BLOCK ONE Restaurant at 50th Parallel Winery
represents the first vineyard planted in 2009 and is very special to
Proprietors Sheri-Lee and Curtis. “It taught us to be farmers; to be
ONE with the land. There are things we will never experience again.
That vineyard block represents the past – the starting point, getting our
hands dirty, all the ‘firsts’ of our business”. BLOCK ONE also
represents the future as this vineyard block now produces some of the
estate’s finest fruit for our international award-winning wines. Guests
will be amazed by the seating area for the outdoor portion of the
restaurant. You are covered by an engineering wonder above in a oneof-
a-kind cantilever that is already drawing attention in the worlds
architectural community. The year-round restaurant moves to an
equally impressive indoor space during inclement days and in the
new restaurant just opened in May 2018. Probably some of the best food I have had in the Okanagan. A little bit of a drive and out of the way but well worth it. I would highly recommend anything on the menu and trying this restaurant. You wont be disappointed!!!!
This was our third time at Block One, but our first dinner experience. We requested Michael to be our server as he is so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The service and support he gives to the wonderful food only make this experience even more spectacular. If we could rate higher than outstanding, we would! Exquisite food! Incredible atmosphere, and the wine. Don't forget the wine!
Ambiounce, food and service was great! I wouldn’t recommend for a casual meal but it’s perfect for a date, anniversary, adult setting. Meals were pricey but delicious!!
Wife and I went for our 10yr anniversary dinner, excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere, would like to come back in the summer for the outdoor seating area. Server was attentive and knowledgeable.
Notified them the reservation was for an anniversary dinner, they made up the table a little extra special and the chef had a surprise appy for us.
Perfect holiday menu on right now - 3 courses for $55. Add in wine pairings for an additional $20. Service and food was excellent.
It’s always great food, I love it there. I bring all my guests for either lunch or dinner
This was the culinary highlight of our 4-day trip out to the Kelowna region. The food was great...the music was perfect (Slow cover tunes!!!)...the service was excellent.... and the ambiance and venue was amazing. We will definitely be back.
First time since the outdoor patio has been closed for the season and we weren't disappointed! Same great food and fantastic service inside!!
Restaurant was too dark, couldn't read the menu properly and a little too noisy.
We had a great afternoon as always at the winery and have always enjoyed the food. Service along with our server was great!! However we had the Mac and cheese and sorry to say we were very disappointed as it was very dry and tasteless. We did not say anything at the time as the service on the other hand made up the difference.
Thanks for taking good care of us!
Best meal ever! Service was outstanding, food was creative, unique and perfectly executed to please any palate, gluten free and vegetarians as well as my meat eating husband!! Their wine is just the perfect pairing with all that goodness. We will be back!
The papadelle pasta meal was not good at all. It's was very bland and the noodles were mushy! A dinner for four person Friday night, the steal my partner had was excellent and the chicken was super! But both of our meals which was the papadelle pasta were not good. My friends husband didn't want to send his back so he did eat it. But didn't enjoy it like the other means at the table.
Our wait felt terrible and we didn't and weren't expecting him to send over a bottle of wine to take home with and to apologize.. that was Avery nice gesture! Thank you!

My wife and I decided to give the 50th Pararllel Winery (Block One) a shot as a change to our unusual fine dining spot at Quails Gate (Old Vines) in West Kelowna. Overall the places are very similar. The quality of the food, the waiters (engaging, knowledgeable, etc.), location (scenery, ambience, etc.) are more or less on par with each other (only deterrent wth Block One is they are bit more ‘out of the way’ for most people coming from Kelowna or West Kelowna).
One thing that was a bit disappointing (for us) was we found Block One was a bit to loud, and some of the patrons were a bit loud, and perhaps a bit tipsy, which we thought detracted from the overall experience one expects from a restaurant of this caliber; the accustic of the place probably didn’t help with the noise.
Overall, we found Quails Gate Old Vines a bit more traditional and quiet than Block One; as a couple we enjoy chatting over dinner and a glass of wine, and don’t want to compete with surrounding noise or music. This being said, the atmosphere and ambiance is much more contemporary at Block One, which some might find appealing.
The staff we found to be polite, friendly and engaging. The food was fabulous; terrific pairings, and cooked to perfection. The Reisling we had with dinner was exceptional, and recommended.
Liked this place a lot and pretty sure that I am going there again.
Not only the restaurant itself is very good the road to it also is very scenic and beautiful .
I wish they had more vibrant menu though.
Waitress was very nice. And bar manager did his job very well. Thank you for the experience.
Beautiful, off the beaten track location. Fantastic service, good food and great wine produced on site. Prices on the high side but worth it. We will definitely return and will recommend to our friends .
View and food good but service was EXCELLENT which is why we go back.
We celebrated my birthday and started off with very nicely presented carcuterie on an artisan board including regional products. The glazed Haida Gwaii Halibut was perfectly prepared, the Pinot Gris I chose to go with it is a delightfully elegant wine; enjoyed every sip. Our waitress was very knowledgeable regarding food and wine. A nice touch was being offered to taste the wine beforehand.
Nicely designed modern dining room and washrooms, great location by the lake.
Went for their first brunch ever, can't give it 4.5 🌟 but that is what I feel it rates. If you love Mission Hill food, you will love this lovely new find.
Never experienced such awful service. The waitress tossed the receipt on the table when we told her we just wanted to have an appetizer. Won't come back.
We were excited to finally try Block One after seeing it being under construction during our last two visits. It did not disappoint! Worth the wait for sure!!
Beautiful location and views. Wine and food were excellent, as was the service. A bit noisy, as it's one large, very open room, but the atmosphere was fun and lively. Would go again.
Good food, great wine, great service.
I was saddened by my experience at this restaurant. It was recommended by several people as "fabulous". I am not sure if you need to go in the summer and sit on the patio or perhaps go for dinner instead of lunch, but it was disappointing. There service was great, but the food was very very average. Under seasoned and bland.
The wine is great though. Maybe I will give it another try when the patio is open. I always give restaurants a second chance when the service is good. Perhaps it was on off day in the kitchen!
My husband and I have dined here twice, once for lunch and recently for diner. Both experiences were exceptional from service to food and of course the wine. The restaurant has a wonderful view of Okanagan Lake and surrounding orchard. We also did a wine tasting before our lunch and that was splendid. The food on both occasions were delicious and creative. We can’t wait to try out their patio in the summer as well. I highly recommend you stop in and treat yourself to this amazing restaurant.
It is a beautiful building and locale however it’s very difficult to carryon a conversation because it is so noisy...almost to the point of being uncomfortable. The food was ok and the presentation was amazing but our halibut entree’s were over cooked and somewhat dry. Prices were high considering the quality of the food but we are willing to try it again in the future.
Great food and service. James and Chef Kai always take great care of us. We've been here several times now . . . . Summer is obviously better ambiance though when their outdoor patio is all opened up!
This restaurant, while absolutely beautiful inside and out, is priced way too high for the value and quality of the food and wine.
We will not be returning.
Great food and service. Beautiful lay out. All staff was overly accommodating.
Always great food and great wine!!! The food here is absolutely amazing and cooked with locally sourced ingredients.
The wine was good but the service was slow, had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. The food is very over priced for the quality. Not a fan of the outdoor furniture for a more expensive menu would expect nicer furniture To make it cozier, the room echos so very loud and unpleasant in having conversation.
Amazing dinner with exceptional service. The menu was great, wine pairings were perfect and the atmosphere is most enjoyable. Alex, our server was the best!!! Great night out with delicious food.
Great 50 th and 80 th Birthday
Just an unfortunate series of events. Booked week plus in advance but was called 1230 on day of to say will be outdoors. Didn’t say it was because of large function that took over the inside. Dinner took over 1.5 hrs for entrees, many excuses, eventual apology, meals were ok but pasta was stuck together and not perfect. Chilly location, zero ambience except for view behind tent walls, service that didn’t go a mile let alone the extra mile. Put a damper on our holiday weekend.
Amazing!!! Best meal in the Okanagan! We were there the first evening of the new fall menu and it did not disapo!
I’ve been to Block one on two separate special occasions and it did not disappoint. It is not an inexpensive meal but the food is worth it. It is well prepared and properly portioned and most important it’s delicious. The views and wine also make it worth the drive.
Terrible acoustics. There was a wedding next door and you had to shout at each other to have a conversation and still you couldn't hear each other. We didn't stay because it was so unenjoyable. Too bad because we had heard such great things about this restaurant. Don't go if there is a wedding or event next door!
My husband and I enjoyed our first visit back after having our wedding at 50th Parallel. Great memories and good food with thoughtful service and a picturesque modern setting.
Stopped in and had a great meal paired with an enjoyable wine offering from their Vineyard. No complaints here.
I always love eating at Block One. The food is always amazing. We will bring our next bunch of company to have either lunch or dinner❤️
