We sat down, very excited to be there as the venue was really cute. However, the first hiccup came when we had to wait 40 minutes for our drinks. We had ordered virgin pinacoladas but they came with strawberry so that was a bit of a shock. They assured us that was just how they make it. We accepted it and waited for our entre. We checked on the baked brie a few times but it was another 20 minutes before it arrived, so they offered it on the house. Finally, our mains came out shortly after we had finished our entre. They were simple but good. I ate the beef ribs and mash, while my cousin had the penne alla vodka. I think this place has potential, but they do really need to work on the service.

Perfect date night, with 4 course and paired wines for 3 of the courses. Started with raw beef caparccio and prosecco, then beetroot salad, 3 cheese croquettes and pinot noir, barramundi for main with pinot grigo. A table outside overlooked the lake and black swans made for a beautiful evening. Lovely food and attentive service. Thank you

Not many diners at the restaurant (Friday night) so it lacked an energy. I had the gnocchi which I liked. My friend had the seafood bouillabaisse and the sauce tasted like Heinz tomato soup. Very ordinary. A disappointing experience overall.

The night started off good the place was really well set out and the atmosphere was really nice. We had the degustation meal. Started off really good the first 2 course were good and came out really quick. Then the 3rd course seemed to take ages which me and my wife didn't mind as we were enjoying each other's company. Then mains came out and that was where it went down hill I had the fish which was pretty good my wife had the beef ribs which came out stone cold including the sauce. Took it back in and asked the waiter to please warm it up as it was stone cold. Came back out still stone cold. Took it back told them not to worries about it and the dessert. To the waiters credit he took a large chunk off the bill. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Food was all cooked from frozen,scallops sitting in juice,cooked from frozen,polenta was deep fied,a maccas hash brown tasted better,steaks came out cold,not cooked as requested,veggies were pack frozen and cooked poorly,would not recommend eating here

It was shocking! So bad we had to leave. Nothing on the menu was available and anything that was available the waiter sugesteded not to get it as there was bad reviews.

A very pleasant restaurant overlooking the estuary in the cove in east Perth. The food was ok we had the degustation menu. It was well priced for what it was.

I ordered the calzone which was burnt to a crisp. The filling was tasty but desperately needed salt. My partner ordered the “duck a ‘lorange” which was literally baked duck with rice and a wedge of orange to be squeezed over the top? While he did say it was tasty - this is absolutely in no way what duck a ‘lorange actually is. We skipped desert because we were pretty disappointed by the end. Waiters were attentive enough and we liked the ambiance/ lack of noise. It’s a shame what’s happened to the food since our last visit a few years ago.

Garlic roast potatoes were boiled potatoes with unpeeled roasted garlic. Potatoes were still hard. Chocolate mousse was liquid -wasn’t set. Couldn’t eat it.

Food was very very average and no friendly service as I booked a table for my anniversary and the guy didn’t even acknowledge my booking and told me to sit anywhere. Steak was full of fat and won’t be returning

Had another outstanding dinner at Blackbird. We have been going there for many years to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Blackbird is always wonderful from the amazing food to the intimate tables. The staff are always lovely and attention to detail is amazing. We love that it is a small restaurant in such a beautiful location. We will be back next year!

Don’t do it! The food was terrible, cheap and tacky. The place was tiny, smelly and dirty. The decor was ugly and confusing. The chairs and tables were unstable. It was so dark you needed a phone light to read the menu. I am so beyond disappointed. The place looks nothing like the website. Save your money and go somewhere else. I’m so disappointed I wasted my money at this place.

Cosy table, took a while to have drinks ordered, waitress was wearing a puffer jacket- odd. Starters were lovey tasty and nicely preseted, steaks wer cooked as ordered , duck a little bit small, Bouillabaisse not a real one at all sadly - I'm spoilt I lived in France so more like a tomato soup with seafood in it. Deserts ok but too sweet- soufle not a Soufle mostly like a chocolate fondant very rich and again too much sugar over- rid the cocoa flavour. Steaks were served with cheese knifes. Odd but quirly and added fun to the night. All in all they tried hard to please and we have a super evening. Room for improvement for sure but well priced for that side of town- parking free after 6pm a bonus. Highlight were the croquets and dumplings.

This is a solid neighborhood restaurant. The degustation + wine paring is a great deal - 6 courses (4 apps, 1 entree, 1 dessert) with 6 wines for $120 ($75 without wine). We were able to order one then added another entree and really enjoyed sharing the appetizers. Food was freshly prepared and tasty. It doesn't have the polish of some places in the CBD but would definitely recommend it.

Little gem in the perth cbd. Took my partner for her birthday. Fantastic friendly service, very flexible with options, food was excellent. The waiter was incredibly attentive and very kind. Will definitely visit again.

Some of the actual food was well cooked but the marrying of sauces with food was all wrong. Confused indeed. The ribs were chewy and not cooked long enough and sauce was really wrong. Where was a nice Jus!. Polenta under seasoned and what was the sign with dumplings - odd. Mouse hideous. Eeek. Brownie needs icecream or a dollop of cream. So much could work for this restaurant but sauces ruined the meal in general.

A fabulous fresh "breath of air", what a surprise ! Small and personal yet not "over the top"; great menu, fine wines, and actually gets served soon enough. All up so much better than so many other spots. More particularly, one can converse! Its most pleasantly quiet. A MUST GO TO SECRET !
