   Loved the food, grateful for the fact there are several vegetarian options (not sure how vegans would fare). I didn't love our server unfortunately, very MIA most of the night, not very friendly (possibly my perception because I feel English may not have been her first language). But she was impossible to flag down and didn't really come to check on us. Also very weirded out by the "Who's your Caddy" cocktail, it comes with a golfball that cost extra? But we weren't made aware before ordering. It's written in small print only in the menu, not on the little advertisement for it printed on the table. Feels a little weird. Definitely didn't need a golf golfball... Overall, food was absolutely awesome and came out very quickly but felt like good quality. Grateful that they gave us more cheese for the Charcuterie board because we don't eat meat. Most of the drinks were great, some were... not awesome.

   The Blind Ox provided the best meal and experience on Oahu. About a 30 minute stroll from the Honolulu Zoo, we enjoyed a delicious meal off the touristy beaten path. Highly recommend the Lobster Rolls - best I've ever had - the Cesar Salad and the Spanish Octopus. The Old Fashion's upgrade to Angel's Envy whiskey were amazing! Can't wait to return on our next visit!

   We had a very unpleasant experience. We ordered a Martini, which is an aperitif (a before meal drink), and a few tapas. The tapas came before the drinks so we asked our server where the drinks were. The server went to the bar and came back to tell us that they were being made. Since we were almost halfway done with our food, we canceled the Martini order. When the server went back to the bar to tell the bartender to cancel the order, we could hear the bartender saying that the drink was ready. The waitress came back to our table to ask if we really wanted to cancel the order. We confirmed that we wanted to cancel it. The server went back to the bar and we could hear the bartender rudely saying that if we wanted to order another drink that we “would have to commit to drinking it”. This killed the vibe and we decided to leave the restaurant and go have drinks next door. The bartender was rude and didn’t care that we could hear her.

   Drinks were all too sweet. Location is between two buildings and more so feels like a tiki bar. Maybe it just wasnt the speakeasy/mixology vibe different from speakeasies in San Francisco and Lod Angeles. Missed the theme or prohibition or smiggling barrels of alcohol in the 1920's. Tokyo Night was good. A Little light for my taste, but all japanese whiskeys are less harsh. Old fashions with the mac liquer was too sweet and would have been better if it was pre-mixed. The truffle fries were good. Very crispy and great dipping sauces. No complaints for the food.

    We were told upon entering that we must complete our dinner in 2 hours. We could have been done in an hour and a half, except that our server ignored us for periods of up to 20 minutes at a time. It is a fun place. Fits the speakeasy concept. Not much of a menu if you’re looking for dinner.

    The drinks weren't as good as you'll get in other spots around Honolulu and they are silly prices, all about 5 dollars more than what they should be. They're very pretty and quite interesting but every one we tried was just not quite right, too medicinal or too sweet and not sour enough for example. The food was pretty good and we'll probably go back and try more in the future, it's all served very nicely and there are some interesting options that are unusual for Honolulu. The look of the place is pretty cool, nice ceiling, bar, decor, outdoor area. It's somewhere to go on a date maybe. But insist on splitting this bill!

    Wife and I came for date night while visiting Hawai’i. We ordered the shrimp roll, garlic fries, scotch egg, and wagyu sando to split. Every piece of food was incredible. The atmosphere was great, not too loud, but loud enough others couldn’t overhear anyone else’s conversations. Highly recommend giving this place a shot if you’re in the area. I also recommend reserving ahead of time as it’s a small place and fills up fast. 5/5 will be coming back on our next visit.

    Just for the perspective, We were placed in the private room right at the front entrance. Therefore, we never seen the inside of the restaurant or able to experience the ambiance expressed online. Other than that the experience was Great, thank you.

    This is a speakeasy establishment although the front entrance isn’t being utilized which somewhat takes away from the overall experience. Not really a place for families unless all over 21. Perfect for couples or double dates. Drinks are good although the ice cube they include in some drinks don’t leave much room for Alcohol. I’d recommend you ask for the drinks chilled. Food was fulfilling although it’s all Tapas (smaller portions designed for sharing). Food and drinks are pricey so expect a big check when you are finished. Great staff with excellent customer service.

    Sat outdoors under pretty canopies that enhanced the space. This calls itself a speakeasy… but we came for dinner.. prices did seem to be on a leading edge, the mushrooms tapas was uninteresting as to constitution or saucing… this idea needs conceptual reconstitution. Flat on the palate, mushroom choice not interesting… king oyster, wood ear, I keep hearing about Hamakua mushrooms… not found here! Please edit this dish… see photos for additional comments

    Amazing restaurant! Service was outstanding. The drink menu is extensive. The bar tenders are knowledgeable! Boo created the best drinks for us. The food was delicious. The lobster rolls and scallops were our favorite. The bourbon crème brûlée is the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back! The vibe and decor was perfect for date night with no kids.

    Everything about the Blind Ox was amazing. We sat at the bar and it truly added to the experience. The bartender, Boo (or Bu not sure), is delightful. Clearly, extremely passionate about mixing cocktails and totally sold us. Her enthusiasm made the experience and she was just wonderful. We ordered 6 different tapas and not a single one disappointed. The cocktails were also delicious and mesmerizing to watch be made. We would definitely go back again for food, drinks, and atmosphere.

    We don't really know what the food was like because we didn't stay. The venue looked fabulous on the website but was a total disappointment when we got there. The whole thing about a speakeasy is the mysterious entry but at the Blind Ox, that function was broken so we had to enter around the back through a parking lot. Disappointing. The patio was where they seated us and it looked like a back alley with plastic hedges of a sad little restaurant.

    Incredible, unique, and delicious dining experience at Blind Ox! The decor alone - from the stunning mural outside to the lifesize blindfolded ox inside to the chandeliers - is enough to bring me back time and time again. But thank god their food matched the decor! Such a variety of dishes too to make everyone happy. We ordered the blue balls (blue cheese Mac and cheese balls), the scotch eggs, the smoked octopus, the Wagyu steak, and the salmon mousse. All beautifully presented, and flavorful. And can we talk about the cocktails?!? I ordered some kind of Matcha martini with coconut foam and it was the perfect balance, not too sweet. My friend is a whiskey lover and got the whiskey flight. All in all, such a great experience and I can’t wait to come back and take more friends here!

    Drinks, food, service and ambiance was amazing! Table of 5 on a Friday night- drinks were top notch, great descriptions of flavor profiles. Food was all shared plated but everything had tons of flavor in small bites. Not too filling but enough to were you always have room for the next course. Duck prosciutto and the uni carbonara stood out the most for me. Tokyo Nights was my favorite drink of the night. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely try the bourbon crème brûlée with lava black salt. Our server was also just as excellent as the food and drinks. She really complete our experience. We will definitely be back!

    The first time we came here in 2021 we had the most amazing experience and raved about it to any and every person we knew who was planning a visit to Hawaii. This trip left a lot to be desired. TL;DR: Come for an expensive, but tasty drink and the speakeasy vibe, skip the rest. The food was just okay, though the prices have gone up exponentially. (Inflation, I get it, but the quality has gone down at the same time.) The drinks were excellent, but also twice as expensive. The service left a lot to be desired. We had a trainee and a member of the waitstaff serving us. The trainee was super nice and clearly trying. The waitstaff member was rude and even rolled eyes when a member of our party was explaining a dietary restriction and asking if a menu item could be adjusted. Poor experience. Sad, because it had a lot of potential. The pandemic must have robbed the place of good cooks and staff.

    Amazing place for food and drinks. The ambiance is great. The bartender was so knowledgeable and the drinks were amazing. The food was also very good. The presentation of all the drinks and food was memorable. Definitely recommend if you enjoy good food and drinks.
