!
Great tasting food. A few dishes are pricey for what you get, but all tastes great.
Love to eat here!
Fresh fish. Excellent presentation.
Quite possibly the best sushi in Vancouver. That good. I recommend the pork belly. Incredible.
Fantastic service and excellent sushi. Will be back again!
One of our favorite sushi restaurants in Vancouver. Food and service are excellent. Try their in house smoked sashimi - amazing!!!
Yama is an excellent chef. Great variety of fish. Fresh & tasty. Had a very good hamachi Kama. Very good service.
After we were seated we waited, it took them nearly 10 minutes to bring us our menus. Not too long after that, we were approached asked if we had a reservation- even though we had told them about our reservation when we arrived and were told that this was our table. Overall, the food was good, but in my opinion overpriced once you consider other similar restaurants in the city.
