Blue Crab Seafood House - Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA
Our lounge offers a casual atmosphere to enjoy drinks and casual dining.
We always make a point of eating at Blue Crab when we are in Victoria. The food is amazing and the view is breathtaking. I would recommend it if you are looking for truly mouthwatering food.
Very good seafood and perfect service. The rooms are comfortable but not very warm
Yes, but I would recommend to hedge their purchases.
Most beautiful sunset view in Victoria! We celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful window table. Food was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. Overall, one of my favourites to host guests from out of province to show off our gorgeous city and inner harbour.
We saved Blue Crab for our last decadent dinner in Victoria. The view was beautiful, the food was spectacular and Katherine’s service was impeccable! She thoroughly knew each drink and menu item and served us with her infectious smile. I would highly recommend Blue Crab to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a wonderful dining experience!
We went for dinner for my Birthday , we were visiting Victoria from Edmonton . Food , view and ambiance were nice . I had the mixed crab plate , 68$ for the portion seemed a bit high, and the side portion , root veg and potatoes were very small . They didn’t acknowledge the Birthday at all . Considering the price , and the fact that we both had expensive meals and drinks , s a small acknowledgement would have been nice.
Food was average at best and so was service - manager was rude - there are better restaurants in Victoria
Our server must have been having a challenging shift. He was abrupt, curt and impatient. We almost had to beg him to take our first drink order. The first 20 minutes at our table were insulting but after we had our cocktail order in and then meal order and a bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay he settled in and became more kind. The food was great. On par with all of the high end restaurants We have enjoyed in Victoria. Yes,
For our wedding anniversary, my wife and I had a enjoyable dining experience. The service was prompt and Katherine our server was kind and made pleasant conversation. The food was thoroughly enjoyable and reasonable priced for quality was quite good. I have and will continue to recommended the restaurant to friends and will continue to count the Blue Crab as not only one of my favourite seafood restaurants, but restaurants. Good show.
My daughter and I enjoyed our dinner very much. Spectacular view of the Sunset and Harbour. Thank you so much, we hope to return on day.
Beautiful location in the inner harbour with panoramic views and great seafood. Would definitely recommend.
food was not good, no flavor . likely will not return .
We are from Edmonton, Alberta and found out about Blue Crab because I listen to Ocean 98.5. I loved it, it was fantastic. We went early on a Monday so the noise level was just right for us (we don't like yelling at our guests during dinner). They were able to accommodate my 11 year old son as well which I really appreciated. Thank you to Ocean 98.5!
Our third or fourth time to the restaurant. We went for the seafood platter and it was great. Try to sit by the windows if possible to watch the activity on the harbour at night. Our server was very helpful and recommended a great wine to pair with our dinner. We will definitely be back in the future.
Great view, good service, food was good but not anything outstanding. Halibut dish was quite good. Cioppino was just ok.
The food is very good. Service is excellent. Location is amazing with wonderful views of the harbour activity. The Blue Crab is well known and has a good reputation which results in often full restaurant by 7pm so if you prefer a little quieter than go earlier.
The views are lovely, the service is good and the food is tasty!
The Hostess could not handle a stressful situation al as it was happening. She was on the phone. I asked her for a Chair he looked at me and I asked her for a chair her reply was that will be ready shortly and told the person on the phone that she will have call them back. I asked for a chair and she said there as one here indicting one to her left. I said NO BRING ME A CHAR NOW. It went down hill from there till we received our food. The food was excellent. hen we finished dinner and desert there was a busboy at our table cleaning it, I asked if the hotel had a wheelchair that I could use to help the wife out to Regent limousine who was waiting for us within 3 minutes he had brought the wheelchair and the machine to process the money to them I did a 18% tip for the busboy> both the waiter and the hostess stood there and did nothing.
Great service, great food. My wife and I would definitely go back again.
The best seafood restaurant in Victoria. Great staff, wonderful harbor views.
Very loud beautiful view food was excellent except for a lemon drop - undrinkable
Took my mom and dad here for Father’s Day. We really enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent and the service was really good.
The service was terrible today. Our server came by as soon as we sat down to take our food order without even asking what we wanted to drink. We asked to order drinks as we were waiting for one more guest. Once our guest arrived, again she came back asking if we were ready to order. No acknowledgement that our new guest would probably need time and didn’t even ask her if she wanted a drink. It took her three visits to drop off our coffees. First the coffee, then the cream and sugar and finally 1 spoon for three guests. We ordered an appetizer and when it came she dropped off the food and was about to walk away so I had to ask for cutlery. Our mains came out and one guest was away in the washroom, she asked if she could bring pepper. I had to ask her to come back and check with the them. She quality checked at our initial bites and never again. My mother’s soup was extremely salty and she didn’t eat it. I told our server when she took the food away but no acknowledgement that my mother basically didn’t get a side with her meal. Finally, she brought the bill with the machine right away. No opportunity to review the bill. After we paid, I realized she charged me for halibut when I ordered the cod. I didn’t even bother saying anything because she forgot to ring in the coffee but ridiculous that she wants to just up-sell the fish and chips.
Terrible experience. For the type of restaurant this is supposed to be, this level of service is very disappointing.
Everything was fabulous as usual. Great food, great service, great view!
Excellent food and service - well worth what you pay. Beautiful view of the harbour and located along a nice pathway along the water
Not great. Upon arrival, greeting was very pleasant, but it went downhill from there. Very limited selection of respectable red wines; minimal selection of oysters for a seafood restaurant; steak was poorly cooked and lobster was over cooked. Following a $400 dinner (2) an extremely limited choice of single malts - of which I was fortunate to receive just enough of a poor to nose what I had actually ordered - very poor decision not to at least give it a reasonable amount beyond a precise one ounce - only in Canada! Overall - too bad it wasn’t a more pleasurable experience. As a result, not likely to go back again. This was not our first time in the restaurant. Dessert was good.
Although the food we ordered was good, it didn't make up for the service, the condition of the decor nor the value. From the start, the waiter directed most of his attention toward my husband (eg. asking questions, serving first) . After our meal, I asked the waiter if the restaurant had any non-dairy milk or cream such as almond or soy milk because I'm lactose intolerant and would have liked an americano coffee after dinner. He completely forgot, finally coming over to ask if we wanted anything else. I was so unimpressed, I just wanted to leave by then.
I had never been to the Blue Crab before, but looked at the website and menu online beforehand and was expecting an all around quality restaurant. While the view was lovely, the walls and cabinetry looked scratched and worn. The pieces of art on the walls were for sale with the price scrawled on sticky labels using a black felt sharpie, which were stuck to the walls beside the art. This folksy touch didn't quite mesh with the intended higher end look. I am sorry but we won't be going back.
Disappointed with our overall experience. Sadly, the restaurant is run down & tired. We won’t be back. It had been a couple of years since our last visit for a special occasion & we recalled the fabulous food, service and view. On this visit, our food was excellent but the service really missed the mark. Considering we arrived just before lunch peak, the restaurant didn’t appear to be ready for guests. In hindsight, that was a warning sign. After being seated, it was a long time before anyone came by to provide a menu or check on drinks.
The restaurant has one of the best views of the Harbour in the city. It deserves some much needed reinvestment and a service tune up. You might also consider adding some outdoor seating.
The Blue Crab has the optimum view of the Victoria Inner Harbour and is a great place to go to relax, have a drink and appies. Our most recent visit , however, was for dinner and although we enjoyed the meal the value for money wasn't there. I ordered the halibut ($43 as a main) and expected a thick filet but found that it was a small piece of pan fried halibut surrounded by a plateful of lettuce and chickpeas. Although tasty, it certainly did not warrant the price. The service was excellent and the ambience was good for a fine dining restaurant hence the 4 star overall rating.
Great menu and fresh seafood. Interesting cocktail menu!! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the blue crab.
Crab tasteless and overpriced.
Lovely table by the window, delicious meal and great service to celebrate my daughter’s 17th Birthday.
Service was excellent. We had a wonderful time there. The Dungeness crab was absolutely delicious Price was reasonable given the setting, service and presentation I would definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family should they be visiting Victoria
The recommendation from the waiter on which crab to get was spot on and a great choice, great view of the water.
The waitress was very nice and the food was very good! The view was amazing!
The best of all service, ambience, and the most exquisite food. We had the best Mother's Day dinner ever.
I have lunched many times at the Blue Crab and have never been disappointed. It is a favorite of mine.
The food was an hour coming, the salad was a very sorry excuse for salad, the salmon was overcooked, the room was extremely noisy. Our waiter did his best, but he was scuppered by what was happening in the kitchen . We were seated near a large group of men and the noise level made it difficult for us to talk across our table for two. It was one of the least enjoyable meals I have had and certainly not worth the money.
Lovely harbour view restaurant. Excellent food and service.
Too noisy an atmosphere, though inner harbourside scenery was excellent. Price point far too high. Unfortunately, a soup starter arrived lukewarm, though was quickly replaced by a freshly made, piping hot bowl in very short order.
