The server forgot to ring in my breakfast. By the time I got it my family was done eating. They had brought me a side of scrambled eggs instead which I assume was what the server rang in by accident instead of my eggs benedict. The server did make a mistake but she was very nice. But then the manager came over because I asked the server to take off the side of scrambled eggs I didn't order and gave us a really hard time. His name was Tim and he was very rude. In fact I don't know if anyone has ever been so rude. I took one bite out of the mistake eggs while I was waiting for my breakfast that never came and he said "well you ate them didn't you?" Unbelievably rude and ruined our entire experience.
Expanded menu of simpler items would go a long way
The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and hard working. I wished it would have stayed open for New Year's, but it closed at 11:30. I had breakfast which I enjoyed and dinner (pre-fixe) for NYE. It was delicious and just enough without being too filling. A bit expensive but it is a hotel restaurant.
New Years Eve
New Years Eve dinner was a truly enjoyable experience. The food was great and the meal well paced. Very attentive staff. Simply a great place to celebrate New Years Eve.
We arrived for our reservation and it took a hostess 15 minutes to check us in. We sat at the bar to wait to be seated and the hostess forgot about us. We eventually went back up (we were there for 30 minutes) and were finally seated. We waited another 30 minutes at the table and no waitress ever stopped by the table. No water bread, menus or anything. There were 5 other tables who were seated and received no service. We decided to cut our losses and leave after spending an hour at the Boathouse and receiving absolutely no service at all. Until they figure out their staffing issues, I would not recommend going.
Way understaffed. Waited forever for everything.
Supposedly short staffed but sat every table. Told we would not be able to sit for 25 mins after our reserved time. Manager would not come out to address the situation. Watched as table after table had long waits for service and food. Some walked out. Fried chicken sandwich was inedible
The food was horrible. The toast was as hard as a hockey puck and they somehow managed to ruin bacon. Also, I’ve never had breakfast at a restaurant where they only served you 1 piece of toast. None of us finished our meals (American breakfast x2 and eggs Benedict). The “breakfast potatoes” were literally French fries chopped up, and they didn’t even season them. Our bill was $70 for some of the worst food we’ve ever had. We will never go back! On top of this, our server seemed annoyed to be serving us, never checked on our table (I had to call him over for a refill and to run our cc), and he was wearing his mask below his nose the entire time.
Excellent food for Christmas dinner! Would go again
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear you had a wonderful Christmas dinner at Boathouse and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!
Tod was the best waiter!!! Really made this a memorable experience for my wife and I!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are so happy to hear Tod created a memorable dining experience for you and your wife. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.
When we sat we were told that the menu was unavailable due to holiday price fix menu. When we expressed our disappointment she came back and advised that she was mistaken and most of it in fact was available. Our server was incapable of keeping the mask over her face. My daughter’s salmon came out basically raw. The worst was when we ordered vanilla ice cream for dessert and notified the server of a nut allergy. We got some flavor with nuts served to us!
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us, Erica. We sincerely apologize for the situation you describe while dining with us over the holidays. Our hope is to provide exceptional service and it's clear we fell short during your visit. I have shared your feedback with our staff and we are proactively taking steps to ensure this does not happen again. I hope you can join us again in the future for a 5-star meal that I know we're capable of providing.
Our bartender Lorie was and always has been amazing and has become a friend. The servers were also attentive and the food was really good. The decor is really nice and has an ADK feel with an industrial flare to it.The lake is right there and the views are perfect. No more needs to be said.
We had a very nice experience at the Boathouse Saranac Lake Pub last evening. Our waitress,Trina, was super helpful and efficient. When we arrived, there was a large group of under 30’s having a great time. Sure, they were boisterous but certainly understandable for a large group of friends out on a weekend night. Being quite perceptive of our concern for the loud party, Trina and the manager offered to seat us in the nearby Harvest Room. It was a great space with fireplace for added ambiance. From there, the evening got even better with prompt service and great food. I had the fried chicken sandwich on brioche and fries. Very good! Other entrees enjoyed by our party members were burgers and the pork quesadilla. Again all gave a thumbs up review. I would definitely recommend the Boathouse. Very nice people and good food!
very nice upstate NY lodge dining over its lake...
Waiter was fantastic. Food was quick and very delicious.
We had read several reviews, some very positive and some not so good. But when we drove by thought it looked really nice and worth the try. Glad we stuck with our reservation and ate here. We were greeted quickly by the hostess who was very nice and even moved us to a different table at our request. It was night time and dark, so we sat inside though they were seating outside. In the day or early evening outside would have been really nice with the view of the lake. But the big windows/doors to the outside give a good view even if eating inside.
Our server was attentive and came for drink orders fairly quickly. The menu is not extensive, but a nice selection of dishes. We were both in the mood for burgers. My wife ordered hers med-well and mine was ordered medium. The food was served timely and was very good. One section of my wife's burger was a little overcooked, but otherwise was good. Mine was cooked exactly as requested. Hard to go wrong with a burger, but the flavor was very good.
They were very busy but everything, from seating to service, was timely. The staff was friendly and the view and atmosphere are very nice. Would definitely go back again.
Beautiful & serene spot on Lake Flower, was nice enough to have the doors open & seating outdoors in October . Food was pretty tasty - for a hotel restaurant, service was pretty fast even tho there was only 1 cook & 2 servers. And they had GF bread/buns too! Worth it for the view !
Trisha was amazing!! Eat out by the water :) . Duck flatbread was great !! Guinness came in 1/2 pints ? :(
We had a reservation at 6:30. Was greeted with do not expect your meal to arrive before one hour. No good evening or a hello. We sat at the table and no one asked for our drink order for 20 minutes. We left and at at Dak Shake Shake.
Lori our server was so nice and friendly. We loved the food and in such a beautiful scenic area
Excellent food & service. Menu offered a good variety. Enjoyed the lobster ravioli & the grain bowl.
The wedge salad was huge and the burger tasty. Both were worth the cost. Lovely setting on the lake. The interior is very nice but a bit too noisy for my liking. Service was very good as I tend to be difficult.
This is a nice new addition to the Saranac Lake food scene. The view on the water was great. The food was good. Service was mediocre, but I would say that finding good employees is difficult anywhere you go. If you get rid of the TV's you will elevate the ambiance and caliber of the restaurant.
Super cool place right on the water. Delicious & unique food!
Good food. Good, maybe a little noisy atmosphere. Would prefer it open earlier and do lunch.
Definitely recommend 👌
Restaurant is modern with a beautiful view of Lake Sarananc. Unfortunately the service and food were poor. Entrees were brought out before appetizer was even half finished. Crab cake sandwich was thick deep fried breadcrumbs with very little crab. Menu was very limited and servers did not check on table or refill drinks. Dining room was very loud and echoey with only half the restaurant full. Gave it another try for breakfast given we were staying at the hotel. They were out of pancakes ☹️
Beautiful area. Food was good but limited menu and pricey for what you get.
Great first experience at the boathouse. Great food, great service. Will be back again.
Food was an ok concept but not great execution. Veggies not cooked right. Service and atmosphere average and they messed up my order as well. Not intending to come back.
One of the best ambiance I’ve ever seen. Great service and wonderful experience overall. Will definitely recommend!
We enjoyed a very private evening at a lakeside table wonderful food and atmosphere.
Pleasent dining experience on the outdoor patio with an excellent view of Lake Flower and Saranac Lake Village. Food was well prepared and presented by a courteous staff. Second visit to the Boathouse and their patio dining venue. Excellent.
Very nice place for a meal. Wonderful views of the water. Seems like a fun place for happy hour
The waiter took our drink order and meal order and never returned accept to give us the check. Had one drink. The fries I received was half full like someone ate them
Inside noisy outside better. Food good just small selections.
Think they are still working out growing pains. The food was good, however service very slow and we didn't get what we ordered. Server tried to make up for it but I think a bit overwhelmed. Pretty location. Worth another try in a few months.
Very nice restaurant, good food and amazing view.
The Boathouse is extremely convenient to the hotel but the service was slow and the food was OK. For breakfast, it's over-priced and had to wait 30-min for an egg sandwich. Drive to McDonald's a mile and a half down the road for a fraction of the price. They have to overcome lots of growing pains to match what the hotel offers next door. Convenience only lasts so long. People will find other options in Lake Placid 12-min away.
Great food, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, wonderful view!
