BluFish Japanese Restaurant

We had a really good time. Food was amazing, the fish were fresh. We had the chef's table and it was amazing.

Great atmosphere, some of the rolls we ordered were overpriced but excellent food

Their tuna carpaccio is phenomenal. Such a great deal from their seaweed salad. Miso soup is to die for. Furthermore, their fish is very fresh, and I highly recommend it!

Best sushi in Winnipeg , great quality , fresh seafood , menu has pictures of every item so you can see what you’re ordering for those not familiar with certain items , great central location , nice service 👍👍

The food was outstanding and really great service.

We were seated right by the door and watched several Skype drivers call me and go. The food tasted good but the rolls were a bit clunky and hard to eat/not up to BluFish usual standards as far as I’m concerned.

The best sushi place in the city! Service is on point and the food is always delicious! Fresh fish and the waitresses are always recommending new rolls to try. Always a great experience!

Blue fish is my fav japanese restau... just that the server didnt wipe the table properly..its wet and need to wipe it myself.. he drop also one of our shrimp tempura in the table and leave to us to clean up.. we were also waited a bit to get the order even if there’s not much people due to pandemic..
Overall, i still want to go back bec i like japanese food.

Not the fine quality sushi we had hoped for based on their website.

Tempura was a heavy battered disappointment. Other house maki were only average, wasabi barely existed except for a foamy star shaped extrusion.
Is there sweetener in the sushi rice? An odd aftertaste...
Couldn’t have had better attention as there were no other customers in the restaurant- seemingly a popular neighbourhood takeout restaurant.

We had never been to BluFish, but our first experience was fabulous. The sashimi was fresh and abundant. Their gyoza is perhaps the best in Winnipeg and the BluFish scallops are highly recommended. Amazing.

Food was great. I got there about 7:00 PM with most of the diners having already been there. my only complaint was that when I got there, a number of tables had dirty plates. it was very unappetizing.

t was okay I enjoy their Food and preparation. Quite consistent.

We had a reservation at 6:00 pm but were not seated until 6:35. Staff apologised, the restaurant was full to capacity so they let us pre-order and our food was served at 6:45 pm. However, we had to wait in the crowded entry way sipping our wine for 35 minutes! Unfortunately, we had to leave by 7:00 pm as we had tickets to the Ballet. There was another couple there in the same situation who waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The food was totally amazing and would have been worth it if we were not so rushed due to performance time. They gave us 10% off our bill due to the wait. SO I recommend leaving a lot of time to eat there as making a reservation proved to be unreliable.

The food was great - the BluFish scallops were AMAZING and all the fish was super fresh and beautifully prepared. Thank you to the chefs and to our fabulous server for making this a great mid-week experience!

Bluefish is an outstanding Japanese restaurant, providing delicious sushi and other traditional Japanese dishes, as well as exciting contemporary offerings. Service is excellent, and so is value. If you're looking for a great place to go before seeing a show or concert in the Exchange District, or for a business lunch, Bluefish is ideal.

This is the best sushi I've had since coming to Winnipeg 2 1/2 years ago. The server was friendly, attentive and prompt. The quality of the fish was superb. The grilled cuttlefish was one of the best I've ever had! I highly recommend the Unagi Don and the lobster roll was also very good.
