We went for our Anniversary dinner. I had the porterhouse and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Everything was very well done. No complaints at all. Highly recommend for nice occasions or in general. Top notch.
We really enjoy this restaurant and it’s always very consistent. Great service, friendly people. Excellent food, except for the fries. Had them on 2 occasions and once they were extremely salty and once they were undercooked and not crispy. Other than that, the salads, apps, steaks and creamy kale are delicious!
Server was great, kitchen was slow.
Atmosphere great! Food great! Service Great!
Very nice atmosphere. Excellent service. Food was very good
The menu is very basic but the food is prepared well and was delicious. The service was great.
I was disappointed with my crabcake order. It was not up to the quality I had received previously...mostly filler. The cream kale was also not of the quality expected. The service and atmosphere were great.
Soup was skimpy. Waitstaff not attentive although the support team was Value was off
We chose B & B for our 3rd marriage anniversary. It was an amazing experience. The food was extraordinary. The service was beyond reproach. I totally recommend this up state high end steakhouse establishment for special occasions as well as for entertaining business clients or even for a nice treat out on the town, especially date night.
We have been to many steak houses locally and when traveling and Black & Blue is one of our favorites! In our opinion, its the best steak and seafood house in the Capital Region. The ambiance, waitstaff and the food are always superb! We can't wait to Dine there again!
Amazing as always! Food was great, perfectly cooked and service was outstanding!
Everything was amazing, they forgot my side of crab and it had absolutely no flavor, I was shocked that they’d choose to serve plain lump crab on the side of such amazing steak and sides
Everything was delicious! Not as noisy because we came at 4:30
Solid upscale dinner experience overall. Nice airy interiors. Seemed like a lotta families with youngsters on this particular night. I've now dined here a few times, always solid. Only minor glitch was that after I asked about a glass form a specific wine, got a slight lecture that they can't have all bottles available by the glass. To which I had to remind the server they have additional wines available by glass via their Coravin system. This doesn't seem to be in the printed menu, only on their website.
Way too expensive for everything plus not a fan of a la carte
It's good food but nothing spectacular for price . I had better .for the price I expect steak melt in your mouth and king crab legs split and top shell can lift off to eat meat.
The food was delicious and fresh. The cocktails were strong in a good way and light.
My husband and I went for our anniversary and I must say it was beautiful it did not disappoint.
Good start but wait staff more interested in talking to each other. Forgot some items order. Then is came out after we were done eating. The food runner apologized but never a word from our server. Expensive so the server assumes the big tip because of the over inflated prices without really doing anything for the tip. Food was ok. Some of it was excellent and some was sub par. Overall not a good value.
Food was great; staff was just the right involvement; very comfortable
Despite the difficulties COVID-19 has caused in the restaurant industry, Black & Blue (Albany) hasn't let the problems become anything visitors notice. The team service was excellent, the food itself as superb as it always has been (I've been dining there since the day the venue debuted), and the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable. Prices are high -- that's not particularly new -- but for the quality and preparation it's worth it. (One downside: We were there with a party of four to celebrate the birthday of one of us. I made the reservation online, and in the comment box made a note of that and asked if we could get one small candle on a dessert. That request was ignored, not a smart move considering my bill -- with tax and tip -- exceeded $400.)
Excellent meal and great service!!!!
Waiters did not seem to be very proactive with our table. Not sure why.
Our dinner was amazing and the staff were very attentive. We will definitely come back
Wonderful food excellent service great atmosphere! A great place to go for a special occasion
It was For a 50th birthday, which I put in the notations, however they failed to acknowledge it. The quality definitely seemed off. Of all things, the fries had to be sent back. They came out soggy both times but didn’t wanna send them back again. The portion of the fillet seemed a bit smaller than usual considering we dine here often. Not sure if we will be back for a while
The food is good. But for the price, it should be outstanding. Don’t get me wrong it was a tasty steak. But it’s so overpriced that I was left wanting more.
Food was AMAZING. Service was fine at first, and then our serving team seemed to disappear.
Ambiance was very nice. Overpriced entrees. Ordered lobster tail & it was undercooked. Probably would not recommend due to mediocre food & high price point.
Black and Blue is back!!!! Food was wonderful and of course the service was superior. My favorite for a reason
First off, it was our anniversary and our waitress was outstanding! She made it special and she was so sweet. We started with bluepoint oysters and they were fantastic. The chopped salad was amazing. The steaks were done to perfection and I loved the gorgonzola sauce and my husband enjoyed the horseradish sauce. We ended the evening with the key lime pie which was very good, not too sweet.
Very pricey but great place to celebrate a special occasion. The food was delicious, waitstaff very professional.
great 21st birthday celebration for my son
very accommodating and friendly staff
great value for high quality dinner!
Food was very good but disappointed no Alaskan King Crab, had filet & lobster but always go here for crab.
Restaurant was very busy & everyone was doing their best to keep up.
We had an early reservation, seated promptly by very friendly staff. Our server Mary was delightful, she was training a new server, he was very friendly. Both masked, but the trainee wore his mask under his nose .....
It was very loud, and it was very hard to hear Mary as she went over things with us, plus w the mask, anyway, not her fault. She did her best for sure!
We started w/ some wine and a cocktail. I had the Black and Blue Cabernet from Argentina, it was perfect. Hubby had the house special Manhattan, enjoyed but the drink didn't fill the martini glass enough, kinda skimpy. I tried the She-Crab- and after growing up on the Chesapeake bay, I'm picky. It was very frothy, a nice lump of crab and crouton, but just not my style.
I got the 7oz filet it was perfect. Hubby had the strip, both cooked to our desired temperature and both chose the brandy peppercorn sauce. His strip had a fair amount of gristle, he mentioned he wish he got the filet after seeing mine. The sauce was not peppery enough for either of us. A few peppercorns found at the bottom but nothing special to it. I haven't found a restaurant yet that tops my husband's brandy/shallot/peppercorn sauce but theirs was tasty and I finished it all :)
We also got the hash browns. OMG these were a-mazing. The order has 3 so we took one home and I had it for breakfast. Cheesy, soft almost mashed potato inside, outside so crunchy! A highlight!
I remember when our plates were removed, and I noted the place mats were messy, tattered corners, looked quite old and used. The steak knives were not very sharp, but in their defense, they didn't need to be- the steaks were super tender.
Overall, we were very happy with our meal and we will be back. Next time, the 10oz filet for both of us, a bottle of the Argentinian cab, and will try the scalloped or the mashed taters. And I'll ask for some pepper, none on table.
The support staff was excellent as well. Thank you!!!
We like the new items on the menu. The new chef did a great job on adding new items.
We were disappointed with our meal. After ordering our meal we found out that their were a number of specials to choose from. Our server never mentioned them. We paid over $50 for each of our steaks expecting an amazing flavor. That didn't happen. We've had better steaks at Delmonicos/Texas Roadhouse. Side dishes were fine.Maybe they just forgot to add spices.
