    We’ve been to this restaurant twice. The first time for a Thanksgiving buffet. We went at 6:30 pm which was late. The last seating was 7 pm. Despite their best efforts, the food was cold and ultimately mediocre. The service was excellent. Our second visit was better. The menu selection is somewhat limited, but the duck entree was great. If you’re a guest at the hotel, the choices are limited

    Our server, Will, if I remember right, was the nicest, most competent server in recent memory. The meal was outstanding and the ambiance was fresh and pretty. Loved our evening and would go back whether or not we were staying in the hotel.

    Even cheap restaurants note Gluten Free or Vegan on the cards at buffets...for $125 each I expected that given one in our party has Celiac and the other an egg and cow's milk allergy...Food was pretty good, not great. Desserts looked beautiful but most missed the mark. Short ribs and shrimp were superb. Our daughter was afraid to eat anything despite the server kindly checking w/the chef on various items, but there were just too many to have him constantly running back and forth. Shame on you Blind Salamander for NOT being with the times.

    Our first time at Blind Salamander for Thanksgiving brunch, but will not be our last. Food was delicious, lovely restaurant, relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Very enjoyable.

    When I want to splurge, this is my go to restaurant. The service is excellent and you feel like royalty, and the seafood is outstanding. The view is gorgeous as well.

    My husband and I had an excellent meal here on the patio! The burrata was fantastic as was my salmon! Our sides were the roasted cauliflower and Mac-n-cheese which were delicious! And we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the pumpkin dessert! Our server was amazing as was the ambience!

    Filet Mignon arrived cold and looked like a thin piece of shoe leather. They were using bus people, not waiters/waitresses, to deliver food. I sent my filet back and they did it right the 2nd time but overall the experience was not what I expected from a restaurant that charges such high prices. Try Bob’s Chop House instead. Bob’s is in the same facility and was great.

    Service was excellent and the martinis were spot on. Delicious oysters on the half shell. The filet mignon is not a traditional presentation...it's slices off a beef tenderloin. Not what I expected, but really good. I added the peppercorn sauce and the combination was delicious. We split the Caesar salad and it was one of the best we've ever had. The halibut was a real disappointment. Overcooked, dry and mushy. Shocking fail given the excellent delivery of everything else. We've been to this restaurant several times and will go again, but surprised at the disappointing delivery of a straightforward fish dish by a restaurant at this price point.

    The rolls were definitely pre-made from a bag- they looked like cafeteria rolls. Not good. The shrimp cocktail was awful- the shrimp were over cooked and tough and had no taste at all. The Tom Kai soup was good but they only gave us 1/3 of a bowl. The redfish dish was good but surprisingly spicy. The highlight of the meal was the crab Mac and cheese. The waitress asked how everything was early in the meal and my husband and I just said “Eh.” And she literally walked off! We told the manager about the soup and he tried to defend how much was in the bowl. We wish we had gone next door to Bob’s.

    Exceeded all expectations! Beet salad was the best I’ve ever had and I’m a beet salad snob. Also, the halibut was beyond tasty and the cauliflower fried rice, again, was the best I’ve ever had. Server was the sweetest and she made my birthday so special! We go out to eat quite a bit and this place was such a treat! Pleasantly surprised!

    Our server was Amazing! He was so friendly and engaging. He brought us a complimentary appetizer which was so kind. I believe his name is William. Highly recommend visiting the restaurant and ask for his section. He made it a great experience for us.

    Check your bill before paying. A 20% service charge is included. Waiter did not tell us. It was dark and late and husband didn’t check the bill and he added 20%. Waiter should have mentioned it. Food was good but not exceptional for the price.

    This is a special restaurant for special occasions. The chef clearly knows his stuff! I was in seafood heaven. The quality was exceptional. The service was extremely professional. I loved it and will hopefully return on my next visit to Austin.

    We started with the smoked salmon dip before then getting the King Salmon and Halibut entrees and finished with the death by chocolate dessert. I cannot recommend the Blind Salamander enough. It was our best meal of our trip.

    This restaurant has a rather limited menu. Risotto was so-so, redfish was a little over cooked and the tomahawk steak was charred to the point of burnt on the outside. The two desserts we had were disappointing. We had been here in 2022 and thought enough of it to come back with friends but this time was a disappointment.

    Kitchen and waiter had a very hard time accommodation a dairy free diet. The customer service and knowledge of menu options/substitutions was just not there, and I felt awkward.

    Oysters on the half shell were amazingly fresh and delicious. My halibut was cooked perfectly, as was my husband's filet. Will, our server, was so charming! He helped make our anniversary dinner special. And dessert? The lemon meringue was the perfect refreshing end to a fabulous meal.

    We were in town staying at the Omni for a weekend trip with friends. While we love the resort this restaurant fell very short of expectations. First, our waitress took quite a while to greet us and when she did she was less than personable or helpful. A table one over had a different server who was full of personality, telling them about specials, helping pick out entrees, suggesting wines, etc. Ours was basically, “what do you want”. No personality whatsoever. Fair enough, not everyone is outgoing. We ordered the redfish, tuna tartare, 2 filets and crab Mac and cheese. When the filets were delivered, it was 2 pieces of tenderloin, not a filet, presented like a prime rib or medallions of tenderloin. Most shocking, this $54 entree was to come with a twice baked potato and tomato/ herb garnish. When they served it, there was a small bowl of cold, flavorless French fries in the place of the twice baked potato with a “we ran out of twice baked potatoes, so you get fries”. A very small order of cold, sad French fries. No, “hey, sorry guys we ran out of potatoes, what other side can I offer you?” Nothing, just here is your cold fries, deal with it. I assume the crab Mac and Cheese was supposed to have crab in it, but there was maybe 2 pieces of crab. Our waitress did not return to our table after entrees were delivered to ask if they were prepared correctly. So, we had to track down another server to get help because one of the steaks ordered medium was served very rare and had to be sent back. No manager stopped by to apologize for the errors even though he walked past many times. Needless to say, we will not be returning. This was an expensive disappointment.

    I would come here everytime I come back to Austin! Wow! Wvcennlt food and great views on the patio. Complimentary valet is a plus. I had the salmon side and chocolate cake and both were 5 star!!
