Blackwall Hitch - Rehoboth
Friday & Saturday:12:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
The only reason I stayed was a server named "Isaac". Should have walked out the door when the hostesses looked liked she wanted to go Starbucks. The hostesses then gave me the wrong menu per our waitress. The waitress wasn't thrilled to be their either. I wooed her, have to she's handling me food. Need more vegetarian/vegan options? Before I could even yell check please along came Isaac, true professional.
He knows the deal. There is an art to food service. Isaac know it. It's not hard. The food a c, cocktails b, ambiance b. When there is a live band playing turn down led zeppelin. I love zeppelin but a live band gets first dibs.
It seems that staff couldn’t keep up with the level of customers and when our food arrived it had been sitting in the kitchen for quite some time.
We came for the Friday night prime rib and shrimp. The food was excellent and top quality. We will definitely be returning!
Awesome service. Prime rib was excellent. We will definitely be going again!!!
This is a restaurant I had been to in the past and had very positive things to say. Unfortunately, not this time. Upon arrival, there was a wait to get seated as the hostess was explaining the menu to someone. We were seated in the bar area which was loud. It was difficult to even hear our waiter at times. The cocktails were well made and large. The calamari appetizer was very good and also a good portion. I ordered crabcakes for an entree. Unfortunately, they were burned on the bottom and partially inedible. I pointed this out to our waiter who was appropriately apologetic. Overall, I feel the price charged was not worth it.
Excellent food & beverage -- friendly, efficient service by Yuri., et al. I am a year round resident and Blackwall Hitch is one of my go to restaurants year round,
Had a big party for a bday party and the hightop looking at towards the avenue was outstanding.
Love music was playing while we were there (530 on) in the bar which made it hard to have dinner conversation in dining room. Food was good maybe a little pricey but need to consider location.
Great food! Loved the grilled watermelon salad and the peach cobbler
Always a good spot. Becoming a fav in RB
Blackwall Hitch is a beautiful resturant! Loved the decor (was taking inspiration photos for my kitchen remodel!) the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, answering menu questions and making side swap side without complaint. The drinks are delicious but a little on the pricey side. I wouldn’t come here if I wanted more than one or two cocktails. The sides were definitely geared to special diets - intact I was wishing there was a plain coke slaw for my mom who doesn’t like spicy foods or cauliflower. Overall a great meal and a wonderful experience.
The fried green tomatoes were Awesome! I only wish they had stated in the menu that the slaw had cilantro in it. I would not have ordered it.
It was a wonderful dinner and prices were good. Was celebrating sister's retirement and she loved it.
Excellent service ! We loved our server . Excellent watermelon and feta salad
This was my husband's birthday. We were given the table I had requested, the food was exceptional, our server (whose name I don't remember, unfortunately) was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. This was our fourth visit, and we will definitely return. The only disappointment was my husband and our friends all wanted osso bucco but it had been removed from the menu. Their second choices did not disappoint, however.
Overall not a bad spot. For the to out of town vacationers looking for step up dining experience from the usual fast food tourist traps, this is a good bet. Their menu makes a big deal about their raw oyster special. So why where there no oysters to be had on my visit? Major disappointment!!!
Service was less than attentive and food was average.
The Sunday brunch was not a Sunday Jazz Brunch; not the menu advertised on Open Table. The menu advertised on the app is a complete buffet brunch with carving station, seafood buffet, and made to order omelettes. I opted for a crab meat omelet but it was not what I expected when I made the reservation. The hostess said they had jazz at happy hour. The omelette had meager crab meat and the vegetables on the side were soggy and oily.
The decor is very interesting. It's near the beach and on the Avenue so parking is challenging. I called but whomever answered the phone was not helpful about finding parking. Probably a great bar scene in the late afternoon and evening.
The server was very sweet, probably Czeck or Russian. She tried hard, was attentive, and I left her a cash tip. I assume that charged tips take longer to be paid to the server and I always assume young people at the beach town need a constant flow of cash for their school expenses.
Enjoyed the music. Walk of Shame was playing. My po’boy was po... only 3 oysters for $19. Fries 🍟 similar to McD’s and served warm, not hot. Husbands pasta dish was delicious.
This was our first time here during our Rehoboth vacation. My husband had bronzino and I had salmon and kale salad. Both were perfect. Our 6-year old son was given a big bowl of penne pasta that he loved. We also had these fun drinks made with fruit and you could add a small cup of rum. Service was quick and attentive. We would definitely suggest this restaurant.
Great food and environment... horrible service! Slow, didn’t check in, empty glasses... walked by several times and said nothing and it was very slow (many empty seats at 7:30 pm on a weeknight).
Very good menu options. We all enjoyed our entrees. The ingredients were very fresh and the flavors well balanced. Same for our drinks. All were all extremely well prepared. We look forward to returning and sampling some of the other interesting menu selections.
For a boardwalk restaurant, this place was pretty good! We were eating fairly early, 6 pm. We were seated immediately . The waitress was very accommodating. She brought water and bread immediately, which was very good. We ordered drinks & appetizers. They also came in a timely manner. We were half way through our salads, when out-came our entrees!! So, we were not pleased with that.
The food was very good. So I would say besides feelings rushed, overall, it was a good dining experience. The watermelon salad and shrimp and grits were very good!
The steak was over cooked, no flavor- first time we were disappointed here.
We came here based on a friend's recommendation and were very pleased. Because of the difficult parking situation in Rehoboth we had made a 7 pm reservation but ended up arriving 30 minutes early. The staff was very accommodating and got us seated immediately. The food was quite good, the portions were generous and given the resort nature of Rehoboth I thought the pricing was very reasonable. All in all it was a very positive experience and we plan on dining here again on our next visit to Rehoboth Beach.
My steak was cooked well, but not seasoned very much and kind of bland. Same with the fish my wife had. Salads and appetizers were good. The french fries side dish was kind of cold. Drinks and desserts were good.
Everything was very salty. It became overwhelming. Service was slow. Music was loud even though it was scheduled to end when we arrived. The specialty lemonade was a bucket of sugar. The theme appears to be more is better, except for service.
We’ve been to the RB location twice and both times service was beyond slow. Even with a reservation we waited 20 minutes to be seated then another 12 before a server greeted us. And it wasn’t even busy while we were there.
Food was very good. We had a reservation and were seated immediately even though there was a wait without a reservation. My drink did come in a cracked glass and I cut my lip. The server apologized and replaced it immediately. I was sort of surprised that the drink wasn’t comped or that the Manager at least didn’t stop over to acknowledge but that was the only hiccup. Overall, we enjoyed the evening.
French Fry Flight a little lame, should make housemate fries
Service was okay, but not great. Food has gone downhill. Overloaded with kids. Not a kid place.
Food was amazing
Air condition wasn't working and it was very hot inside
Great menu, cool atmosphere, food had beautiful presentation. We had a question on how the fabulous brussell sprouts had been prepared, and the waitress actually went and got the chef to come talk to us. We would definitely go back again!
We have dined here several times and the service is always the downfall. They don’t seat promptly even when you have a reservation, and the waitstaff have too many tables so they are inattentive. The food is good but nothing to die for.
Great food but the seating is a little too close. No room for moving and conversations would get blended with neighbors
Food was good, music was a little too loud, heavy on the reverb, and it was a little hot in the restaurant
The positive, they took us immediately back to our table. It smelled like old wet rags. The AC vent was dripping from ceiling above. It took at least 20 minutes to get more drinks after having to flag down the waitress. The bartender with long scruffy hair touched his hair a few times without washing hands. The oyster po boy came out cold. On top of that the oysters(6) were the size of nickels. Everyone’s fries were cold. The California burger ordered medium rare came out medium well. It had no avocados on it but did have carmelized onions? Needless to say we were(party of 8) were disappointed. We will not be back.
Waiter was forgetful, not focused and continually trying to be funny instead of just providing quality service. Noticed other wait staff took their job very seriously. He diminished what could have been a nice meal. Other patrons shared the same opinion to me.
The food was not as good as it was last summer
We had various people wait on us throughout the evening rather than one dedicated person, which made it tricky when something wasn't right or we needed something extra, etc. The food was so so. Oysters were brought out to the table with no verbal indication of which oysters were what and when we waited for the person to come back and tell us, nobody showed. So we just ate them not knowing which were which. The crabcake sandwich which was touted to be accompanied by lettuce and "sliced beefsteak tomato" was okay. The sliced beefsteak tomato was a pale pink color and questionable in size. Disappointing when you like tomatoes as much as you like crabcakes. I got a gin and tonic toward the end of the evening thinking you can't really go wrong with a standard drink. But lo and behold, whatever house gin they were using was VERY specific. Not my cup of tea. Or gin, should I say.
Overall, a surprising lack of attention to things. And coupled with the price of the experience, I would choose not to dine here again.
The pro of the evening - we had requested a seat by the bar so we could see the Nats game in progress. They made a special move to do that for us. It was appreciated.
